I am not sure this is the appropriate location for this post..If It is, Please let me know MOds

I am writing to warn everyone of a scamster who almost robbed me yesterday had it not been for my Pistol w me in the car
He is a young black thug about 19-23 yrs of age about 6 ft tall and lanky( not being racist..I have friends of all colors)
He had advertised the iphone 4 for $ 350 on Craigslist and did not include his phone number in the ad( which is  281-826-2928)
Asks for you to contact him by email only. Which I did and he asked me for my phone number.(his email is : 2freemula@gmail.com [nofollow] )
then he starts texting me and asking me to meet. he changed locations twice.
finally he told me to meet him at CAMDEN APTS on WESTHEIMER and KIRKWOOD
I go there he meets me in the parking lot, we do the exchange and he then remembers he has data on the phone he needs to download
he asks me for the phone for a few minutes.
I ask him for the money back so he can have it back when he brings the phone back
Surprisingly, he gave me the money back and went up to the apartment w the phone.
In the meanwhile, I got into my car and waited for him.
He comes back down in less than 5 minutes..( red flag...)
I am sitting in the Driver seat and ask him to come around to the passenger side window which I opened halfway
He asks for the money and I ask him to hand give me the phone. by this time, I had seriously started to think this guy was just trying to rob me So, I reach down and open up the little compartment that I have between the driver and passenger seats in my car where I keep my CZ P07.
Thats when he un successfully reaches inside the car and tries to grab the money off my hand.
once he does that he backs away and I thought he was reaching for something in his back pocket/waistband
Thats when I grab my pistol inside the little compartment in my car. I didnt pull it out but was just a hair away from doing that.
I am not sure if he saw me grab for something and decided it was not worth it, or just thought I was not an easy prey,
whatever the reason, he just told me " go on go " and just ran off behind the building.
I can take care of myself and luckily did not get robbed or get hurt but I am sure he would have not let it go had he thought I was easy pickings
just letting everyone know,
this bastard is out there and he is trying to rob anyone he can
be careful

Dang man, youve got his number and his email. That should be plenty for the cops to track him down, but im not a cop and I base that on nothing. If he was using the Iphone he was acting like he was selling you it has a GPS in it. File a police report on his arse.  :th_thicon_lol:

Glad you got out ok and that you thought to protect yourself with  the most effective means.  :th_thicon_idea:

This story is similar to one I read in another houston forum a while back. Can't remember which one. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Glad it worked out the way it did.

I know we have some LEO on this forum hopefully one will pm you and get you connected with the right department and agency. The clock is ticking and the sooner they can start the better.

But, did you report it to the police? If not, why not?

Glad you were not hurt.

Thanks for posting this.  We all need to be super careful when buying or selling to strangers.

Glad it didn't go south.  When I sell things like this "I ALWAYS DECIDE WHERE THE LOCATION TO MEET IS"  Most of the time at a public place, mall etc. with the wife in the area as back up if things get hinkey.

Yep, everyone should remember to always meet in a public place to do any deals.  I like restaurants I am familiar with and I try to always name the place and time instead of letting the other party do that.  I try to be there early and ask them to call me and let me know what they're wearing so I can size them up as they enter.  I sit and talk for a minute before going out to the parking lot and making the exchange.  Excellent idea to have someone else there too, sitting in the car.

Above all, BE CAREFUL GUYS !!!!

Probably a bait-and-switch, glad everything went well for ya.
