Cool. Over on the Beretta Forum we have several flashlight threads - 4 or 5 of them. After they got to be 20+ pages long, we'd start a new one so people wouldn't have to wade thru all those pages. Between Age Ranger and myself, we have gotten a lot of flashlights sold from Illumination Gear :)

Question for Ship. Do you know if that Fusion 36 will work with a 3 cell rechargeable Mag-Lite?
Also, is there something like that, that will work on a rechargeable Streamlight Stinger?
Thanks

I honestly do not know if it will work in a rechargable maglight. I would look thru that thread on Candle Power Forum, but I do not recall anyone claiming they had that setup. You could question the seller on eBay, but he may not know.

I am just using a 3D cell maglight that I got for like $15 a few years ago. It will work with C and D size maglights, I do know that for sure.

I do not believe it will work with the Steamlight Stinger, because other drop in LED modules for Maglights never mention the stinger. I've seen Stinger upgrade LEDs, and they are sold as ONLY for Stingers.

Yep. I emailed the seller. I'm thinkin' it won't work. The rechargeable ones are just different. But, I do have a regular 3-D cell . I'll check on the Stinger unit upgrade at Ebay.

I don't think it will work either...

As for the stinger, there is an option for a TLE-ST/XT MiniStarST - Upgrade for Streamlight® Stinger and Stinger XT - 220 Emitter Lumen Cree LED at the Illumination Gear site. It's about 3/4 down the page, listed among other items... Here: http://www.illuminationgear.com/242782.html

I bought an Eagle Tac PC20P2MKII  from Illumination Gear.Com and it's one bright sob.  I believe it is rated at 400 lumins and will light up my whole backyard.  Good service from those folks as well.

Well I used nothing but Maglights. They never failed me on a preflight in 2 in the morning and it is one of the most common gift I ever gave out for Xmas.
Oh come on.....if you paid thousands of dollars for the very best, top grade 1911 and some clown comes along and beats you with a $400 plastic pistol, wouldn't you hate Glocks too?-

You gotta get one of these small LEDs, man. It out classes the big maglights by several factors. When you first compare a maglight against one, you are blown away.

I am a fan of the Streamlight PT-2L so I wrote them to ask about using the 18650 battery. They were borderline rude in the way they said "NOT unless you want to VOID your warranty!"

I replied "That's why I asked."

Must have been a very bad day for them.

The American brands aren't as "in" to using these newer lithium ion batteries.

But, two primary 123 cells are 6 volts. A lithium ion battery is 3.7 volts (4.2 when fully charged). So, using an 18650 should be fine - it will have less voltage.

Be aware, however, the the body of a flashlight much be bored a bit bigger to fit an 18650...

But if it's not, there is still the 17670. I use one io my Eagletac P20C2 Mk II. It is the same size as two 123s stacked on top of each other...

So, shouldn't the lens be up-graded to glass? If so, who's got it? Besides Mag
I'm talking 3-D cell size.

My 2 mag lights do not have glass lenses. But all of my small LED lights do.

You don't really see D cell lights too much in the LED form factor - at least not with the latest tech - maybe in cheaper models.

Fenix and a few others make lights of similar size, but many of them just use multiple AA's in a cylinder

What about that Fusion 36 deal. Can I still use regular D cells?
I'm kinda green on this topic.
All I know, is the rechargeable Mag, is much brighter than the regular.

Oh, I didn't realize you were talking about that - the upgrade.

It actually keeps the lens and head from the maglight. You are just replacing the reflector and inside light bulb.

Yes, you can keep the D cells. I thought we were talking about lights of similar size to the maglight

Still, I'd like to replace the plastic lens, with glass. I think they're both the same diameter.
Guess I could always check one against the other. I have both.
