Tango, you might also check out the INSP Channel. I think you said you liked older westerns..
don't believe it was me that said I liked old Westerns - unless it's something like Lonesome Dove, Quigley Down Under, or Dancing With Wolves - no on most of the other stuff

but thanks for the thought

I apologize then. I must have mixed you up with someone else then.

What amazed me was the musical genius behind their songs. The movie was way better than I thought it would be. It gave me a new appreciation for Queen's music.

My wife started watch this program, "Downton Abbey" on NetFlix I believe is the one she's watching it on. And by osmosis of being "subjected" to her watching, I have become somewhat interested in the program. It's actually pretty interesting.

The other night, while browsing through various channels in search of something to watch, I found this program and it seemed sort of interesting, so I decided to give it a try. DANG! This show is excellent! Has all sorts of plot twists and you don't dare walk out and come back a few minutes later or you will be confused as to what is going on. The writers are amazing on this program.

Do you happen to have a VHS tape player as I can loan you some good old John Wayne movies from 1933 to 1936, 10 tapes in all. LOL

Remember Tango back in 1962 those films were considered big time risque. Nothing before, except the previous Bond movie From Russia with Love, had ever been seen before. I was ten when Goldfinger was released and begged my parents to let me go see it. Not a chance with my Irish Catholic mother and super strict Army Major father.
I finally saw it nine years later when it played at the small theater at the Ton Son Nut air base. I remember thinking that it was kinda lame but cool none the less. For it's time it was a decent flick. You look at it now and, like you, I say WTF.
I did/do like Daniel Craig as the latest Bond in Casino Royal.

I have to admit I have been a fan of the James Bond films for many years. Probably because my father enjoyed watching them. The older ones were a little cheesy in some ways! But the gadgets were so cool!

Only James Bond movie I've ever seen was GoldenEye, and that was only because one of the most popular and influential classic video games of all time had been made as an adaption of it, that I liked to play a lot.

Wasn't a fan of the idea of the character changing every couple of years though; in my mind, Pierce Brosnan will always be the real James Bond in my opinion.

I recently heard a rumour that this movie's production crew has apparently gotten wrapped up in the recent wave of P.C. mania, and the new Bond will be some black actress. Some of the guys were talking about it at lunch yesterday.

Since I started with the first James Bond movies with Sean Connery, I had to adjust to Roger Moore, then Timothy Dalton, then Peirce Brosnan, then Daniel Craig. Now I like Sean Connery, and I like many of his later movies after James Bond, but Daniel Craig, is by far the most realistic and best James Bond.

I prefer watching Sean Connery later in his career and think that Daniel Craig "works well" as 007 - but that could be (for me) that the movies that he's in are just plain better than the earlier Bond ones

I am a fan of the Borne trilogy and think that Matt Damon is a very talented actor

thinking that Connery, Tom Selleck as well as John Wayne were much better in their later acting life

I can agree with that assessment Tango.  :th_thicon_idea:

But many of the "British" spy movies and TV programs of that era were kind of cheesy in a way. Movie technology got much better in later years.

Daniel Craig is a good actor as well in other roles than just as James Bond.

Tango, in case you didn't know there is a fourth movie with Damon as Bourne. Came out in '16 "Jason Bourne" is the title. Pretty good.
Another movie I like is Damon's buddy Ben Affleck's The Accountant. Hate their left leaning politics though.

There is also the fourth in the series of "Bourne" movies, The Bourne Legacy, which doesn't have Matt Damon in it. It's pretty good too.
