Any HK fans?
« on: May 18, 2019, 12:33:33 PM »
There are tons of past threads here about all sorts of stuff. But, I know there are some newer people here. So, I thought I would start another new thread.

Anyone else here an HK fan? I have two, but have owned 10 or 11 over the years. My main carry gun is an HK P2000. Anyone else carry an HK?

No question they make excellent but expensive weapons.

Well true Tarosean, but it was something I saved for over 6 years, then  :jumping: Motorola  :jumping:  provided a generous bonus that covered the remaining cost (plus ammo)  :auto: :th_smiley-stargate014:

:th_Texas_flag:

:smiley054:

:th_icon_cowbell:

And, I paid a lot less than you may think.  Barrett gives new dealers a ***SMOKING DEAL*** on 2 rifles.  I got lucky and got one of these deals at about 1/3 off.  If you want one, look for a new Barrett dealer that got 'the deal'.

Yea, those H&K's are really nice but still $$$$.   :scream3:

I'll be honest, H&K is one brand of firearms that I have little experience with. I have handled a few in the past, and they seemed rather well made, but as mentioned a little on the pricy side.

Except for the USP line, they lowered their prices quite a bit. Like maybe $200 off the price from about 2 or 3 years ago. So, not as expensive as they used to be

Son carried a HK45 as a duty weapon for 15 years before going to a CZ SP 01 9mm with the hi cap mag last year. He bought it from a DPS Sergeant who had carried for some time. It's had some custom work done to the internals and trigger.

I don't have a pistol in 45 ACP as, truthfully, I have never been able to shoot that caliber well, or any large caliber automatic. My son's HK is without a doubt the best 45 ACP I have ever shot. I couldn't believe how accurate I was with it. Thought about buying one for my self and rented one at the range but the stock model just wasn't the same. Nice gun though and expensive.

If we have a meet this fall I have to remember to bring it along and you can judge for yourself.

I think I've owned the following HKs over the years...

HK45, HK45c, P30L, USPc45, USP 9mm, USP 9mm (yes, a second one years later), USPc 9mm, P2000, P2000sk, P2000 (I bought one again because I missed it - it is my current carry gun)

Out of all of them, the P2000 has been my favorite.

The P2000 and USPc 9mm are very close to being clones, but not quite. I shoot the P2000 better than the USPc 9mm.

I have a P2000 and P2000sk right now. The sk model is my favorite subcompact I have owned (and, I've owned many, many of them over the years)

Agree with Ship; P2000 is a great carry weapon. I have it as my main EDC with a P30 and P30SK in the stable as well.  I had a USP .45C  but couldn’t find the love with it.  All are great shooters and I find the P2000 to be a better trigger than the others. YMMV.  Presently thinking of adding a P45C but need to save my pennies.  Would by a 10mm in USP or as a P10 in a New York minute.  BTW all mine are DA/SA.

Thanks Ship. :th_thicon_idea:

That is good info. Like I said, I have very little experience with them personally, but have read many fine reports and reviews of their products over the years. One day I may need to check them out again.

My favorite H&K is my USP Tactical .45 ACP.  Although its almost too big for every day although I do have both a shoulder holster and an OWB holster for it.

I always wanted a USP in 45 - and I rented one a couple of times. But my hands are just too small for the grip
