Wilson Combat EDC X9

I am looking for feedback and opinions regarding the Wilson Combat EDC X9.

Anyone experience this one? Can it possibly be worth its price?

Everything I have read has been positive. If I carried anything but DA/SA, I'd want one. Seems like a great gun!

I am impressed by it and I like the 15+1. But I am not sure that at $2500 it could be that much better than other edc.

Well, one can argue everyday production weapons and their prices against semi custom or custom 1911s all day long. Until you own a higher priced 1911, you will never "get it." I have owned a few very nice 1911s, and now I cannot buy a standard production model 1911 anymore. I see too many issues with them, and am just not satisfied with the lower model 1911s any longer

Well, the fit and finish is better. You will notice differences in the trigger versus cheaper 1911s. The feel of the thumb safety and how it moves canl be different. That's in addition to the feel of the checkering and the way the parts fit together.

I can't stand the side to side wobble of the trigger that most cheaper 1911s have. And, the feel of the thumb safety in the on and off position (as it moves) is noticeable between cheaper 1911s and higher end models. The fit of the bushing can be different too.

yes... that would likely be the outcome. Its definitely a slippery slope.

We've got some nice 1911s - NH, Guncrafter Ind, Ed Brown, STI and also a Springfield TRP

the TRP wasn't an expensive pistol - it's "ok", but it's not a NH, Guncrafter, Ed Brown or STI

like just about everything else in life.....ya gets what ya pay for
