Renewals
« on: January 06, 2017, 09:37:02 AM »
Anyone renew their CHL since the new laws sometime back, that dont require retaking the class, etc?

Just got my notice that I am due.

It appears we just need to get a couple forms notarized. Is that correct?

I just went online and verified some information and paid. Nothing to it.

My last renewal was 100% done online, if I remember right. I had already taken the class like 4x at that point. I just paid.

I think if you have taken the class 2x or 3x (I forget which - it's been a while) you no longer have to take it

They changed the law to where you didnt have to retake the class a few years ago (2013).. Last time I renewed was prior to the law change.

It will be, the law change means that no one has to do the class again for a renewal.
Just go apply for renewal online and pay and you have permission from the state for a few more years to exercise your right to bear arms.

That is what I thought. BEFORE that last change, though, there was a change that allowed people who took the class X number of times to skip it. I fell into that. But yes, now no class is needed.

Yeah, previously they made it so that you had to take the class every other renewal, which was an improvement, but now not having to ever take it again is much nicer.
