I went about 10 years ago - I drove from College Station. I did not think it was worth the drive. It is a smaller venue... .

After that 1 trip - I only go to the larger, Houston gunshows.

Now, if you are not that far away - then sure. But for me, it was a 2 hours drive....

I'm like Ship. Don't do the smaller venues anymore, even if they are close, or even local.

Last few smaller venues I attended, idiots wanted new price for used guns and equipment, and old wore stuff was thought by sellers as automatically as expensive historical antiques, and the resulting price that followed them!

I like the Pasadena Show and I generally like the smaller venues with free, easy parking.

But, I'm generally more interested in guns that have been out of production for years.  I also like to see offerings at hobbiest tables - e.g. the DW Pistol Pack dude I see a couple times a year.

I'm with you. Smaller venues with free parking. With entrance fee your out $20 or more before you go through the door. Screw that.

Went there once and that was enough for me .

If I am going to buy, it is usually something specific. And, it is not something old - but a current gun. I've saved a good bit of money, in the past. I like the larger shows

One of these days I'm going to make a road trip to one of Wanenmacher's Tulsa Oklahoma gun shows. They have two a year. Usually have a minimum of 4 thousand vendors. That would be worth it to me.

I went to a huge, huge gun show in the Astrohall in Houston. First gunshow ever - back in 1996 or 97. They don't have 'em nearly that big here anymore. I was so amazed

I remember those! Awesome gun shows and HUGE! I first started going well in the late 1980's with best friend. Bought quite few guns there over the years.

Well, I moved to Texas in Feb 1996. I think it was the summer or so of 1996 when I went...

I remember that it took me like 2 hours to make it thru the whole show, going up and down each aisle

We would get there about nine ten in the morning and browse until four or five in the afternoon. Usually we had certain guns we were looking to buy, but there were always guns that caught our interest, and if the price was right......

There were always lots new gun dealers, and prices would vary widely on the new guns from dealer to dealer.

I usually stocked up on pistol ammo at the gun show.

I bought my first Beretta model 96 in 40 S&W at that gun show.  Also bought my first Colt AR 15 there as well. That was way back before there were a lot of options for buying an AR.

Interesting, I bought my first AK at one in Phoenix, where you could also buy 1440 rounds of 7.62 x 39 for $79....
I'm guessing we won't see that anytime again soon.
