Swing Out Sister a group from some years back from England.

I remember them

Classic country tonight on the radio outside while I'm watching the BBQ smoker and feeding it wood!

If anyone wants a good music app for their computer or smart devise, check out Spotify. I have been using it for about ten years, and it's great if you like music as much as I do.

It popped up Facebook years ago, so I tried it out, and really liked it, so I kept using it. I probably have close to 10K of songs stored! At least 1500 are just songs by Elvis!  :rocknroll2:

Ship, maybe we could nickname you "Beastie Boy" on the forum instead of "Mayhem"  :rocknroll2:

In honor of the 42nd anniversary of the King, Elvis, the wife and I spent part of the afternoon watching YouTube videos of him. Listened to a lot of songs we hadn't heard before or very little.

if at home and if I choose to listen to music it would be SiriusXM off of Dish and it's their "Blend" or "Love" channels - anything as far away from "rock" crap or today's music

but I usually only have that playing when the cleaning gal is here or there are other workers in the house and I've gotta be here

when driving I'll occasionally find an easy listening station but most of what's presented is country or Mexican, both of which I can't stand so "off" with the radio

I think it was a houston station where there used to be a 2 or 3 hour program that played '40s music (actually a decade before my time) - the DJ seemed to know everything there was to know about the music and performers and would pass that along before or after a selection - was the best station I'd ever listened to.....but, the station dropped it and replaced him with a damned sports talk garbage program

what I'm trying to say is.....there's not much available for me to appreciate in the "listening to" department

and I'm listening to our local WI (weather idiot) who's starting to change his "tune" about our chances for some moisture ( knocking on the nearest wood and at the same time crossing fingers for "I hope so" )

"crunch, crunch, crunch" - the sound of walking on our grass   :frown:

just came in from working on the gate/fence install/repair - looked and felt like rain with the wind picking up - decided to get the tools under cover

looked at the Tyler weather radar - 2 systems - 1 over awfully homely, er, Oklahoma but it's headed straight south and looks as tho it might miss us - but - it could act to block the system that TXAZ was experiencing which is headed towards us from the NW

and, as I type, some good rain is coming down - hope it sticks around for a while (but please, no big winds - don't wanna lose more of our beautiful trees.....)

PROG METAL!! :thumbsup1:

Love this band; seen them live twice. The violinist blows my mind, as does the periodic use of classical guitar elements.
