You can thank the collectivist education, that YOU are paying for, in our public schools and universities.

Still think Trump will win in 2020?

Could be an accurate poll, but might also not be.  Who knows.
What I've noticed is that the older people get once in the workforce, they realize they're paying for all the handouts.  Also the student loans (that are no longer dischargeable in bankruptcy) average debt is $30K per student (all students), or $4K per citizen of this country.

And there's a fair number of students who went to expensive private / ivy league schools and got degrees in "Women's Studies", have 6 digits of high interest student loan and no job prospect that doesn't involve the phrase "Do you want fries with that?"  (seriously)

For all of these, sure, I'd probably say socialism is the answer if I can discharge my debt.

As a country we face a lot of real issues.  People do need access to reasonable healthcare, and the current system is clearly broken.  What does that look like?  No one knows as the politics are overrunning reality.  Same with the 'green new deal', there's not enough wealth *AND* accessible debt to finance it.  Clearly some politicians have a serious case of cranial rectitis.

I just hope we don't go down a road that can't be recovered from.
(On the other hand, like some of you, I'm getting older and there are getting fewer and fewer things the government can do to screw up my retirement)

*WELL* before that. The US has a resilience, education level and wealth that other countries don't have, and quite frankly we have a lot of guns in the hands of citizens that make a hostile government less likely to succeed against the will of the vast majority of citizens.

On the other hand... History is pretty clear on Venezuela, who now has very few options.    It might have been resolvable 3 years ago but that’s toast now.

1) Maduro holds out longer, civil war *WILL* breakout, the army gets called out, lots of people get killed, other nations denounce, Madura keeps the pressure on, unrecoverable spiral, Maduro is ultimately is assassinated by supposedly friendly forces.  His successor is not clear and desperately needed foreign help is held back until the country is sorted out (and people starve with anarchy in the streets).

2) Things get a bit worse, other nations are able to convince Maduro to step down with asylum and take all his riches (billions) to another country with a 'no kill' promise. Guaidó or other takes over with significant help from other nations to get Venezuela back on line. It will be a decade to get back to 'normal' and most of their debt gets eaten by the investors.

3) "Unknown" foreign forces lethally remove Maduro and company from power with measurable loss of life.  Guaidó or other is installed by the foreign forces with significant help from other nations to get Venezuela back on line.  Because of this invasion / coup de etat, trust is severely lacking. It will be a decade to get back to 'normal' and most of their debt gets eaten by the investors.

If history is any indicator, Maduro is leaving either with his money and asylum or he'll die where he stands.

Polls can be skewed any way you want them to be by whomever is conducting said poll.

However as uninformed and unintelligent as these (gen wtfe) people seem to be I would not be surprised.

They have been convinced that they are owed or are entitled to or deserve it etc.

No one bothered to teach them to WORK for things they simply held out their hands and their parents filled um so they think that is how the world works.

No idea of earning any thing or working for it.

Just give it to me I deserve it.
Im entitled to it.
You owe it to me.

Why?

Because Im ME.

Sometimes being closer to 60 than 30 is a great blessing. May not be around long enough to see the implosion of the country I love and support as ot is devolving to a world of shiat.

I believe it was Winston Churchill that said “If you are not a Liberal when you are young, you have no heart, and if you are not a Conservative when old, you have no brain”
As a high school history teacher, I try to remain unbiased, however, when it comes to the values of the United States such as our rights as free individuals and free enterprise and private ownership property, I give it to my students straight: We have the best country that this world has ever seen and that the free market, capitalism and our civil liberties have allowed for our young country to grow and create more innovations and freed more people than any nation ever!

Not all young ones are socialists (some think that they are because is popular as a young one) and there are more teachers than you think that are conservative and support pro American values in our schools.

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776
