The Official TGF Beer Thread!
« on: May 23, 2020, 08:58:08 PM »
I knew there was something missing around here!  :wave1:

No beer thread. Shameful! How can you people call yourselves Texans?

So let's have a beer thread.

I really like Shiner beer!  :rocknroll2:

I love Shiner Bock but tonight I'm having a New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA and a glass of Larceny bourbon while watching The Big Red One with Lee Marvin and Mark Hamill. The Green Berets with John Wayne is next.

Nothing with Bud or Lite or Bud light
or Any beer requiring fruit to “enhance” the flavor.

Shiner Bock and when I happen to stumble across some Shiner Black.
Tried a Zigenbach was not impressed then notice AB product so no wonder.

Did I mention Shiner

Shield, if you can find it at one of your local stores, try out the Shiner Brewery Tour six or twelve pack.OMG! I'm really enjoying mine.  :rocknroll2:

Well, lime really isn't a fruit. It's a citrus! I do still occasionally enjoy a Corona with lime and salt. Actually before the early 1990's, Corona was my go to beer most of the time.

Ive tried most all Shiners Axxe
They have a couple that are tasty for sure. Prickly pear is a tasty one I like on a hot afternoon.

Before I got the Brewery Tour six and twelve packs, the only Shiner I had drank was the Shiner Bock, which I really like. But so far, there isn't a Shiner I have tried out of those Brewery Tours that I don't like!

My favorite of them is the Ruby Redbird! Wow!  :rocknroll2:

The other night, I had their Bohemian Black Lager with a very nice sirloin and baked potato. Was quite excellent.  :th_thicon_idea:

That Black Lager is pretty danged good. It goes well with a good steak and baked potato.  :th_thicon_idea:

I do really like the Ruby Redbird. Very interesting flavor, and I like it. :th_thicon_idea:

So is it wrong to drink beer while mowing, and what would the proper beer be to drink while mowing?  :wave1:

I drank another Ruby Redbird last night. I am actually surprised because I didn't think I'd like a beer that was brewed with fruit. But those Ruby Redbird Shiner's are pretty danged good!  :rocknroll2:
