Any Beretta fans?
« on: May 18, 2019, 12:34:47 PM »
There are tons of past threads here about all sorts of stuff. But, I know there are some newer people here. So, I thought I would start another new thread...

Everyone here for a while knows that the Beretta 92 is my favorite gun of all time.

Anyone else here own a Beretta 92? Do you use it for carry?

I carried one 365 days a year for 3 years - almost a decade ago. But, I will admit that it was NOT very comfortable, with the weight.

Huge fan of the Model 92's and Model 96's. My only gripe about them, is the width of the grip area. Unless you have huge hands, or long fingers like I do, they can be a bit thick to hold in the hand.

I have found all the Beretta pistols I have owned in the past to be well made and quite accurate. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. If I did buy another one, it would be the M9 though. The first series without the rail underneath.

I have a M9 (basically a 92FS with more slippery magazines) that is a solid straight shooter, well balanced and fun to shoot.  The only thing I like about my Sig 229 and 226 better are the 'short reset triggers'.
But as Ship noted, it's not a lightweight gun.

My first carry gun was a 92 model and I still have it to this day.

I'm not sure if I'm a fan yet.  I had an older 92F police trade in from Louisiana over a decade ago and eventually sold it.  I just picked up a used M9 and had Blackjack gunsmithing install a decocker kit from Beretta.  I watched the YouTube video on intallation and decided it was easier to pay the $35 for someone else to do it.  Especially since I don't have a dedicated work shop in the rental we're in now.

One of these days I'll get out to the range with it, but for now I have so many other guns that need to be shot.  Like the S&W Model 30 3inch I just bought.
I'm on the 7 day weekend plan.  I'm retired!!
