Getting back on my feet
« on: July 02, 2019, 05:56:29 PM »
Kidney disease that has been in partial remission the last few years reared it's head last week. Kind of knocked me down for a few days but after a new round of (expensive) meds and I'm feeling much better. Kidney function is at 30%, which is the best I can hope for, so no dialysis.
So I've been catching up on the threads here on TGF and will be responding appropriately.

I was first diagnosed in '06 and after being on chemo and steroids for two years I went into remission with an occasional flare up every other year or so. I was feeling really good in '17 when I retired but in January '18 my kidneys started rejecting protein. Although that is under control my days and plans for traveling are over.
Better than the alternative but it sure puts a damper on things.
