Election 2020.
« on: February 08, 2020, 01:40:12 AM »
I thought an election 2020 thread should be started. Give us a place to discuss the weekly election news we hear from ALL sides.
This is the only forum I've seen where members can seem to CIVILY and  legitimately DISCUSS politics in a productive and interesting  manner.

Axes impeachment thread did very well and was very interesting with members sharing their knowledge. I learned alot that I otherwise would not have known since several members share ALL these different news sources.

We kinda know what happened in Iowa.

Any thoughts on New Hampshire.. ?

I'm thinking Sanders will pull ahead of Buttigeig there.

I seen on the BBC world news, they said campaign fund wise ,

Sanders had raised more than 25 million.

WARREN was about 1/2 that.

They didnt mention Buttigeigs funds.

They claimed Biden had not raise much 0f anything. ( they didnt give an exact $$$ number)  And also said bidens fund raising was so bad it was going to hurt him big time.

What I found interesting was , if true, the fact people are NOT giving Biden campaign money.

It will be interesting to see if the dnc doubles down on a losing horse. I got the feeling they're going to be more reserved throwing money at Biden like they did hiliary.

I think Biden is going to fall by the wayside. It seems painfully obvious to everyone but HIM that he doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell. The dems I know hate him. They thought he was a perverted jerk in 2008.

IMO, He is likely only doing it for the campaign cash anyway. Which is tax free after 1 year. I still think Romney and McCain did the same thing. Just in it for the cash,, didnt really want to win.  I think Biden  will drag it out to the bitter end just for the $$$.

Be hilarious if the Ukraine  ask for all that money back.  :th_thicon_lol:

New England is Sanders country. Massachusetts may go to Warren as it is her home state but her campaign is imploding right now with several black campaign workers claiming racism and bigotry from within.

Mayor Pete, IMO, is a fading star. Homosexuals are not as popular in the south or with blacks so I don't see him really gaining any ground now but I wouldn't count him out yet.

Biden is toast and is really starting to show he's a doddering old fool. I believe the Democratic National Committee sees him as a liability now.

Bloomberg is the wildcard. I think it will come down to him and Sanders.

My 2 Trillion Zimbabwean dollar opinion:

Sanders has a following that isn't going to change.  It might be 25% of the population who want to seriously shake up the US (and 100% of the "Free Free Free everything for everyone" crowd)  He's a threat to the Democrats, but many also see him as too old or too far left.

Pete Buttiegeg has more common sense than the rest of the Democrats combined,  and has successfully run a city in a semi-moderate political climate (relative to the the other Democrats), but as Alte noted, his preferences may automatically cost him votes from Pecos to OKC over to Florida and SC. I wouldn't count him out though.

Klobuchar has a better chance than she did, but is still known for some of her unfair raves during the hearings last year.  I expect she'll grow in the next few months.

Old news shortly:
Biden - too many skeletons in his closet, lies to reporters when the facts stand clear.

Poke-a-haunt-us - Too many holes poked in her, too many stories that don't add up particularly $'s for healthcare and forgiving college loans, but the far left / AOC crowd still likes her.

Andrew Yang - he has a clue, and is more reasonable than the others but he doesn't have the name recognition or track record the others do.

Bloomberg - It's amazing what each percentage point is costing him,  how much he pertibates the truth regarding gun control, and how he and Tom Styer both think their Billions can buy the election.

Gut feel:  In May it's going to be down to Mayor Pete and Bernie.

I think Sanders is the biggest threat for trump. While his free giveaway promises are realistically hollow,  and impossible, I agree he has a loyal following. Many of whom voted trump because of what the dnc did to Sanders. Question is,, how many ?

Mayor Pete is an unknown. His sexual preferences will hurt him no doubt,, but how much? You woulda THOUGHT,, it would have hurt him in Iowa. It certainly WONT hurt him in the far northeast or komnifornia.
People didnt seem to mind all the stories about obamma and mikael. Or the male heroine addict obamna sex toy in Chicago that committed suicide the same week he went public. 🙄 in fact, people refused to even discuss it. They literally pretended it never happened.

I seen a grungy greasy big burly bearded fat man in a skimpy ladies summer dress last fall, in a rural  PA Walmart. It was disgusting to me,he also needed a bath bad, , but nobody else was paying any attention to it. The public's acceptability of homos is obviously far worse that I may care to admit.  So how bad will this really hurt mayor Pete?  You cant bet that community votes for Pete.

Bloomberg's obviously trying to prove he can also BUY the nomination like hilly did. And I believe he has way less support than hilly. I dont think he could pull it off. Almost seems like he is doing it for the attention. To me, bloomie is not a serious cantidate.
Because of his political views and rabid 2 A  stance,, people that will vote for bernie,, wont vote for bloomie. If the dnc does that,,AGAIN,,, I think trump's a shoe in for 4 more.

I truely think Sanders is the biggest threat.

Pochahontas has repeatedly proven, she can be a royal pita. But her arguments are so hollow, i dont consider her a very serious threat. Everyone knows she is just a blowhard full of bullcrap. She can calk a pretty mean line of crap, but that's about it. . I didnt hear about the black workers claiming racism. That could be the final nail in the Warren campaign coffin.

You do not see many negative stories by the mainstream media on any of them right now - but several months ago, I saw some news about what a terrible Mayor Buttiegeg has been. I think if someone points out that if he cannot run a city, how can he run a country... That would hurt.

I personally think that if they pick Sanders, Sanders is the easiest to defeat

From what I've been reading, Mayor Pete did better than average as mayor of South Bend than of his peers.

https://www.businessinsider.com/south-bend-under-mayor-pete-buttigieg-economy-2019-12

Since the economy is doing pretty well, I expect Ship is correct that Sanders would be the easiest to beat, but for purely entertaining reasons, would love to see poke-a-haunt-us run.

Yeah, Buttiegeg has some baggage being kept on the way low. Since he began preparing for his run for the Democrat candidate 2 years ago he hasn't been paying much attention to his mayoral duties in South Bend leaving it to a city counsel that bickers a lot and doesn't get anything done. He's a intelligent person though. Oxford grad and Rhodes Scholar. South Bend is a typical liberal town with two large university's. Notre Dame and Univ. of Indiana.

He had a white cop on black shooting last summer that may come back to haunt him. Anybody interested can read about it here: https://www.indystar.com/story/news/crime/2019/06/24/south-bend-police-shooting-what-know-pete-buttigegs-response/1545032001/

I believe the DNC will do what the did last time and do anything they can to keep Sanders from being nominated. His admission yesterday that his Green New Deal will come at a cost of thousands of jobs will be used against him if he gets the nomination.

This week was bad bad bad for the Dems. Caucus fiasco in Iowa, Trump acquitted, best economic news in the last 20 years, best ever unemployment numbers across the spectrum and Aunt Pelosi throws a childish fit for all to see.

The next few weeks should be very interesting.

I'll agree with ship. Not much bad stuff being reported or said right now.

Biden as the biggest loser , and obviously having a little trouble dealing with the rejection and REALLY POOR showing,,, has made a few ugly remarks,, but everyone else is kinda playing nice,,,, so far.

Curious to see how long it takes for the gloves to REALLY  come off , and the nasty mud slinging to commence.

The more desperate the cantidates get to be dnc  number one,, the worse its going to get.

In reality, the Democrats just don't have anyone to contend with Trump. Even among Democrat voters, Trump is making things so much better for everyone, regardless of political affiliation.

Biden is dropping in the polls. Warren is nothing but a liar, and a socialist. Mayor Pete, didn't do well enough as a mayor for people to give him chance to screw up the entire country. Bloomberg, is again, a wildcard. Not for sure whether Hillary is going to jump in or not.

Trump for the win in 2020!

I hope that you are right, but we shouldn't get complacent. Never underestimate the Democrats' ability to pull something out of their ass in a crisis. I still think Trump's opponent is not yet in the running. I believe that the Democratic convention will produce a totally new candidate. Michelle and/or Opra come to mind. :sick2:

You are absolutely correct Randy, and I agree with you.

I think that getting complacent is a good way to get steamrolled!

Well regarding Bernie, project Veritas released video/audio a week or 2 ago of 3 or 4 staffers saying some pretty horrendous things.
https://www.projectveritasaction.com/2020/01/21/expose-2020-another-bernie-2020-field-organizer-ill-straight-up-get-armedim-ready-for-the-fing-revolutionguillotine-the-rich-praises-the-so/ [nofollow]
Bernie didnt even denounce what they said, he hasnt even bothered to respond last i heard.  Probably hoping MSM wont report on it and itll get forgotten.  If he does become the frontrunner i think those videos will come back to haunt him.

Pretty much anytime Project Veritas makes an announcement, the other networks ignore it. Only the talk radio crowd an a couple of FOX pundits will discuss it. Otherwise, it just gets ignored

Pretty sad to say MOST POLITICIANS are snakes.
They talk out both sides of their mouth as a habit.
Say A,, do Z.
The really sad part,,, their voters are too dang stupid to realize it and call them on it.

The list is long of politicians who have promised the following. And it goes clean back into the 1990s with the Clinton's.

SLAVE REPARATIONS.
FREE COLLEGE.
FREE MEDICAL CARE.
FREE UNLIMITED  IMIGRATION.
FREE EVERYTHING FOR IMIGRANTS.
FREE HOUSE, FREE CARS, FREE CASH, FREE MEDICAL, FREE FOOD.
(You can ask anyone from Michigan or Minnesota about Obama doing this for the 1.2 million Muslims he brought in. You know,, the ones from northern Africa Obama CLAIMED were Syria refugees? IM ONE OF YOU!  Remember ? )

California has bankrupted themselves trying to do some of it minimal. Just enough to get the minority and immigrant vote.

But any politician who claims they can do any of that for everyone is an outright liar.

They already waste too much tax dollars on PERSONEL kickback insanely stupid programs giveaways to have enough tax dollars left.

THEY LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS FIRST.

AND TELL THE PEOPLE WHATEVER THEY THINK THEY NEED TO GET RE ELECTED.

Trump is the first Potus we had since Reagan that's done what he promised.
And he accomplished it amid the libtard dems fighting him every step on everything.
Pretty impressive accomplishments really.
And mostly everything trump has done, is fixing past screw ups the dems are responsible for.
NAFTA. Clinton.

 China trade. Clinton.
BOTH specifically designed to give Mexico and China cheap import taxes while we paid ridiculous tariffs in return.

Immigration, dems on a whole,, goes clean back to when Reagan gave amnesty, dems promised a new CONTROLED immigration DEAL. THEY WELCHED on it.

A HUGE thing is judges.  Dems are bitching bad cause the administration is on a tear appointing conservative pro constitutional  judges.  It's just killing the dnc and cronies. Trump and McConnell are undoing 8 years of Obama, and the dems cant stop it. Setting  back their liberal plans for new laws by  years. Lol.
Politicians are like diapers, they should be changed often, and for the same reason.

Who is gonna win New Hampshire ?

The reporting according to PBS, ,,

Biden already left for SC. He reportedly didn't find much support there. He was getting heckled in interviews. 😂

Warren admitted she dont think she did well,  but  of course,, it  means nothing as far as she is concerned.  $$$just send money$$$ 😁

Sanders appears to have the most support. 🤔

They're expecting Buttigen to surge ahead of everyone but Sanders. 😏

Klobucher is supposedly doing better than expected. They think she will beat Biden.

No mention at all about Bloomberg. 😳

At 8 PM eastern, it's:

SANDERS 28.3%
BUTTIGIEG 22.3%
KLOBUCHAR 20.4%
