how's 'bout this.....my Wife bundled-up, went out and fed the Horses, broke and discarded the Ice from all 3 water troughs.....and then did poop detail and cleaned the trailer (I picked a winner, this time  :th_thicon_idea:)

This worked for me when I had stock out in West Texas where it gets this cold and stays cold pretty regular on the plains.

Depending on how big your water trough is
3-4 gallon milk jugs a 1/4 full of water and rock salt in it. jugs in the water. Stock will keep them moving and the salt will prevent freezing.
Don't get them so heavy they can bob blow surface and lid leak so they sink.
Carry 24-7 or Guess right.

Got up to a nice and pleasant 79 degrees yesterday outside.  :th_thicon_idea:

Yep, Temp is better, but raining and forecast shows 6 more rainy days.
With all the rain this year, you would think I'm caught-up inside:
(All rifles clean.  Reloading caught-up.  2 bathrooms painted.)

NOT:
Still have an oil change to do this week
& got more painting on some baseboards.
So I'm not out of inside stuff yet.

We are suppose to get hammered again today and tomorrow from thunderstorms. It got cloudy enough, that the outside security light came on. Temps are in the low 70's right now.

Funny shows precip100% and sun is out partly cloudy.
Supposedly about 10pm.
I am thinking the worst stays north of the SA metro.

Well we got hammered with lots of rain and wind in the county. It wasn't that bad around here at the house, but we were without electricity for about 32 hours. Many of the residents in the county were without power and water for about 24 hours, and some of the more rural areas of the county won't have electricity until sometime today.

We had a warm rain here in PA last week. The frost is just about out of the ground, and that warm rain made the grass turn green. This is April showers, so everything in the lawn is like soup. Water squishing up everywhere.
I did manage to get a few oats planted today around an apple tree the deer had trampled into mud..
Still only a high of 65,, but thats just dandy compared to what we had even a week ago when it was still spitting snow.

We hit the upper 70's today, nice breeze blowing and clear skies above. Was a really nice day outside today. Suppose to be the same tomorrow.

So Happy Easter to all and your families and that it's a great Easter Sunday for everyone.

It's darkened up enough outside that the automatic security light just came on. Thunder is rumbling and it looks like it's fixing to be another turd-floater gully-washer!

anytime we get lots of rain, we end up with plenty of swamp. the only thing missing are the alligators!

oh there's gators in that area. any mud hole between the trinity and neches has one somewhere.
seen at least one in ioni creek. seen 'em in catfish creek

They have been spotted around here before. They aren't common, but they do exist.

So if one were to take up residence in the backyard swamp, it would be a huge surprise!  :wave1:

We got a little rain this morning early, then it cleared out by late morning. Sunshine in the afternoon, and quite pleasant outside too. Transplanted a couple tomato plants, and a cactus plant to the front yard.
