Quote
The rage is still strong in some Trump opponents, who plan to band together to "scream helplessly at the sky" on the one-year anniversary of the 2016 election.
Facebook events around the country invite people to gather together and let out a "primal scream over the current state of our democracy" on Nov. 8.
The idea came from Boston, where people will gather in America's oldest park, the Boston Common, to scream. Other liberal cities like New York, Austin and Philadelphia picked up the idea.
...
New York organizer Nathan Wahl said he thinks "we're a bunch of exasperated people who want to feel connected."
Philadelphia organizer Philadelphia United for Progress assured that they "know we're not helpless."
Fans in Philadelphia are encouraged to scream in solidarity from their own backyard if they cannot attend.

Absolutely love the fact that these libtards are so exasperated that they plan to gather together to scream, as a way to show themselves that they are not helpless.

Just got this in a news brief:

Quote
KTRK-ABC reports that Houston ISD officials said an unloaded gun was found inside an elementary student's backpack Monday in southwest Houston. Staff at McNamara Elementary School found the weapon and called HISD police. Officers took the weapon from the student's bag and parents of the student were notified with a letter. HISD said there were no injuries, and the student faces discipline for bringing the gun to school.

The alarming portion of this to me is that "Officers took the weapon from the student's bag and parents of the student were notified with a letter.".
Really, a letter instead of dropping by the home to discuss it with the parents. Maybe see if daddy is a drug dealer with guns laying around so casually that an elementary school kid could just toss it in his backpack.

Quote
A judge in Florida ruled Monday that the state's updated "stand your ground" law, which required prosecutors to disprove a defendant's self-defense case at pretrial hearings, is unconstitutional.

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch ruled that the amendment to the law allowed lawmakers to overstep their authority, adding that it should have been crafted by the Florida Supreme Court in the first place, The Miami Herald reported.

“As a matter of constitutional separation of powers, that procedure cannot be legislatively modified,” Hirsch wrote.

So the judge has ruled that the legislature overstepped their authority by amending a law, because the Florida Supreme Court should have been the one to modify the law....because of separation of powers.....WTF

A military pilot at Houston’s Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base was injured Wednesday after ejecting from an F-16 that caught fire on the ground, the Houston Fire Department said in a pair of tweets.

The pilot was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

Fire crews were en route to Ellington “to assist” with the “downed plane,” which reportedly caught on fire just before takeoff around 10:45 a.m. local time.

Can't imagine ejecting at ground level is very fun, hope the pilot is okay.

These are the Smith & Wesson 4006TSW CHP (California Highway Patrol) .40 S&W trade-ins. These 4006TSW's are in very good to excellent condition. They ship with three 11rd magazines in a cardboard box. This model of 4006TSW is exclusive to the CHP. It has an integrated rail not found on other TSW models. Each CHP TSW pistol has a CHP prefix in the serial number.

Off Topic Discussion (NON FIREARM RELATED) / Noah 2017 (funny)
« on: April 30, 2017, 10:09:50 AM »
Quote

In the year 2017, the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in the United States, and said, “Once again the earth has become wicked and I see the end of all flesh before me. Build another ark and save two of every living thing along with a few good humans, thy sons and their wives.”

He gave Noah the blueprints, saying, “You have six months to build the ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights.”

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard — but no ark.

“Noah!” He roared, “I’m about to start the rain! Where is the ark?”

“Forgive me, Lord,” begged Noah, “but things have changed.

“I needed a building permit. I’ve been arguing with the inspector about the need for a sprinkler system. My neighbors claim that I’ve violated the neighborhood zoning laws by building the ark in my yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to go to the development appeal board for a decision.

“Then the Department of Transportation demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the ark’s move to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it.

“Getting the wood was another problem. There’s a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls — but no go!

“When I started gathering the animals, I got sued by an animal-rights group. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodation was too restrictive, and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space. I am required to apply for 834 different licenses to keep wild beasts on private property.

“Then the EPA ruled that I couldn’t build the ark until they’d conducted an environmental impact study on Your proposed flood. Further, the pitch to water-poof the ark has been banned by the EPA as inimical to the environment.

“I’m still trying to resolve a complaint with the human rights commission on how many minorities I’m supposed to hire for my building crew.

“Immigration and naturalization is checking the green-card status of most of the people who want to work. The scaffolding to build the superstructure is not OSHA-approved and is forbidden to use except for private structures less than five cubits.

“The trades unions say I can’t use my sons. They insist I have to hire only union workers with ark-building experience.

“To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets, claiming I’m trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species.

“So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 100 years for me to finish this ark.”

Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the sky. Noah looked up in wonder and asked, “You mean You’re not going to destroy the world?”

“No,” said the Lord. “The government beat me to it.”

http://americanlookout.com/there-you-go-texas-governor-greg-abbott-yanks-funding-from-sanctuary-county/

Quote
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has cut funding to Travis County, the home of the city of Austin, following through on a threat to block state grants over a new sheriff’s refusal to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

Abbott’s office said Monday it would cancel $1.8 million in grants to law enforcement programs in the county, the state capital and the University of Texas’s flagship campus. The governor said he is asking state agencies to identify other grants to the county that he could also block.

The cuts come as Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez, newly elected in November, begins implementing a new policy blocking deputies from asking anyone they apprehend about their immigration status. Hernandez has also said her office will not hold undocumented immigrants in county jails after they complete sentences for minor crimes, even if asked by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

"Stand your ground" defense rightfully denied. Sounds like this retired police captain just didn't like the fact that the victim wouldn't "respect my authoritah!", and tried to justify it after the fact with BS.

It's taken me 2 years to figure out what parts I wanted to build my "dream" gun.
Towards the end, I went with mil-spec lower parts, other than fire control group, because I couldn't decide on better options.

One sunny day in January, 2017, an old man approaches the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue where he’d been sitting on a park bench.
He speaks to the U.S. Marine standing guard and says, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine looks at the man and says, “Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.”
The old man says, “Okay,” and walks away.
The following day the same man approaches the White House and says to the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine again tells the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.”
The man thanks him and again walks away.
On the third day, the same man approaches the White House and speaks to the very same U.S. Marine, saying, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”
The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looks at the man and says, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Obama. I’ve told you already that Mr. Obama is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don’t you understand?”
The old man looks at the Marine and says, “Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.”
The Marine snaps to attention, salutes, and says, “See you tomorrow, Sir!”

Quote

A proposal for California to secede from the United States was submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office Thursday.

The proposed “Calexit” initiative - its name borrowed from the UK's "Brexit" departure from the EU - would ask voters to repeal part of the state constitution that declares California an inseparable part of the U.S.

A recent poll found that one in three California residents would support a possible secession from the U.S. due to their opposition to President Trump. No mention has been made of the president in the proposal.

...

In our view, the United States of America represents so many things that conflict with Californian values, and our continued statehood means California will continue subsidizing the other states to our own detriment, and to the detriment of our children," the Yes campaign's website says.

Similar attempts to establish California as a nation, or break it into multiple states, have failed.

The proposed constitutional amendment, titled California Nationhood, would also ask voters to repeal language that states the U.S. Constitution is the supreme law. If approved, it calls for scheduling a vote in 2019 to ask voters, "Should California become a free, sovereign and independent country?"

"America already hates California, and America votes on emotions," Marcus Evans, vice president of Yes California told the Los Angeles Times. "I think we'd have the votes today if we held it."

Oh yes yes yes! Where can I send my contribution?
I would love to tell them "Bye Felicia!"

A grade school teacher in a small Vermont town asks her class how many of them are Barack Obama fans.
Not really knowing what a Barack Obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raise their hands except little Johnny.
The teacher asks Johnny why he has decided to be different.
Johnny says, “I’m not a Barack Obama fan.”
The teacher asks, “Why not?”
Johnny says, “I’m a Donald Trump fan.”
The teacher asks why he’s a Donald Trump fan.
The boy says, “Well, my mom’s a Donald Trump fan and my dad’s a Donald Trump fan, so I’m a Donald Trump fan!”
The teacher is a bit angry, because this IS Vermont, so she asks, “What if your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?”
Johnny says, “That would make me a Barack Obama fan.”

Gun News & Laws / Gun-shaped cell phone case prompts police standoff

Panic in CA as a sleeping man in a car who happens to have an iPhone case that looks like a gun leads to a SWAT standoff:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/01/01/gun-shaped-cell-phone-case-prompts-police-standoff.html

Quote
The Alhambra Fire Department responded to a possible medical emergency in an Albertson’s parking lot. After seeing someone unconscious or possibly sleeping in the seat, they noticed a device next to the driver, which looked like a gun next to the driver’s hand. Once officers arrived, they called in a special forces team, and shortly after a standoff, the person surrendered (he was sleeping), and they checked the device which ended up being a cell phone case.

Surprising that they didn't just drone strike him.

From http://blog.uslawshield.com/twas-the-night-before-christmas/

Quote

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
The alarms were all set with the click of a mouse.
The cameras all aimed to the darkness outside
“I’m guarding my family,” my Glock at my side.

The children all snuggled, safe in their beds
With visions of X-Box, and games in their heads.
Momma in her nightgown, me in my ball cap,
Hot chocolate beside me, my Glock in my lap.

When outside my window I heard such commotion,
The cameras all humming, recording all motion.
I quietly crept to the window with care,
Hoping to find that no-one was there.

And much to my fear, twas not the case
Cause staring back at me was a hideous face.
All covered in dirt with a nefarious grin,
The burglar was searching for ways to get in.

“Call the police!”, I screamed to my wife,
I could see by his actions that he’d take a life.
The moonlight reflected the gun in his hand,
But I was prepared, I had a plan.

I had practiced and practiced and trained at the range
So that something like this would not feel too strange.
The front door was bowing from heave after heave,
I ducked behind cover and shouted, “Just leave!”

The pushing, the banging, the door he did kick,
I knew in an instant, I had to be quick.
I must shout a warning and try not to lose it,
“I’ve got a gun and I’m ready to use it!”

And to my surprise the banging just quit,
I peered out the window and saw the man split.
He dashed across lawns and leapt over a fence,
The police in pursuit, a K9 on his scent.

My family and I, we’re all safe and sound,
The burglar was caught and now was jail bound.
The lesson my friends is to always be ready,
Practice and practice, your aim must be steady.

I lay down on my bed, my head pillow bound,
Twas the night before Christmas and we’re all safe and sound.

President Hillary
Doesn't live here

On a cold but sunny day the last week of January 2017, an old man approaches the White House from Across Pennsylvania Avenue where he’d been sitting on a park bench.

The Marine, agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mrs. Clinton. I’ve told you already several times that Mrs. Clinton is not the president and doesn’t reside here. Donald Trump is the president of the United States. What don’t you understand about that?”
The old man answered, “Oh, I understand you fine, young man. I just love hearing you tell me over and over again that Hillary’s not the president!”
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, “See you tomorrow, Sir.”

Quote
House Republicans are re-launching a caucus with the goal of advancing pro-gun rights legislation on Capitol Hill.
According to a statement from the office of Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., the congressman will be chairing the third iteration of the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus. Earlier versions were active from 2004-08 and 2009-13.
“The recent election results present us with a new opportunity to advance pro-gun legislation and reverse the erosion of the Second Amendment that's occurred over the last few decades. I look forward to working with the new President and this determined group of conservatives to promote a pro-gun agenda,” Massie said in the statement.
The caucus will include: Reps. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C.; Ted Yoho, R-Fla.; Brian Babin, R-Texas; Paul Gosar, R-Ariz.; Mark Meadows, R-N.C.; Ken Buck, R-Colo.; Alex Mooney R-W.Va.; Justin Amash, R-Mich; Jody Hice, R-Ga.; Dave Brat, R-Va.; Warren Davidson, R-Ohio; Scott Perry, R-Pa.; and James Comer, R-Ky.
The group intends to lead efforts in the House to “pass meaningful firearms legislation” and protect against any infringement on the Second Amendment.
"Preserving the right to keep and bear arms is essential to maintaining freedom and liberty in our country,” said former Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., who chaired the caucus during its second run from 2009 through 2013.
The caucus also intends to invite firearm experts, constitutional scholars, and pro-gun groups to speak and testify before the group.
