It just started raining here. How much? I'll let you all know after while!

I did notice the squirrels putting life jackets on if that is any indicator of how much rain we might get!  :wave1:

we dodged a bullet yesterday - 1st off, the front came thru about 4 hours later than forecast by the WIs - had ominous looking ultra black clouds show up and it then down-poured for a short time (but didn't even measure on the gauge however)

radar showed severe weather just north (Quitman) and just south (Lindale/Tyler) but we really didn't get it  :th_thicon_idea:

It rained like a gully-washer last night! I thought it had passed, or that it was just going to lightly rain, but NO! I had just got my charcoal going and it was going pretty good when the bottom fell out. flooded my fire. So I resorted to cooking the steaks inside in my huge cast iron skillet. I then seasoned them with some Cajun blackening seasoning, got the skillet nice and hot. The steaks turned out awesome. I hadn't cooked a steak in that way in some years, but they turned out wonderful. Only problem with cooking that way, they released a lot of the spices that had me coughing for about an hour! Almost like getting sprayed with pepper spray!  :wave1:

Well if the weather will cooperate for a few days, maybe, just maybe I can get some of the mowing that needs done finished up.

It was dry enough out at my place over the weekend that I was able to get mostly finished
up this weekend. By Sunday we were hitting golf balls and dumping brass on the ground.

Oh there is plenty that will need to be mowed by the time it dries up, but that is at least a month or more until that, and by then, I'll have to bring the tractor and brush hog over here to do that because of how tall it already is now.

Yep. More rain being forecast for tomorrow. I did mow a little bit more this afternoon, until the deck belt shredded. I knew it would, and I had ordered a new one last Friday. It suppose to be here in the morning at the auto parts store. But if it does rain, a lot of good a new belt does me, right?

(Tuesday, 5/21) - ah shucks - did just a little Tractor mowing then "felt" this latest front sneaking up - got back to the house just before the rain hit (but left the Tractor out - tryin' to get a jewish car wash for it)

good for the flowers, bad for the mowing.....

Just enough to screw up my car wash when I drove

Back in 2005, I bought a brand new Ford Mustang, black! It seemed like EVERY time i washed that car, shortly afterwards, it would rain.  :th_nuts:

And it would usually end up with water spots all over it. I love the look of cars with a black paint job, but I refuse o ever own another one.
