greetings from Austin, Tx.
« on: April 23, 2019, 02:26:02 PM »
I found this forum while on the Beretta Forum today so I will post part of the introduction that I made there here.

I grew up in West Texas and shot quite a bit in my younger days but found other things to occupy my time as I got older so shooting sadly slipped away. Luckily for me, my father in law rejuvenated my interest in shooting a couple of years ago when he gave me a S&W MP 40 and while he really enjoyed trap and skeet, I never got involved with it but still enjoyed going to the range and getting to shoot the nice collection he had. He sadly passed away last month after a brief battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, but he and I enjoyed some time together before that going through his collection, and he passed down some really nice ones to me.

The rest of my collection consists of:
Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm carbine
Mossberg MC1sc
Walther PPQ M2
Glock 21 SF
Glock 42
Sig Sauer P320 Compact 9mm
Browning Buck Mark Plus Lite 22lr
S&W AirLite Model 351PD .22 WMR Revolver
Intratec TEC-22
Ruger Mark IV 22 Lite
Volquartsen Scorpion 4.5" 22lr
High Standard AR15
S&W M&P 15 AR15
Extar EP9 (on order)

Welcome Captain Kirk!  :wave1:

I'm a bit east of you over here in East Texas. Welcome to the forum. Sorry about the loss of your FIL, but it's nice he rekindled your love of firearms and shooting.

Welcome from Brazos County.  :th_thicon_idea:
Sad to hear about your father in law. My FIL passed 27 years ago and I also inherited some pistols. An RG .38, Arminus .38 and a Llama .380. Total value about $175. I was afraid to shoot the .38's and sold them both for less than $100 and gave the .380 to my brother.
I like 9mm carbines, have two, and have had my eye on the Extar EP9 for awhile now. If you get a chance post a range report.

Thanks and I will definitely post my thoughts on the EP9 when I get it. It was approved yesterday through my FFL and it says it will ship in 1 to 2 weeks after FFL confirmation.

I'm also thinking about ordering a Beretta APX Compact so I can take advantage of the $75 rebate and then compare it to my Sig P320 Compact.

I didn't end up getting an APX Compact but have enjoyed shooting my new Mossberg MC1sc and am looking forward to my Extar EP9 coming in next week hopefully. I am also looking forward to trying out the new Beretta APX Carry so I am hoping that one of the ranges I go to will have one.
