Broke out the heavy duty weed whacker today and tackled the winter weeds in and around the shrubs. Have a big live oak out front of my place that shed something fierce since I last raked in January. The wind yesterday didn't help. Started raking around 1 and an hour later wasn't happy with the progress I had made so far. Never owned a leaf blower before but I have one now.  :thumbsup1:

I use the mowers for leaves! Turn them into plant food.

I usually do that with my riding mower but it needs a tire and a battery. Probably could have got both cheaper than the leaf blower but I didn't feel like turning a wrench today and besides I like new shiny things.

Got the pulley rewelded and back on and it's back to mowing like a champ again.

Now if it would quit raining so things can dry up enough to mow!  :bangheadonwall:

Earlier in the week I was mowing, and ran out of gas, while waiting for the wife to bring some home. Well I filled it up, and got back to mowing, but soon after it started running rough and surging. Figured it picked up some trash an clogged up the carb. Tore it down and cleaned it at least eight times, and still couldn't get it to run right.

Found an older, in much better condition, and larger one that I bought yesterday. Thing mows like a beast! :rocknroll2:

Almost sounds like you got some bad gas.

It was fresh gas from the station, and is working fine in the push mower, and the "new" riding mower.

Well the newer mower runs and mows like a champ.

I'm going to take advantage of the rainy days to do some minor repairs and maintenance on it. More rain being forecast for the next several days.

I did now for almost an hour this morning before it started raining, again. This mower is a 1994 Montgomery Wards Power Kraft. Has an 18 HP Briggs and Stratton, and a 46" deck. It rides so much better than the other riding mower as well.

I'm really liking this mower! :rocknroll2:

One of the modifications I'm making is to the light wiring. Currently the headlights are wired from the switch to the generator. Lights won't operate unless the engine is running, and at idle are very dim. The faster the engine runs, the brighter the lights.

So I am going to provide power to the switch from the battery side of the starter solenoid.

Later on I plan on replacing the factory front lights with some small LED lights.

Also got my cupholder mounted!
