..favorite caliber to burn..
« on: August 13, 2019, 06:58:38 AM »
.
aside from favorite firearm what caliber is your favorite to shoot ?

(I believe I know what TXAZ just might say..... :th_thicon_idea:)

mine happens to be .357mag - powerful attention getter that makes paper targets "flutter" on the range

(5.7 is Mr Runner-Up)

your response ref 9mm got me thinking Ship - so, just for grins, I checked all my handguns to see "what caliber" they are chambered to shoot, percentage-wise :

9mm............................31 %
.357 & .45 tied at...........14 %
.22...............................10 %
.380, .40 & 9x18..............7 %
5.7 & 7.65..................3 1/2 %

(yeah, I know, doesn't quite = 100 %, but I'm lazy)

9mm = most rounds down range but Boomer is the biggest blast.

It would be a toss-up between 45 acp and 44 spl. for me.

only "against the crowd" because it's "your" favorite.....I personally have 12, 20 and 410 firearms

(and for those of us who "forgot" how the gauges are "measured", here's more shotgun ammo info than you'll ever need, or probably want :

In rereading the OP question, the answer would have to be a 23mm ZU-23 anti-aircraft fun at the Norinco test grounds outside Beijing.
The whole fricking gun platform recoils as the tracer headed toward a mountain about 5 miles away.
More fun than Boomer but donít think there are any ranges around here that would let you shoot it.

.45 Auto is my favorite.
Mostly .45 and 9x19, though my 9x21 and .38 Super guns are great, I just hate losing cases.
I shot mostly indoors, where magnums are forbidden, otherwise it would also be .45 Win Mag.

My heart says .45 acp & .357 magnum.
My wallet says 9mm
My inner 12 year old says .22 lr
My rifle says 7.62x39
My shotgun says anything your heart desires so long as it's in 12 ga
9MM may expand, but .45 ACP never contracts!

You and my wife would get along great. She's a half-wit too! :th_thicon_lol:

Think a mixture of Edth Bunker, and Gracie Allen! Yeah she's a dingbat, but I wouldn't trade her for a million bucks! :wave1:

Hate to sound un-American but I really like the .303 for a rifle, and for a pistol I like shooting the 9mm but .40 has been growing on me more and more the last 2-3 years.
"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
