Do yall use textured or smooth grips for IWB carry? I prefer smooth grips. I'm looking at the VZ 320s or the ETC-Frags, but I'm still wary that they're not going to be smooth enough.

I use the grips that comes with the gun but I also have an undershirt on when I carry.

I use an undershirt to avoid the grips bugging me.

i wear an undershirt maybe 4 times a year. yes, four. i don't want to have to change my wardrobe lol

these are designed to be smooth on all the areas that touch your skin:

my Raasco grips are similar, and designed to do the same thing. but damn they feel like 100-grit sandpaper and they still rub my skin raw:

those grips are nice.  i'm trying to look for a set that are thin, but have not found any that i like.

Talk to Larry Davidson. He will make you custom grips. Really great guy. Just sent him an email with what you want exactly. You can even send him designs you want on it.

The 320s are not aggressive at all they are very easy to carry with.

Also any G10 grips can be easily sanded down with some fine grit sandpaper. Even on my more aggressive grips there are certain spots that I like to knock down a bit so they don't run my hand raw after long shooting sessions.

My holster is leather backed but the butt of the pistol still rubs my hip so I usually wear an undershirt and that solves all problems.

My local shop has another Springfield MC Operator in stock. They don't pop up too often anymore.

I previously had one, but sold it to help buy an Ed Brown I once owned.

Anyway, it keeps calling to me. I had added a magwell to the one I owned before. I think its the only sub $1600 1911 that interests me. The one I had before was made VERY tight. Great gun. It had less recoil than the Ed Brown I got to replace it - because of the heavier railed frame...

But, I'm on new gun hiatus  - Don't needa go there. Already spent all my extra $ for an upcoming trip to Turks and Caicos. After 16 years of nons top gun buying, I wanna start taking some vacations instead, now that I am older...

Still, that Mc Operator is nice  :thumbsup1:

This is the one I prev had:

Not gonna happen. Not ditching any of my Berettas.  :P

I had two very high end 1911s last, when I decided I liked the Berettas more. But eventually, I will probably buy another 1911 :)

go with one of a kind custom builder... like venden berg custom in webster (http://www.vandenbergcustom.com/index.html).  heard he's pretty good.  if i do another 1911, it'll be a wilson and that's it.  that's a nice piece ship... i dig the two tones, the black and green looks good.
