The OFFICIAL FN Thread!!
« on: April 29, 2011, 06:37:29 AM »
Now that we have no "Groups" anymore, I thought I'd start these threads... Previously, there was a "group" for each manufacturer... One could talk about that brand and/or post pics.

Anyway, if ya got a FN and are proud of it, this is the place to do a yee haw or post up a pic or whatever!

Went to the range today with my 5.7 for the second time.  SHot 100 rounds and am starting to get the feel of the trigger.  When I d my job I get a 2"group at 30'  When I don't it shoots to 8 o'clock.

Great shooter and easy to keep on target.

Had one small hiccup; the spring from the mag release came loose (weird) and I had to refit.  Not easy without a good pair of pliers.  I was able to refit with my Swiss Army knife.

I'm feeling snakebit on auto-loaders and all their springs.  My PX-4 ejected/lost the mag lock spring and I'm waiting for a replacement.

Anyway, I really like the feel of the 5.7 and hope to make it my EDC to replace my PF-9.

Off topic for FN - but, if ya can get the spring before the reliant gunshow, I will be in Houston and can fix that PX4 for ya

Not sure what was off topic; the PX-4 comment was an aside.  Sorry for the confusion.

The comment on the mag release spring was a problem with the 5.7; the spring flipped out for who knows what reason and I was able to retrieve it and re-fit(with some difficulty).  The folks are Spring Guns and Ammo were very helpful; supplying a pair of pliers(didn't work).  But my Swiss Army knife was the final fixer due to the close quarters with the area around the spring.

The 5.7 is a great shooter and I hope to become more proficient with it. Still learning.  Glad for this forum. Thanks guys.

Also, another side; the grips are not the most comfortable.  I'll try for a few more sessions but may have to look for alternatives.

Yeah.  I gotta do that.  I'm pretty lame in doing those kinds of things.  I'll work on it this week.

Sorry.  Still learning the protocols of this site.  It seems if you make a comment you must post a pic of the gun.  Got it.  I'm more accustomed to dialogue only.

No, I was just joking... I had the other "Official" threads, and ya asked me to start this one. I just thought ya might throw up a photo. No big deal...

I'm not a techie, so I'll try  to get one up.  My FsN is pretty plain vanilla, but is a good shooter when I do my job right.  And I really like that it comes back on target really quickly.  It's very sensitive though to grip and follow-through.  More time on the range.  I've ordered a IWB for EDC where I can tuck my shirt.  More on that when it arrives(in 3-4 weeks).  Like the site.  Thanks.

So I waded through the instructions to post these.  Plain vanilla FiveseveN.  Good shooter.

Note the comparison of the FiveseveN round to a 9mm.

The mag holds 20.  Three mags with the gun.  :th_thicon_idea:

I got one but mine is old school. Guess not many people liked the original trigger guard style

My 1992 Israeli surplus FN Hi-Power is currently under the knife.

Having all internals replaced with Cylinder & Slide parts (hammer, sear, safety, all springs). Also getting the whole pistol re-parkerized and adding a set of Herrett cocobolo grips.

When I get it back from Match Grade Arms....I'll post photos.

It has always been a fantastic shooter...now it will really sing! LOL
