Who wants a peacock??
« on: April 04, 2017, 07:05:14 PM »
I have a female peacock hanging around my house that I can't get rid of, been here about a year now. I've called animal control, they said if I catch it they will take it. I've called a couple farms that deal with such birds and I was given the exact same line. It shits all over my front porch and it sits and shits on all my vehicles. So if anyone wants it come and get it, I've read peacocks are kind of tasty.

How about donating it to a zoo?  It's theirs if they come and get it.  How about putting it on Craigs List for $500, free if they take it today?

Or, as another nuisance dog was causing my dad a problem years ago, they took it out into the country about 30 miles from their home and dropped him off.  Never saw him again.

Doesn't your local Walmart need one as a greeter?

No thanks  as I and my neighbors put up with 6 of them after Katrina.
Finally after about a week we found someone to trap and take them and yeah what a mess they would. make.

that kind of stuff chaps me. a lady near here leaves cat food out 24/7 and
not only attracts "her"cats, but all the strays and sometimes possums and
rats all the time and every kind of vermin you could think of. she has to have
the exterminator over monthly for fleas.

Not that I would advocate violence of any type, especially against animals, but I've been seeing CCI Quiet .22 LR quite frequently at my local Academy. Over the years I have used them quite effectively on a few armadillos & possums, 1 moccasin and two copperheads that decided to take up residency on my property without a proper invite and ignored all attempts to have them leave without force. Those rounds barely register a whisper out of a long barrel .22. :P

I expect you also have mice if you have a peacock.
Why not put our mouse and rat traps and see if that helps.

We did have an empty field behind our house but it's been cleared out for a couple weeks now, they're getting ready to build something just not sure. The exterminator put out traps but they're still empty.

I'd put the rat and mouse traps on the front porch.  My guess is you won't have any rats or, shortly, a peacock.
