Houston Area IDPA Clubs
« on: July 11, 2011, 08:57:51 AM »
Greetings all!

I thought I'd post up a few links to some local IDPA clubs. This list is not all inclusive. I know there are a lot of clubs that don't have websites (The Arms Room in League City Monday night matches for example), so if anyone knows of some, post 'em up!!

West Houston IDPA
PSC Range IDPA
Thunder Tactical Shooters
Shiloh Tactical Shooters
Tactical Shooters

And of course, the IDPA national site:

International Defensive Pistol Association

Enjoy!!!!!!

I'm wonderin' if the IDPA clubs around Houston are friendlier than the one in Tyler? Went there twice and as soon as they found out I was a Cowboy Shooter it was like I had some kind of contagious condition!! I shot at West Houston club once while visiting Hou. a couple of years back and had fun! Didn't do very well but it was only the second time I had shot IDPA.
By the way, the Tyler club and the range they shot at closed up, a new subdivision started building houses right behind their berm!!

I'll tell ya, all of the clubs that I have visited and shot a match with in the Houston area have been very welcoming to new shooters. I've yet to have a bad experience.

Monday nights at The Arms Room hosts IDPA as well (I'm not sure they're an affiliated IDPA club, but it is IDPA style matches):

Note that PSC doesn't use the above linked website any more. They are using the PSC rang website for everything now (been this way for quite a few months now).

Action Shooting Sport nuts take notice!!

Shiloh Tactical Shooters is hosting an outdoor IDPA match this Saturday, 2/21 at the Pacleb Ranch gun range.  Click here to Pre-register.

http://www.shilohidpa.com/MatchRegister/698

Hammer down at 10:00.  Final setup and target stapling starts at 8:00.  Help is always appreciated.

Pacleb ranch is located near Cochran, TX near Oilfield Road and School road.  The range doesn’t have an actual address that any of my devices can find but Google Earth will get you right there.
Download this Notepad doc.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33847510/IDPA/pacleb%20in%20google%20earth.txt

Hit <Ctrl> A to select everything and copy.  Make sure to not alter the document on any way.
Open Google Earth and right click on one of your “Places” directories and <paste> what you’ve copied.  You now have the Pacleb range in your directory.

Click on it and you’re at the gate.  Drive towards the big piles of dirt and look for all the gun nuts.
