Talk Me Out Of It
« on: March 30, 2011, 11:43:17 PM »
OK, I really been thinking about putting a Red Dot on my G17RTF2 for USPSA. Speent a week checking this out. I found a sight that goes in the Dovetail. Some shooters say it's to high. Found a place that will mill the slide. Well I don't want anybody milling on my fish gills. :scream: Then I look at another slide. Well dang now the price of tad bit of $600. Sounds like I should stay with factory sights because I cant hit the water off a pier anyway. :fun1
Oh come on.....if you paid thousands of dollars for the very best, top grade 1911 and some clown comes along and beats you with a $400 plastic pistol, wouldn't you hate Glocks too?-

There's a reason for the side mount optics rails for pistols.

The slide slamming back and forth'll test any optics you install on it.

"Tactical" is a mindset, not an equipment list.

I'd get that trijicon RMR - it's supposed to be pretty durrable...

But, others do it all the time, If ya really want to do it - go for it. I've been tempted to mount a red dot on a pistol a few times...

i think that leupold comes with attachments for all different shapes, may not have to mill anything.

There is a few that has them that go into the Dovetails. Then there shooters say it sits to high on the slide. I will do the Dovetail 1st.
