University police training faculty to fight potential armed intruders — complete with hockey pucks

Quote
Gordon said that in addition to the training, faculty and students will be armed with hockey pucks to fight back against a potential active shooter.

According to the station, “Hockey pucks provide the ability to be carried in brief cases or backpacks, are not considered a weapon, and will meet the goal of distracting the shooter.”

Hockey pucks work for me as long as they are 124, 147 or 660 grain hockey pucks.

 :flyers: :flyers: :flyers: :flyers:
Flyers were a team I followed in the 70s. Then moved to TX before hockey was known here.

Dont really keep up with it anymore.

Had the chance as a kid to meet
Tony Espizito. Actually he had dinner at our house. My dad was Plant Mgr for Northland Hockey sticks which was Tony’s brand.

Talk about a neat deal for a kid of 7-8 yrs old.

Everyone here knows I am a huge Flyers fan. I watch every game, and I have flown up to Philly several times to go to an event where you can meet the players. I have tons of signed items from those trips.

I knew that
I wish I could get back in to hockey but it just seems to be not as exciting as it was.

What a STUPID idea by "anti hockey'ers."

First  they turn an object with NO BRAIN of its own into an " ALLEGED"   weapon. ( just like they do liberals  :th_thicon_lol:)

Then they OUTLAW hockey.  :bangheadonwall:

DEATH BY 1000 CUTS.

Dont let em get away with this crap Shipwreck.
Or your favorite sport is dead.

Politicians are like diapers, they should be changed often, and for the same reason.

There are two kinds of people in the world my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. YOU DIG.  " Blondie".

Well, any man that wouldnt cheat at cards for a poke, dont want one bad enough. " Gus".

Possibly less painful with all the safety gear nowadays. I remember goalies and no masks and or almost none. Like Ken Dryden of the Canadiens.

Well, now they use composite sticks. They can shoot the puck a lot harder now than they used to be able to. You need that extra padding now.
