It has rained every day here in deep east Texas.
My shop work is caught up. I am getting Cabin Fever.
How bout ever body else??????????

Except for a couple isolated storms all the wet stuff for the last week has been east of Brazos County.

North Central PA has been hovering around ZERO ,or below, for almost 3 weeks.

Today we had 55 degree's and sunny.

ALL the snow & ice melted.
I got my whole road melted off. Had my Kubota out and scraped the berms up and melted off.
The rain gutters on the house, garage & barn all melted out.

Started up all my different equipment and left everything run about 15 minutes to warm up and charge the batteries.
Swept the salt & coal ashes off the steps & sidewalk.
Got the garden hose out and hoses the salt & mud off the vehicles we been running.
Hosed the salt of the one deck.
Had the German Shepherds out most of the day allowing them to run around our property while I was playing on the tractor.

Beautiful day here. A January thaw. And I took advantage of it.

Supposed to go back to crap in a few days.

I have lived in Deep East Texas so long and got old here that I could never go back to the cold I grew up in on the South Plains.
We have had several winters here that never got below 30 and those nights were very few.

anytime we get lots of rain, we end up with plenty of swamp. the only thing missing are the alligators!

I am in SA and we have had several decent days since the new year. Twas a rad cool then.
Been a few days since any rain and the last one was not much at all.

However I suspect at some point during the spring you will see a display of the SA intelligence quota when they are showing on the news al the high water rescues from the same low water crossings that have flooded in SA forever.

It WILL happen.

Well the sun is shinning throu my East Window this morning. Cold out (27) here. Thank you Lord I will be able to get outside today. Got some stuff I can do on the rocks in front of the house till the ground dries out some next few days.

I'll take rain, or better yet - heat and humidity, all day long over this b.s. cold and wind

got a lot of outside chores than have to be done, everyday and I don't like being miserable because of the weather

nor do I like buying Propane every other week to keep the furnace going 24hrs a day - I'd rather pay for a/c electricity

i too do prefer heat and humidity over cold and wind. my problem is that every year, the heat and humidity hit me worse than the year before. use to be as long as i stayed hydrated, the heat and humidity didn't bother me too bad. now, not so much, regardless of how much i drink.

It is 13:00 and the cold and wind kept me inside yesterday. No nap but not tired and cant sleep. I too will take the heat and humidity of Deep East Texas over this.
The electric bill is awful in the winter too.

Well its currently 35 or so in SA.
I will be out up on the roof finishing installing the metal I went with this time.
Hate cold but the work wont do itself and need it done.
Prefer hot weather ( not so much the humidity) over the cold but bundle up works well enough and come inside occasionally.

Me too. Been out to the shop to turn the heater on. 24 there and walk to it pretty cold. Had to thaw the lock but like you,
Didn't take long. Got a project after it warms up some.

how's 'bout this.....my Wife bundled-up, went out and fed the Horses, broke and discarded the Ice from all 3 water troughs.....and then did poop detail and cleaned the trailer (I picked a winner, this time

) - this while I sat inside, warm, and fixed a Ham and Egg Sandwich for myself

Conroe Convention Center has a Gun Show this weekend - I'm gonna go (after lunch, 'cause the parking "opens up" when the early birds leave) - just need a WRB woven nylon holster for the new 5.7 (but, of course, I'll be "looking" at most of the other stuff

)

my Wife is off, again, to the SPCA to see what Puppies can be adopted and "brought home"

cold weather is hitting pretty hard this year! had to buy more hay for the dog's bedding, and finally got some heat lamp bulbs from Tractor Supply for them. got the wind breaks up that i put up every year on the front porch for them a well.
