Man, I thought by the name of title this would be a thread about ACTUAL hand-fabbed 4x4's like the ones my mom's rock crawling club use to off-road up mountainsides, not pansy trucks. Oh well... :th_thicon_lol:  :th_thicon_question:

Much like Tango, the wife and I both traded in and got Jeeps.

She got the better deal. 2014 Rubicon X that had been special ordered with everything you would want upgraded. The previous owner bought it for his place in Colorado. Only 11000 miles on it. I didn't mind though. I got a 2015 Hardrock with the best option you can have with teenagers, a manual transmission. They all want to drive hers. Mine not so much.

My wife is happy with stock. Of course I can't have a lego car and not build it into something else, so it was only a month, before I had ordered a lift, tires, wheels, and various other mods.

I do miss the power of my truck. I got a minivan motor, gas mileage sucks, the left side of a passing lane isn't where I hang out anymore and a crosswind makes keeping it on the road, like wrestling a bear.
But inspite of all that, it's like b :th_thicon_question:  :th_thicon_question: bs, their just fun.

We made our youngest daughter learn to drive on a standard.

I understand the teenager thing,
but it's a skill you should force them to learn. :)

We went to dinner last night and out of the blue my wife asked to drive home. She did fine even though she hadn't driven a stick in a forever. That made our daughter want to try. This morning I have mild whiplash, but she got the hang of it. She made it until she had to turn around in a driveway. She was worried she was going to go through their fence ( I was a little worried about that as well) so she let me take over.

Nope.  Other than adding the hard shell tonneau cover, no.

Partial to Fords are you? The 3.6 turbo charged or the 6.2 V-8? Saw a '15 Hennessy Edition run at the local racetrack a couple years back pushing 600 +  HP.  Twas a beast.

Not that I would want one as I hear their plagued with problems but Dodge has the Ram SRT Hellcat. '18 model as about 50 HP less than the Raptor but the new TRX Ram has or will have at a minimum 565 HP from an engine capable of just north of 700.  :afraid4:
There is a yellow one just down the road from me. Have been hoping to catch the owner outside so I could have a look see.

Put them Dodges in the dirt and the Raptor will shine.
Ford left the sport truck behind after 04 and the last Lightning’s.

I miss my 03L. But needed more than 2 doors and something better suited for use on my land.

No doubt. I'm partial to Fords myself although I do respect Dodge for their SRT series of vehicles. I think dropping that power plant in a soccer moms Jeep Cherokee/Durango is pretty awesome.
I'm not a truck guy, never have been, but I do recognize the appeal. My current ride is a Genesis sedan pushing 430 H/P and matted to a 8 speed auto tranny. 0-60 is about 4.6 seconds. The last four cars I owned prior to the Genesis was a severely under powered '98 Ford Cobra, '03 Corvette, my favorite 09 Shelby GT 500 rag top w/520 HP and a '11 Corvette Grand Sport.
I see another Mustang or vette in my future. :icon_wink:
