we too have nightlights - in the bedroom, the bathroom and down the hallways

but I'm of the mind that I don't want to be at the end of a light beam if there's "someone" prowling around in or out of my house at night - I do have a combo light/laser installed on both my 5.7 pistol and the AR but neither would automatically be turned on until I've assessed the situation (god forbid !)

Lights on "WeMo" are nice because you can turn them on with your smartphone from a different room.

I have mine set up so there are no shadow spots someone can hide. I did the same at my previous house.
