With her death this election is going to turn into a cut throat madhouse.

Democrats aren’t going to go away easy. Kavenaugh’s nomination will pale in comparison. Senator Murcowski and Lindsey have stated over the last year that they wouldn’t vote for a SC nominee prior to the election and Romney is as always questionable.

Hopefully your right but it ain’t going to be easy. Schumer, Schiff and Pelosi will pull out all the dirty tricks. I predict violence in the streets, a march on Capitol Building by both leftists and conservatives, a sheetstorm is coming.

Now we get to see if Mitch McConnell is an AMERICAN, or part of the back stabbing swamp.

They have 6 weeks.

My vote is for Ted Cruz. We need a constitutional lawyer, and Cruz also has SCOTUS experience.

We need quick and easy with no skeletons.

Republicans need to cram this through FAST.

Because the dems will sue and contest the election no matter what.

We cant have a 4 x 4 split.

We need that 5th vote.

You better believe dems would ram one through if they had the chance.

I would love to see Cruz sitting on the SC bench, but he said four days ago it wasn't happening. He even discussed it several months ago on his podcast he wasn't interested in sitting as justice on the SC.

The next couple of weeks are going to be very interesting to say the least.

I really dont know the other nominee list as good as I probably  should.

I know many texans dont want to loose Cruz.

I do feel we need a proven constitutionalists.

But McConnell said tonight if Trump puts a nominee forward, they WILL VOTE on it before the election.

I'll bet the liberal Democrats is  hair is on fire this weekend.  :th_thicon_lol: :th_thicon_lol:

We might just save AMERICA after all.

With another justice, Democrats have ZERO hope of getting a winning vote on their voter fraud scheme contested election plans.

One of the names being mentioned as a possible replacement is a lady named Amy Coney Barrett. Don't know anything about her.

Here's my thoughts as well on the vacancy they now have. RBG has been in poor health for some time now. I think many knew it was just a matter of time before she passed, or possibly retired.

So I think it's very possible that Trump and others had already had some ideas as to a replacement for RBG in the event she did vacate her seat on the SC. There were probably already some plans they had to deal with this in the event of her death.

I can't imagine they would leave something as important as a vacant SC seat being left to chance.

Catholic, rabid pro life, seven kids, sits on the 7th Dist. Court of appeals. Was on the short list when kavenaugh got the nod.

I looked up barrett last night.

She had some issues with me.

As a catholic, she is against the death penalty,  and wrote papers on judges recusing themselves from those case,

But the gave the deciding vote on the 1st federal execution in 17 years.

She is pro 2A,

So much , she seems to think convicted felons should be allowed to own and carry a firearm. And said prohibiting felons from firearms is a violation of THEIR RIGHTS.

Felons give up that RIGHT, choosing to be a criminal IMO. The constitution dont much apply to career criminals imo.

That's for LAW ABIDING CITIZENS IMO.

She said Roe v  wade can stand, the real question is using public funds to pay for it.

Her history seems well, WISHY WASHY.

She waffles on stuff.

For a 48 year old, that's troubling.
She will have 40+ years on the bench to get much worse imo. Or better. But it's a big unknown imo.

Trump put out a list of possible nominees last week and challenged Biden to do the same. He refused but he will probably have to do something now. One of the rumors last night was Trump had inside info that Ginsburg was on her death bed thus the reason for releasing his list. Don’t know if that’s true as he looked genuinely shocked when they told him after the rally last night.
One thing for sure the next six weeks is going to be interesting. I bet Trump comes out with a name early next week and gets the ball rolling. I’m guessing Cruz would have to resign from the senate if he’s nominated as he can’t vote for himself but I could be wrong. Gov Abbott would fill the seat real quick with another staunch conservative if it came to that.

The good thing about barret is confirmation is practically assured.

Dems cant do much but bitch about her religion, which is what they did last time. That's actually illegal for Congress to consider or bring that up in hearings, as per no judge shall be questioned on their religious preference and shall have no bearing on confirmation.

Feinstein did it anyway. But if not for that, the Democrats had nothing.

I dont know about  abbot either.

But whoever it is, better be squeaky clean with no skeletons. That could derail the whole thing.

We need to get this done BEFORE the election.

I would take her over ANY green initiative, anti fracking, anti 2A pro choice progressive. I probably will find something about any Trump nominee that I don’t like. Like with Kavenaugh being a beer drinking college student frat boy.I mean who could put up with such shenanigans? I got on my high horse and overlooked his faults.

Just a little leg pull.  :thumbsup1:

Personally, I'm not opposed to ex-felons regaining the right to own and possess firearms, IF they have served their entire sentence, or after their parole has expired. At such point IMO, they have repaid their debt to society, and should regain the right to protect and defend themselves.

If they are so dangerous to society, that they can't be trusted to be in possession of a firearm, should they be allowed to be out of prison in the first place?

Personally, I can't disagree with her position on that issue.

The abortion issue will always be a very contentious subject. But IMO, that should be a private matter between a woman, her doctor and God. I am for the most part very much pro-life and against abortion, but it should never be funded with any type of government or taxpayer funds in any manner. The funding should be strictly private means sourced.

Her being Catholic isn't, or shouldn't be an issue either. It doesn't an issue for me, or concern me.

I was referring to Gov Abbott of Texas. He would have to appoint someone to fill Cruz’s vacant senate seat should Cruz be nominated or confirmed. Gov Abbott is a died in the wool conservative whoever he appoints will be pro 2A.

Cruz would make an excellent SC justice IMO as well. But from what I have gathered from his own mouth, he's not interested in the least in being nominated or even considered to be nominated.

To me depends upon the felony crime committed originally.

Some violent type offenses no they should not ever be reinstated as far as gun ownership.
Right to vote etc Im good with as stated after all conditions meant etc they are a ok.

My daughter was involved in bad things as a younger persons she is now 37 and has recently received her right to firearms back as a result of many yrs of rehab and hoop jumping.
Her original drug related offense was non violent and as such I agree.

Had the offense been other I may not feel the same (blood feelings aside).

She worked hard did everything required on or before time given.

She is now well away from her past and has a great husband who basically saw her through it all and treats her like a queen.

People make mistakes and can learn and grow from them.

RGB was a great legal mind and I do believe for the most part she tried to rule on law not feelings or emotions which is a judges duty.

The SCOTUS has been far to politicized for many many years. The elected bodies in DC need to make the laws the court needs to uphold them not create them.

I agree with everyone on the felony firearms thing.

That's why I said CAREER criminals.

I know its splitting hairs.

But I also think A non  violent 1 time  FELONY should be looked at differently, from even a non violent career criminal.

There needs to be some line in the sand there.

Like even for non violent, 3 strikes your out deal.

The constitution was not written for career criminals imo. . Its basis is law abiding citizens.

But again, barrett seems to waffle on things.

That could turn into another Robert's thing in the next 40 years.

But barrett would likely be a shoe in.

Democrats found NOTHING on her last go around, so they resorted to attacking her religion.

And 4 Democrats even voted for barret.

If Robert's did Indeed hit Epstein island, I do look for that to force him to resign next Trump term.

Trump himself said he has learned some people in the swamp are untouchable.

But barr can only pander so long. And he has wore it about as thin as Patriots are going to allow. We all know he is also foot dragging until the election.

Giving us one indicted low level lawyer who is still running free wont hold very long.

But back to the hair splitting.

Barret somewhat concerns me, but might be the shoe in. And that might be best, since a prolonged fight could derail the whole thing.

I just got off the phone with a liberal.

She didnt call me yesterday. And I knew why.

And when she called today, I also knew why.

To bitch.

I ask her 3 times to not go there, but she insisted, so I pist  in her corn flakes.  :P

She was raising hell about how without Ginsburg's vote, the Democrats will loose their planned contested election JUST LIKE IN 2000.  She was pretty triggered.

Tell me that wasnt their plan all along. Screw up the election. As bad as possible with fake mail In ballots, then file suit and get a 5/4 scotus vote.

They were so certain this would remove trump.

Every point she had  was right from CNN.

Then when she started raising hell about how trump is a dictator and how they NEVER EVER  elect a SCOTUS before an election,

I informed her that Ginsburg was nominated by Clinton with 46 days left before the election.

She hung up.  :th_thicon_lol:

Liberals are really having a BAD BAD WEEKEND.  :th_KO: :th_nuts: :help:  :bangheadonwall: :scream3: :scream3: :scream3:

The incredible part is how mad they are at ruth.
I'm mean they're flat out  m  f  ing ruth for dying.

Like I'm sure she planned this just to offend liberals.  right?  :bangheadonwall:

I think where ruth screwed up was they were so positive hiliary was winning, she stayed in.

OOPS!

Just saw a pole on KHOU 13 news asking if they should wait until after the election to nominate someone

76% NO    24%  YES
