Would this scope be overkill
« on: February 14, 2019, 09:08:12 PM »
Need an opinion

Would this scope (test) mounted on my CZ be a bit of a overkill for the weapon it's mounted on

It's a 2.5X10

It feels good to the eye, but is a little heavy

Personally Id go with a red/green dot.
Lighter and faster target acquisition.

Just my 2 pennies worth.  Firearms like these are made for close use and fast target acquisition, which ant type of magnified scope would not allow.

Would it be overkill for storming and retaking a stolen oil tanker? Probably not.

Would it be overkill for storming and retaking the hallway outside your bedroom? Yeah, I think so.

I'd be more inclined to go with the dot sight the others have suggested, but with the added versatility of a tactical flashlight, especially if it's your 'things that go bump in the night' gun.

I would get an Aimpoint Micro. I have one on my PS90

Depends on your intended use IMO.

I have a 10X night scope on my JRCarbine,, which I use for shooting coyotes. Combined with the green laser light, you can easily see almost 200 yards at night and identify a target. This JRC is deadly accurate @ 150 yards,, and Id wager that CZ is even better.

But my JRC  also has a green laser/light on it which can be switched on at a moments notice and used for SD without ever looking through said scope.

Its all about personal preference and intended use.  :th_thicon_idea:
I like the dual usage idea.
