I agree Tango. I planned on going over to my father's and getting the tractor and brush hog to mow the front yards and the ROW when they dried up. But not now. the ROW is back under water again.

No Rain to speak of around here in SA in about 10days now.

Partly cloudy for the most part but humid. Luckily a nice 20mph or so breeze as well.

Rain from last night. These areas were just about dried up.

i noticed here at the library (no way to take or post a photo)
that the lawn and landscaping are covered with big mower
ruts from the border jumpers running the big propane ZT
mowers around before everything is properly dried out.
same when they start running the sprinklers. there'll be big
muddy puddles everywhere from over watering ( as if anyone
in this area needs to water grass for the next month)

It's lightning and thundering right now, like the bottom is fixing to drop out of the bucket again.  :bangheadonwall:

Around 1pm a thunderhead popped up out of nowhere. Torrential rain. Grabbed a cigar and a cold beer and went out on the back deck to enjoy the cool weather. Just as I got settled in it stopped. Suns out now. Gauge shows just shy of an inch. Lotta water in 30 minutes.

I'm in for the day - worked all morning weedeating and edging and blowdrying - Wife is out on the zero turn Spartan, which she absolutely loves and looks for excuses to mow.....

Less than thirty minutes after the bottom fell out, the sun popped out. Except for the standing water puddles all over the yard, you would have hardly guessed it had just been a gully-washer earlier! And the humidity went way up as well!

what does it take to become a WI (weather idiot, known as Meteorologists by the TV stations that hire them)

3 TV stations locally and not 1 of their WIs were forecasting anything but summer-like heat for the rest of the week - now, all of a sudden, there's an 80% chance for T Storms and heavy rains for tomorrow (Wednesday).....grrrrr, I've got stuff planned to do, "outside" !

Ship our local weather guy, Ch 3,  was pretty spot on about this tropical disturbance since last Friday. Looks like the bad stuff is going up the I-45 corridor east of us.

It started raining here about 3 am. It's been off and on ever since, but at least so far, it's just raining lightly. The garden should like it!  :wave1:

My place today 1st photo shows the flood gauge at 3 feet over the road. Was at 4 feet three hours ago. The gauge sits just off the road on a small bridge. The creek is seven feet below that. Lotta water there but I've seen worse in the last 26 years.
Second photo is at the end of my street, water was up in the trees a few hours ago
Third photo: County put down a new layer of asphalt in front of my driveway when it was dry last week. Had been needed for a year or so. Wasn't happy to see this.
