New kid intro

Real name Jerry Young.
Took papabear in honor of close friend that died bout a year ago. Have been longtooth since my 1st gun board. That one is in use here.
Age: 68 in 2 weeks, Found forum w/ internet search. Remember Shipwreck from Texas Gun Talk I think. Aint been there in several years.
LEO - No but an avid supporter like many here. Big Blue line on front bumper. Tailgate says Support the (a Blue Line 24"wide and 2" tall. "Carry 24-7 or guess right.")
Military - No again. They would not take me in '68. Dad was Greatest Generation Combat Vet in the Pacific Theater. Wife's Dad Communications Vet worked on Japanese codes, raised Air Force retiree, DIL is Navy vet, grandson in the Navy now stationed in Guam, Had an Uncle the made all 3. WWII Army Air Corp over Germany, Korea, and Viet Nam. We always said Uncle Dick was so tough Germans could not get him w/ flack, Migs could not shoot him down, but Agent Orange got him.
1st post date probably about '98 or 99. Old forum packing.org
Personal Intro now: Country Boy out of little town in Deep East Texas. I wave the flag publicly, am not politically correct at all, Love Jesus for changing my life, Already see several from East Texas area.
Open Carry unless posted 30.07 and then don't go there unless I have too.

Carry gun is Ruger GP100 .357 w/ 2 HKS speed loaders, like leather over kydex. (have some but like leather best)

Also in my mid 60s and  like you I prefer the wheel gun for CC. Colt Detective Special with one speedl loader. Safariland/Bianchi OWB leather holster with thump snap retainer.

somebody posted that statement on another forum years ago,
made me laugh so much, I almost fell out of my chair.

There was an argument about self defense, castle law and still getting arrested afterwards.....   some other states are just plain scary.

Yes 308nato the scope mount worked great. Don't still have it. Cancer is expensive. The 14 ws way too heave for me then so I sold it. Harvested some deer meat w/ it before I cratered. Got the shooters back in shape now and the safe as full as this old man needs it. Glad to see you again too.

Not far at all. We will need get together and visit, shoot some, drink some coffee, shoot, share some old yarns, go to the range, tell new stories if you're a lot younger than me, make noise and smell smoke, get acquainted and maybe go to Angelina Rifle and Pistol club where I am a member and shoot a little.

Is the picture of some of your kin??? If so we come from the same background. Looks a lot like some pics I have from Grand Parents and an Uncle on Dad's side.
