Why more rounds and shot placement matter
« on: May 09, 2016, 06:57:41 AM »
When people ask you why you carry a spare magazine or two point them to this story. A suspect attacking an officer took 14 rounds of 45 and still pressed the attack and it took three final shots to the head, for a total of 17, to end the encounter.

Yes, but he was a cop. That's a little different than most of us.

I personally find carrying an extra mag more uncomfortable than carrying a gun.

I used to carry a 9mm Shield with the shorter mag. Now, I carry an Hk P2000 with 13 rounds. Not quite - but close to double what I had before. Honestly, I don't bother with an extra mag.

If someone had a revolver, they would probably only have 1 reload on them... Which is about equal to what I have

I work CPS in some pretty crummy neighborhoods and this has been my daily loadout below for sometime. I may start carrying the Legion and 224 to replace them. However, if a gun is taken after an incident for an investigation, I'd prefer it to be a cheap Glock rather than an expensive SIG; so, I may not replace the Glocks.

Have you ever looked around at the group of people you are in and thought, "If the Zombie Apocalypse happens right now, this is what I have to work with."?

A clearly unappreciated lawman.

Wouldn't that make him  the original "1 shot 1 kill guy"?

This woman needed just one shot to stop the nice young man breaking into her house: http://kxan.com/2016/01/12/intruder-shot-during-dripping-springs-home-invasion/

Bet that hurt like hell...
This gun is liberty; hold for certain that the day when you no more have it, you will be returned to slavery.
