1970 Chevelle SS in black with two white racing stripes down the middle.

My uncle had a 1970 SS Chevelle 396, with the four speed manual. Bright red, cowl-induction hood, the twin white stripes, white vinyl top, and red interior. The 396 was not totally stock either! I got to drive it quite a bit after I got my driver's license. A beast of a car to say the least.  :rocknroll2:

Someone in my neighborhood has a gray Chevelle, (71-72 I think) one time the family and I were in the Explorer then I noticed the Chevelle was behind us at the light. I told the kids to shush it and I rolled down the windows. Wife thought I was crazy but the rumbling of that engine... ah... pure American muscle.

1972 Mustang Grande with 351 Cleveland 4bbl and the FMX transmission like the one I built for my daughter when she was in High School.
Yeah that 351 Cleveland was/is BA. I had a friend that dropped one in a '70 Torino, spiked it with a couple of dual Holly pumpers, Hooker exhaust system, Hurst Blackjack manual, and a couple of other things. Beside the Dodge Dart 440 I rode in a couple of times that Ford was the scariest car I've ever been in. The low end torque was absolutely amazing. Would love to do it again.

Yeah I rebuildt the engine and put in a bigger cam and Holly 750  dbl pumper and a cool shift kit for the transmission also Hooker Headers.

I still love the sound of a big block rumbling!

I have a friend that had one of the Dodge Little Red Express trucks back in the day. A truck and performance vehicle rolled into one!

Of all the trucks I have owned, this 1997 Nissan King-Cab 4wd was probably one of my favorites. This is what it looked like when I first got it. sitting on 31" tires. I ended up putting a 2" suspension lift on it, 33" tires on 15x10 rims, grille-guard with an 8K lb. winch on the front. Only bad part was the gutless 2.4 inline four cylinder engine!

Thanks to all the replies. I did get a set of good wheels. Now I am looking for a pair of rear tires 225/60/15. They do not seem to be easily available.

I've also favored Discount in the past (I liked their service in Conroe - a station where anyone could drive up and an attendant would check pressures (rain or shine) in all 4/then "air" if needed).....but there's a local tire guy in Mineola (I swear, he's a Hispanic look-alike of Ernest Borgnine !) that's done me some favors

I just might order replacement tires from him when it's time

you know.....support the local businesses (and prove at the same time that I'm not a racist )

There is small tire shop in town that treats us very well on prices and service on tires. I found them when I was doing outside service for several companies I worked for, using them for my tire related repairs. When I needed tires on one my personal trucks, I talked to the owner and he gave me a really decent price on a set of new tires. So when the wife needed tires on her car, yep, I gave them a call.
