What would YOUR wife / GF do?

This reminded me of stories we’d hear while living in Saudi Arabia, except the stories indicated black eyes and bloody noses were acceptable forms of correction.  Some Saudis were surprised Americans in general didn’t daily / weekly (or ever) beat their wives.

My wife knows how to shoot so that's an issue that's never been explored.

I'm not Muslim, so I was taught never to put my hands on a woman in anger, or uninvited.

Besides, I have to sleep sometime, and the wife has her own guns. Being shot, would be preferable to being done like John Bobbit!  :scream3:

I also was taught the same way and my wife is very strong willed and knows how to shoot.

My first wife was a slapper and a hitter, and tried to use my upbringing against me. Well, I warned her several times, she was going to push my limits one time too many, and I would rectify her behavior and learn her some manners. Well she did! I took her across my knees, and paddled her bottom until my hand was red and sore. I told her if she wanted to act like a little child, I'd treat her like one. She said she would file assault charges on me. I said. good, you can show all the nice officers where the bruises are, because they have to take pictures, and document it for a police report!

i watched a fictional story on television one time about
a woman that was beaten and raped and generally
abused by her husband regularly some time after they
were married.
the woman i was with at the time was very much affected
by it and was quiet and sullen after the abuse on the show
started. she was quiet and didn't say two words all the way
to the time we went to bed. i was nearly asleep when she
kinda nudged me and asked if i were asleep. i turned to her
and she told me that if i ever treated her like the woman in
show, she would wait until i was asleep some time and heat
up a skillet full of hot grease and pour it all over me.
not much sleep for me after that.

There was woman convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and murder by hire for the death of her abusive husband. Now it was well documented by police reports of many cases of her dead husband having abused and assaulting her for quite some time.

But what got her the conviction was that she tried to hire someone to kill her husband. IMO, with it being well documented, and I were sitting on the jury, had she killed her husband herself, not hiring someone to do the dirty deed, I would have voted not guilty in a heartbeat. She screwed up legally when she tried to have the job hire out to be done IMO.

Years ago a local woman shot her husband 6x (he lived, 22 LR) and was charged with attempted murder. My wife was picked for the jury.
Woman claimed she was in fear of her life and also admitted during the trial that she would have shot him again if she hadn't run out of ammo. Defense attorney presented evidence that the in the last five years local police had resounded to 8 domestic disturbance calls at that residence. Police records also indicated that during five of those calls they noted the woman had sustained minor injuries. Reasonable doubt. She walked.

This was long before the law was passed that if a person sustained injury as the result of a domestic argument the aggressor gets arrested and is held in jail for 48 hours.

Alte, I would have voted not guilty and offered to buy her a larger capacity gun!

I would have a slightly modified response, and probably given / loaned / sold for $1 her a 9mm.  That's ridiculous what she went through.

She always let the guy back into her life and refused to press chargers. Admitted on the stand that were again living together and he was a "good man" when he wasn't drinking. Ahhh...L'amour.

I'm not an expert on psychology by any means, but she sounds like a case of being emotionally abused as much as physically abused. Sounds like her self-esteem and confidence has been eroded or stripped away, to the point she feels she can't live without her husband, and her entire existence depends upon him.

And IMO, until she has changed her viewpoint and outlook on life, she is just on really bad merry-go round of her life.
