No and yes. I was going to scoop a Rock Island which was also a two toned version. It was still there when I arrived, but ...  I couldn't do it without walking the show again to consider options. When I returned to the table, it was busy. I wasn't in a hurry, so ...  Father walks up with his son to buy him an 18th b'day present. Guess which pistol the young man chose?  They closed the deal and I moved on. Had a laugh with the sales guy after 'cause he asked if I was ready as soon as the father son team moved on to paperwork. I told him yes, but he'd just sold the pistol I was waiting to buy.

I'd spotted the Sig at a C&R table and I think Sig has the best night sights in the market. I overpaid IMO, but as long as she shoots straight I'll be happy. I did get it for less than any NIB Sig at the show, but not by much.

The last gun I bought was also the first gun I bought as soon as I got my New Jersey Firearm Purchase ID card. I took me about 5 months to actually get the permit and then another 4 weeks to get approved for the handgun after I just got approved to be able to purchase a handgun. Yea, Jersey sucks. Glad to be in Texas now.

Anyway, it was a Glock 21c. Pretty nice gun. That makes 7. Don't ask......

Yesterday I put a Bersa Thunder 9 Ultra Compact Pro Duo-Tone (Nickel/Matte) Finish in lay-a-way at Tomball Pawn. I've been wanting to grab one of these up since I shot Dom's Bersa .380 two years ago at one of our meet and shoots. I just wanted it in 9mm.

I just brought home a Ruger P95DC that was made sometime in 1996; it looks brand new. In fact, the pistol was still wrapped in the original plastic and the envelope that contains the owner's manual also has a clipping from a mag or newspaper that is introducing the new "P95 from Ruger."  I like it; now, I just need to learn how to shoot it; my first trip to the range was less than impressive. :2guns:

PSA AR kit and a Mossberg 500 cruiser.

Ah yes, the trigger is a smidgen bit different from my other handguns.  I'm consistently shooting about 3 to 4 inches under my point of aim.  Although I don't have this problem with my other handheld lead-slingers, I'm pretty sure this issue is with me and not the pistol because I had the range's gunsmith check it out, and the pistol hit where it was pointed. :bangheadonwall:

Opps, I copied the wrong quotation.  I'll try this again.

My last gun actually was not bought but was a gift from my mother during last Christmas. She told me to go to Gander Mountain and pick up a Henry 22 Rifle. I thought that was odd and I kind of felt like I was in the minor leagues. She told me that she felt guilty all these years of never buying me a gun during my life and always left it to my dad in that department. So she decided to change that last Christmas and I am still baffled why she chose the Henry 22 rifle. On another note I am waiting for my SIG 556 Classic rifle and will not get it until January 2014.

AR stripped lower, stripped upper, barrel, free float quad rail, grips, stock, all kinds of goodies to go with it, and for the cherry on top? TA31H-G. Trijicon ACOG, 4x with green horseshoe reticle.

So I've got some assembling to do, but my "last gun bought" is my second AR15. Dropped some serious coin between this and my SBR/Suppressor project. Think I'm done gun buying for this year. Unless, of course, I come across another 92FS for a steal.........

Nice looking gun.  How did you come to be aware of it?  How does it compare to your other 9mms?

It was in a email (sales) ad from J&G sales and sense I missed a chance for the Arcus 94 I jumped at the chance for the 98 DA

It's fairly light for a all steel gun and from the research I did the gun will shoot any type of 9mm without any problems....now if I can only find someone nearby that sales steel  case ammo

I'm going to try shooting it this weekend

I hear ya on that. But I have no room in my heart for the Sig anymore after the Beretta and PPQ. What I didn't have was a full size wheelie. I've been lookin at the GP100 for a while. That and a 7 round S&W. Don't know the model. Its was used and more costly for the Smith. I really like the GP100 just a little better tho. Very happy with the trade. Can't WAIT TO SHOOT IT!!

I put steel from Tula & Monarch, factory reloads, 115; 124 & 147 gr HP rounds and brass target ammo....only had one miss-feed (steel case)

Noticed the recoil with the 147 gr HP rounds was strong for a 9mm

I would recommend the Acrus 98 DA for someone who wants a 9mm handgun

HK P-30.  Haven't shot it yet.  Really want to see how it compares to my USP's.  The decocker is a thumb button right next to the hammer which is a feature I really like.

I prefer the decocker on a Sig much better. Not to mention the mag release button opposes to a paddle release on the trigger guard.  Still a very nice piece.

Yes, I had a P2000 for a while, set up that way. I liked that gun.

I did buy a P30L once, but the gun wouldn't function right for me. I traded it back in.

Title: Re: What was your last gun you bought?

I wouldn't mind a P2000 with night sights again. But, I got that Walther P99 A/S. I only need 1 fullsize polymer gun. That's good enough.

Honestly - there really isn't a handgun I would move heaven and earth to try to obtain anymore. I did that for so many years that I've owned almost everything :p

The little Mini Cougar that Stoeger is remaking is the only tempting one - and, I have no idea why I want it (had the fullsize model in 9mm and the 45 version in the past).

IF I just loved the Beretta ARX (whenever they actually sell it), I could see myself selling the PS90. Wouldn't mind a Daniel Defense AR either. BUt, not sure if I will begin a new quest for another gun :p

So..... I had not planned on buying ANY guns in April.

But I happened to swing by the local Academy one day just killing time. Dammit.

Came home with this.

SIG P227.

So I go out to the range that afternoon to try it out. Afterwards I am in the office BSing with the owner.

We start talking about Glocks, and I mention I don't have any but kind of want to get one, carry and abuse it and see if it still works.

One thing leads to another and he offers up a new Gen4 G23 for $550.

Dammit.

New G23.

Later that night I found out that I won an auction on Gunbroker for a Beretta CX-4 in 9mm.

Picked it up the next week.

Most. Expensive. Gun. Day. Ever.

Thanks guys.

The 227 runs great. I thought the DA pull on the trigger was a little stiff the first few magazines. After about 50 rounds she smoothed out and feels just right.

The G23 is my first Glock. Light, accurate and reliable. Been carrying it since I got it and have nothing but good things to say about it.

The CX-4 is a hoot at the range. You can burn through a 50-round box of 9mm in nothing flat!

Yes I am, just deciding what to get.

Everyone I ask tells me to get an Aimpoint, which makes sense, but.....sheesh. That is damn near as much as the gun itself.

Of course I say this as a guy with the full EOTech bling strapped onto my AR. Holographic sight and 3x magnifier....more than the weapon itself.

So I will eventually end up with the Aimpoint - I just need to talk myself into it.

I hear ya. My Mepro 21 on my CX4 is worth almost as much as I paid for the gun.

Mepros can be found for around 400 if you're patient and look around. Which makes them a pretty decent value in my opinion. They are heavy, but they are tough and they never require batteries unlike an EOTech.

That being said, I'm probably gonna grab an EOTech for my M4 wannabe rifle, mainly because you can find those for *300* if you look around and are patient!

I have seen them $425-$435 in the past - however, when I was looking for one a couple of months ago, there were none to be found at that price range. They seem to be sorta cyclic. I didn't want to wait forever.

It sucks that Midway USA emailed a coupon for Mepro items in the past week or so. $100 off for Mepro items $500 or more. (they charge closer to MSRP on the Mepro 21s). However - they were all already out of stock when I immediately looked them up online. And, they had been outta stock on their website for a while. Coupon is kinda crappy if they don't even have the product....

The  bullseye version of the Mepro is the easiest to find at a cheaper price - some places ONLY carry that model. I spent a lot of time trying to find a good deal. Cheapest I found online was at a Texas place, and then ya gotta pay salestax... Putting it back up to the price of most other places.

Some sites claim they are discontinued - not sure what that means....

All the used ones I saw online were sold. I found a used one at a decent price eventually, but itw as AFTER I had already given up and gotten a new one thru Ryan.

Depends entirely on the springs used. Mine is at 4.6 lbs but feels extremely crisp.
You can get it down to 2.5 lbs with the right spring combination though.

Does dumping more than the cost of the base gun into it in custom work count as buying a gun?  If so mine was accurizing, rebarreling, timed muzzle brake installation, bolt fluting, cerakoting, restocking, adding DBM, and bedding a Remington 700 in .260REM.

If it has to be an actual purchase it was my M&P Pro 5" 9mm I bought roughly a year ago.  Or maybe it was a Glenfield Model 10 bolt action .22 rifle.  There was a time when I bought quite a few guns in a short time period I cant hardly remember the order I acquired them.

RIA 1911 A2 - the doublestack - complete frame only. Some of y'all might remember that I have a 460 Rowland Mechtech 1911 Carbine upper. Well, I used to run it with my doublestack TCM frame. The new frame is now dedicated to the carbine with 3 14 round magazines, lucid red dot and 2-5x magnifier on flip to side mount.

JohnnyDollar,

Perhaps those who demand pictures should simply accept that many of us OFs don't know how to post photos & some of us don't even own a camera.
(Personally, I'd rather spend my pension on more ammo.)

Further, I don't even know of a simple/easy to learn method for those of us who are "electronically challenged" to learn how to do things like that.
(I had to have my 9YO niece to program my DVR player.- She "rolled her eyes" but still did it quite competently = SMART girl..)

JohnnyDollar,

Frankly, I didn't take your post as targeting me but rather that most everyone under about 40YO just don't "get" that most of us "seniors" don't know how to do much more than send/receive emails, if that.
(I have several friends over 70YO who are utterly "flummoxed by" cell phones.)

Otoh, I also know some of my niece's generation, who cannot operate a Wurlitzer jukebox nor have a clue about how to use a record player. = I taught my niece to use my McIntosh stereo with Garrard turntable & many old 78 & 33 1/3  records, W/O destroying any of the 3.
("The Princess" likes my "antique" 1920s jazz, early rock & roll, Texas Swing & Patsy Cline records, too.)
I still have 3 speakers by Paul Klipsch & that will likely outlast me.
(YEP, I knew Paul & counted him as a friend in the mid-1960s, when I was an undergrad in AR. - I drove to Hope & loaded my Klipschhorns on my PU.)

you should not make assumptions, I am 57.

My speakers are Bose 301's (inherited from my dad) and Pioneer HPM100's,
Turntable is a Technics SL1600MK2, my Pioneer 8-Track player still gets use,
however my Akai Reel-2-Reel is my primary music source.

I can give you a story...
when my dad was a kid, he remembers his father getting their first radio in the house.

His dad was pretty proud of it and looked at my dad and told him...
"Son, someday this will be yours...."

I remember my dad remarking that his father could not even conceive that technology would progress further.
He never made any promise like that to me. :)

To All,

Speaking of "technology", my 99YO mother was born on 20JAN17 & lived from a time in TX when horses & teams were commonplace on the roads in Franklyn County to live through The Depression, WWII, Korea, RVN, the "space race", the Moon landings & even to see several the 9 planets being explored by a spacecraft.

No doubt, now it's more likely that kids hand their technology off to their parents once it is outdated (enough for them to handle).

$375-399 seems to be the normal good price level at gun shops, though plenty are only offering that price for the standard barrel instead of threaded.
Gander Mountain and Academy are both selling the standard barrel for $399 currently, and didn't have any threaded models when I looked Sunday.

Picked it up Wednesday evening. I put my Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12X 40mm DOA 600 scope on it. Haven't had it at the range yet but but trying to squeeze in a range trip this weekend.

Upgrading this status this weekend.  New status is "paid for."  Should see it at my FFL before the end of next week.  Then I get to wait while the Feds complete the 4th NICS check of the summer.  I can already tell you they will spend 10 days and ultimately determine I'm good to go.  I miss the days when I could just hand over my TX CHL.  My AZ CHL will never be as handy.

Well, I was alliwed to spend time with my New Silverback today. Tried witholding my ssocial on the 4473 - delayed anyway. I really need to get after this UPIN since my social is evidently not unique enough.

Anyway she's gorgeous.

I just traded for an ancient Hi Point 995. Have always heard these guns were fun. It was missing its sights and some other odds and ends. Called HP and they sent all the parts under their lifetime warranty. I didn't even know they had a warranty. Took it apart. Went to the Inter web to find pictures to put it back together. and went shooting. Functioned like a new gun. Had the punny proverbial blast. This little carbine is way underrated in my book. I plan to keep this one around for a bit just to enjoy its plinkability.

Bought a 22TCM Doublestack yesterday.  I'll ride up to Austin and pick it up this weekend.  This one will get disassembled to serve my needs.  The slide will be mated to the 9mm barrel on my 22 TCM single stack, and the frame will go into dedicated Mechtech service so I will not need to swap the frame back and forth between carbines.

And ...

This morning, I pulled the trigger on a STI Duty One 5" in 45ACP.  I had one in 40 short and weak before I failed at motorcycle collision avoidance - it was the most accurate pistol I had at that moment.  Well it was discontinued and I may be the only person on the planet that thinks it's sexy.  But, I figure if a builder is gonna take license to put a rail on a classic design ... why stop there?  This one will likely have a 460 Rowland kit before the end of the year.

My 40 was a tack driver.  The sight wasn't easy to find (basic black), but once I found it - it placed holes exactly where I intended.  Mine is now owned by a machinist friend.  He is NOT letting it go - talks about it every time I see him.  Good luck finding one - it's worth the effort.  In my brief search, I only found it in 9 and 45.  That said, I'm sure the still have the programming to cut you an example - there are supposed to rep the higher end; maybe they will make you one.  One last tidbit about the long lost 40 ... strangely, mine did NOT use their recoilmaster system - it was a simple FLGR.

You can call STI and order what you want from them, if I remember right. Or, get an STI dealer to do it for you. I almost bought a STI Sentinel years ago. I called STI directly and priced one with a change or two from the base model. It's kinda like ordering direct from Ed Brown or even Dan Wesson (DW will do custom orders). I assume STI will still do that. Try giving them a call.

we have 3 STIs (9mm Elektra, 45cal Elektra & 40cal Tactical SS) - when looking for our Elektras the Wife and I were invited by STI CS to visit Georgetown and view the contents of STI's "big safe" - all their present models at the time plus a few that hadn't reached the market

at that time STI did not build nor sell to individuals - only for their distributors

they've gone thru management changes subsequent to that time but I'm guessing that policy hasn't changed - could be wrong

this was on their facebook (?) page, a while back :

Tarosean,  strangely, the current owner of my 40sw Duty One was at meeting.  I mentioned that I know someone that might be willing to buy it.  In the end, he was steadily trying to buy the 45 from me before I even got the cosmoline removed.

Remington R1 Carry Commander.....that ejects brass into my face....even after a new ejector.  Guess next is the extractor.
Back when I got el' cheapo 1911s they shot great.  Seems like the more I spend on a gun the more issues I have.

Countryside,

Perhaps you should consider one of the newer RIA "1911A1 GM clones"??
(Every one of the RIA "clones" that I've shot in the last 2 years has worked FLAWLESSLY & they are CHEAP, too.)

My lady's 28YO younger son recently bought a 2015 RIA for 260.oo OTD at an Austin Pawn Shop & it even "digested" about 100 pieces of "rather questionable" CB/SWC reloads,  that a fellow here in SA gave me to reuse  for the brass.
(Those reloads "hit all over the target" BUT the RIA "clone" functioned just fine, thanks.)

I can't comment on the Remington, but ... I'm curious.  Next time you're firing the Remington - 1) load a round into the chamber, 2) drop the mag, 3) fire and take note of the ejection pattern.  Ejection in 1911 is a fairly simple, but busy process.  You've got the extractor holding the casing against the breechface until the rearward motion of the breechface (part of the slide) brings the casing into contact with the ejector which rolls the casing out of the extractors grasp and knocks it out of the ejection port.  While the extractor and ejector are functioning, you are also starting the process of feeding the next round just millimeters away.  You removed the magazine before firing to investigate the possibility that the next round is interfering with the spent casing.  Unfortunately, this is very common as extractors do not get enough attention from production builders.  If the extractor is not providing enough tension, don't be surprised if you eject down the magazine tube or mangle the casing with a failure to eject because you weren't getting assistance interference from the next round in the que.

You dont even have to fire it to check extractor tension.  If the extractor doesnt hold a empty case in place or drops it down the magwell it needs to be tuned. cycling by hand will give the same results.

Kudos for the detailed focus.  My Glock 26 has taken to ejecting spent brass directly to a point right between my eyes.  I'll have to give that a try this weekend.

Yes, I have had issues with Glocks shooting me in the head with ejected cases. What is strange is that if I shoot in an isosceles stance, a glock will eject perfectly fine. But when I shoot in a weaver stance, I get hit in the head. I hold the gun a bit differently in those 2 stances, and that has something to do with it. But, I shoot weaver - so, it is annoying

Correct.  With the ejector in place I favor firing 'cause I lack confidence in my ability to accelerate the slide as quickly as a powder charge.  I thought I had also provided a link about ejector tuning as well - doh.

The short version says get the extractor correct first.  Field strip the pistol and slip a round into place on the breechface.  The extractor tension should hold the round.  Failures to feed haven't been reported, but too tight for the round to slip into place at high speed can result in failures to feed as well as mangled brass.  If it won't hold a live round when you add a reasonable amount of movement - you need to tighten your extractor.

When viewing your ejector, visualize a pool que and a que ball.  The ejector is your que and the spent casing is your ball.  Which direction will physics carry the case when you strike the casing with the ejector.  There are at least a dozen correct ways to shape the point of contact on the ejector, and even more ways to tune the position where the strike occurs.  Once you have a properly tuned your extractor, diddling with your ejector, recoil spring and/or mainspring will alter the glide path of the spent casings.

My Glock 26 has taken to ejecting spent brass directly to a point right between my eyes.  I'll have to give that a try this weekend.

No way!  I was led to believe that Glocks are too busy basking in their ability to fire when cured in concrete to be bothered with molesting lowly trigger slappers.  Who knew?  It's probably just pissed for being born butt ugly.  (sorry, just fun to berate the plastic fantastics - even if the fantastic is earned)

Thanks, dred.  I may try that.  I'm probably going to let my gunsmith take a look.  I don't trust myself.  Interestingly enough this week I put 100 rounds through it.  It didn't eject into my face this time, but it did vary from ejecting to about 5 o'clock at times...then 3 o'clock at times...sometimes ejecting the cases 4-5 feet...sometimes maybe 2 feet.  Other than the erratic ejection I really like the gun.

Well, went to Abilene today with the lady.  Dropped her at her shopping spot then I went looking. No one had a Ruger SR45.  Did find a Ruger American pistol in 45ACP, but it struck me as kinda blocky and bulky.  Academy had an SR9e.  Others had it but at a higher price.  After long thought I went back to Academy and got it...the $329 price tag didn't hurt anything either.  This'll be my first 9mm in many years.  Got out of the store with the gun and a box of ammo for under $375.  I'll post pics when I can.  I still love 1911s but just wanted something different.

Last one I bought ,  CZ  p-01.  I seen the grip sticking out from under some papers in the uses gun case. The thing looked brand new. The LGS guy said some older fella bought it new, couldnt rack the slide, so trade it in on a revolver. I tore it down right there. It looked spotless, no dings or wear marks at all.

I got ALL the factory stuff you get with a new one. Box, case, paperwork, booklets, etc, 2 mags, cleaning brush and rod,,

And I REALLY dont think it was ever fired.  All the blueing was on the mags and rails.  Feed ramp was also spotless. So I was a happy camper, as the P01's  are hard to find here.

$469 out the door.  :rocknroll2:

I picked up a Taurus 85UL at the Woodlands gun show a couple weeks ago.  I was surprised at the accuracy for a 2" revolver.

The wife & I stopped in on the way to Kroger and shopped around for a bit.  She picked up a new pepper spray and purse knife.  As we were walking back to the truck, I said "I almost went back to that first table and bought that little revolver."  Her reply was "Why didn't you?"   I headed back in before she could change her mind.

The last couple of gun shows I've been too I looked at three or four WWI era Spanish and Argentine Mauser's. Either the barrels were pitted or the stock were cracked. I'm going to keep looking and I'm pretty confident I'll find one soon enough. I see you ordered yours. Looks like you did well.

There was some pitting but under the stock, no rust. I bought mine from J&G sales for under $200

Have bought plenty of ammo and accessories on line but never a firearm. I enjoy the hunt for the firearms I want and am always on the prowl at pawn shops and gun shows. If I can't find a decent Tokarev w/o aftermarket safety in 7.62 x 25 within the next six months or so I'll probably order one on line.

To All,

I presume that everyone has heard the saying, "When it rains, it pours" & that is perfectly appropriate in this case.

As some here know, I had planned to have my latest Model 760 in .30-06 rebored/rechambered in 9.3x62mm BUT then another "Internet friend" emailed me that he had seen another Model 760 that was already converted by JES to 9.3x62mm & for 50 bucks more than the reboring by JES, so I bought it too.
(I told my "little brother" about this situation & he suggested that I keep the .30-06 rifle for a "loaner".)

7 out of 10 of my guns are online purchases. Online hunting is like a free gun show hunt. I search online daily. I have a Tokarev (bought online btw) with the added safety, the safety isn't an issue, the real issue is the 7.62x25 Ammo, not a easy find. I love older guns, I have modern rifles and handguns but C&R and antique firearms are my favorite. I like the history behind them and knowing that your firearm went to war, proves to me that it can handle anything that I might throw through it!

I have a couple of WW II era rifles a Yugo 8MM Mauser and a Enfield .303. Now looking for WW I era but would gladly buy any older Mauser if I should come across a decent one and the price was right. Always on the hunt for older S&W revolvers.  Mistakenly sold my Tokarev a few years ago to a deputy here at the sheriffs office with the mistaken belief that I wouldn't have a problem replacing it. Man was I wrong. Been trying for the last year to talk him in to selling it to me. I'll either get that one back or find another. I'm patient.

Christmas presents for my son and grandson. I gave my son his first S/A last year, a Uberti birdshead in .357, which he really liked, so I stepped it up a notch or two with the Super Blackhawk in .454 Casull. Grandson gets the Model 43 Glock. He dropped a hint for something else but papa got the 60$ Homeland Security discount. $390 out the door. I'm pretty sure he won't complain. Don't know what it is with my new laptop and the sideways pic's.

Classicfirearms.com has Yugo Tokarev's for sale for only $260. My Tokarev is a Yugo model (M57), I like it, it holds one extra round in the magazine over the original TT33. I would highly recommend classicfirearms.com! I have bought from them dozen or more times.

I acquired the Tokarev I sold, a Russian TT, through a private seller years ago. I am pretty sure that it was some soldiers war trophy from WW II or one of the other soviet backed conflicts the U.S. was involved in during the last 70 years. At the time I sold it I mistakenly thought that Tokarev's were all the same just manufactured by different soviet block countries and would be easily replaced. Learned a lesson a couple of years ago when I started looking for another one.  :bangheadonwall:
I'm going to check out a couple of big gun shows in he next few months to see what turns up but not really optimistic. In any advent my firearm fund has been depleted for the remainder of the year, see my post above, so i gotta wait till until after the first of the year. Thanks for the heads up on Classic Firearms. Yours was in decent condition when you received it?

Alte Schuloe,

WELL SAID. = There is a great deal of difference in the firearms made by the old USSR & the numerous "satellite nations".

I still feel ILL every time that I think of the East German Makarov with VOPO holster & belt that I finally allowed an old boarding school chum to buy (He had asked at least 100X to buy or trade for it.) , thinking that "It won't be hard" to buy another one.
I've never found another MAK that was nearly as nice.

I had the holster with built in magazine carrier and military web belt (no buckle) with mine. Had some Cyrillic writing on the inside of the flap. As I usually do I sold it to finance something else I wanted and now I can't remember what that something else was. I see the deputy I sold it to every working day. I think I'm going to really start dogging his ax to sell it back to me.

ya mean an East German Mak, like this ?  My (now deceased) FIL owned a gun shop - he refinished this EG Mak in what I call a Diamond Black and gave it to me as a gift - it's a 1963 model (BPxxxx-63) - a great little point and shoot pistol (I then acquired a Bulgarian, had it Hard Chromed and gave it to my Wife - a nice pistol too..)

Tango,

Understood.

When I was living at "the mountain lair" in WV some years ago I fired many a round of 9x18mm, ,38SPL (mostly WC), .380ACP & .32ACP in the basement of our house there. = we had a 20M range & that makes it  really convenient to go shoot a few rounds often.

These days it's a > 45 minute one-way drive to the nearest range & I don't have time to make that trip often.

Sounds like a deal, especially if the one you receive is as nice as the one in their photos.

My LEO turn in Glock 21 doesn't even show holster wear.  :P

The only thing wrong with it was the tritium night sights were dim. Easy replacement.

Well, as it turns out, I'm a liar.  I'm actually just fooling myself, but a lie is a lie.  Truth:  I never intended to buy another Sig 938.  I've twice tried to give away the Garret holster that tucks it away in perfect comfort.

Well, Friday before last I was flipping through a box of rarely used gun bits.  I found myself holding said holster and a 6 round factory magazine.  I felt a pang of loss and decided to flip through gunbroker.  Before entering my search, I committed to the same $500 trigger I do every time I look at 938s - I think it is an outstanding $500 pistol.  Course, my search auto populates 'cause I've executed it before.

I found a Hogue Black Rubber Grip, 2 tone 938 new in box with no reserve.  On principle, I bid the $499 it was gonna take to lose another auction.  Imagine my surprise when 25 minutes later I was planning to deliver $490 to the seller.

Well, I just tracked it to Houston so it'll be here today.  And, last night, I accidentally ordered a pair of half checkered/half stipled cocobolo grips for my 938.

me - I never did say "never" so I guess it's "ok"  :icon_redface: - bought an AR, after saying I had no use/no desire for one (Colt M4 Carbine)

but.....I got it because the binary triggers fit into an AR platform - only !  and it's the trigger I'm after, not the AR

so now I'm sitting, waiting for my damned usps guy to drop it off in my mailbox (the thing got into the usps north houston facility (about 30 miles from here) yesterday morning and didn't get to Conroe PO until last evening (was 'sposed to be delivered yesterday  :bangheadonwall:

usps changed the delivery date to today (from yesterday) and I'm going to be highly irritated if it isn't - like I've suggested before, I'm one impatient sonnyguy

Waiting on anything is also not one of my finer behavior traits. Waiting in line for 10 -15 minutes not to bad now as I can get busy on my phone for a few minutes. More than that I'm seriously in need of liquid or pharmaceutical sedation. Don't mind waiting for a table at a restaurant as I'll wait in the bar. If I'm at an airport, tax office or renewing my drivers license I'll hit my wife up for a low dose Valium. :icon_wink:
Just to stay on topic. Bought this NIB Model 637 for my wife as she didn't care for my D/A only .38 Sp. snubs. She didn't care for this one either so now I have added it to my EDC rotation. :th_thicon_idea:

A sample of the jewels are a pair of 1903A3's, some M1917's, no4mk1 enfields, M1 carbines, and the crown jewel a German G-43! The 1903's are in poor/fair condition but I will be working on removing paint, rust, and replacing stocks; they have potential. Need to buy some 30'06 and .30 carbine soon, not cheap ammo. I would love to hear about if anyone of y'all have a M1917 or M1 carbine, would like to know what you think about them and maybe meet up and shoot and compare.

NOPE. None of them.

But I have a nice collection of 1903's.

600 miles and several gallons of fluids later ... my 1970 vintage Browning BLR in .308W is home.  I saddled up with an empty hard case strapped to the bike on Friday, picked up the rifle in Dallas and pointed to Shootout hosted by the Nacadoches chapter of my club.

I am a happy camper.  She runs like she was built by conscientious Belgians. The action is absolutely fascinating and she may be my ticket to qualify and explore the longer half of my range.

I did carry the labradar and I learned that the 16" barrel launched the 180g pills from the muzzle at ~2500 FPS.  I look forward to a little bench rest time which will hopefully be followed by qualification to enjoy the back 40 at Bayou.

rowill8,

LUCKY DOG, LUCKY DOG!!!

At the last BIG show at The Freeman there was a European vendor who had about 3 dozen HUSKY rifles in various calibers. - Had I not already bought 2 rifles that morning, a circa 1910 rifle in 9.3x57mm with 2X German scope would have had a new home.
(It was on a 95 Mauser receiver & had a ribbed barrel. = PURTY!!!)

I like the 9.3x57mm  & 9.3x62mm  calibers because both are easy to fire-form from 8x57mm Mauser & .30-06 cases, they are very CB friendly, CHEAP to reload AND both are quite suitable for small & BIG game, as well as WT/feral hogs.

yours, satx

Picked up my Shockwave yesterday. Installed the minishell adapter, rail and IProtec light on a 45 degree cant.

Found some hard to find Aguila MiniShells 1 3/4" 1 oz. buckshot on line at Target Sports a couple of weeks ago. Each minishell holds a combo of 5 #1 and 6 #4 buckshot. Next to some 2 3/4" #4 buckshot for scale. Shockwave will hold 4+1 3" shells, 5+1 2 3/4" shells and 8+1 of the minishells.

wouldn't mind seeing a paper target with the pattern those mini shells put out, at a couple of different distances - any plans on doing something like that ?

what does the "adapter" do and where is it installed ?

the "45 degree cant" on the light is for what purpose (does it cant to the left/right or up and down ?) ?

I took the light off another pump shotgun that has a red dot mounted on top. Couldn't have both the red dot and the light on top so I bought an attachment rail that was off set 45 degrees to the left for the light. It illuminates just a little off center but not enough, IMO, to really notice or matter. The adapter makes for a positive feed of the minishell. From what I understand it's easy to short stroke the shorter shell causing a jam or failure to feed. It's a $15 piece of stiff rubber that's made in Texas. Seems to work great. Have to remove it for the longer shells which takes all of ten seconds.
To tell the truth I put the light with adapter on the Shockwave because I thought it would look good but have been rethinking that since I woke up this morning. As there is no real practical reason for putting a red dot on the Shockwave I'll probably remount the light back on my other pump. I have another light in my accessory cabinet I can mount on top of the Shockwave if I decide to do that.
Need the roads to the range to dry out before I take the Shockwave and a couple other things out. Hopefully in two or three weeks. The American Rifleman has a good article on the Shockwave and the different Minishells. It has test pictures at the bottom. https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2017/3/31/tested-mossberg-590-shockwave/

seriously let us know how effective those mini shells are.  I understand they don't work in an auto, but are supposed to be ok in a pump.

..I understand they don't work in an auto, but are supposed to be ok in a pump.

if I've read the article correctly the "adapter" is made only for the pumps, not the auto - so guessing the feeding would be an issue on an auto.....

After a lot of research I bought a Tri-Star O/U in a 20 GA.  There's a lot of gripes out there about Turkish shotguns, but the TriStar got pretty good revues.  I shot doves with it Saturday and it did a fine job.  It doesn't fit me well, but few market shotguns do and that can/will be corrected.  I was impressed enough to consider buying the trap version in the near future - but I've got to sell a couple of guns to make room in the safe and that's a problem these days.  I'll list them on here when I get my 25 item quota taken care of.  I'd definitely consider this as an endorsement for the brand though.

My Wife bought, for herself, a TriStar A-TAC Raptor, 12ga - we haven't shot it a lot but it seems to be a good gun and I like the fact that it's a semi-auto

no problems and it cycles every time

Well I walked into my local gun pusher's place and spied a nice Argentine Sistema Colt and a very clean Star Model D.

For some strange reason, they came home with me.  The Star is .380 and is what the Colt .380s from the 70's 80s and even now are based on.  The Sig 238 too.  So I took that mini 911ish to the range, and realized it gives me hammer bite.  A little time with a file will fix that.  Rear sight is adjustable for windage and the front is all but invisible.  If I keep it, I will send the slide to Novak for a set of sights.

The Sistema is all matching numbers except for the mag.  Trigger and grip safety have been changed but the originals came with it.  I will shoot it at the end of the month.  Nice thing is it has no importer's stamp.

Can't take pics right now, sorry bout that.

I had taken a Colt 1911 to get serviced it was having issues and was a safe gun. The 4516 was sitting there I asked about trade and at 450 for the colt and 475 for the smith the colt stayed behind.

As you know, gun makers make guns to fit John Smith.  John is 5'9.5" tall, weighs 165 lbs., has 32" arms and a medium neck.  Well, I'm not John Smith and never have been and you probably aren't either.  I'm 6'2", weigh 175, have 35" arms and a long neck.  An off the rack shotgun just doesn't fit me.  Well today I picked up my new TriStar TT-15 double trap gun with adjustable everything.  The length of pull, comb rise, cast on/off, rib and attitude are all movable and it come with two allen wrenches and a bag full of shims and spaces to get you a gun that comes up to your shoulder right every time.  The amazing thing is that this gun sells for roughly $1,100.  Comparable models with similar features go for a lot more bucks than that.  So I'm still reading through the brochure on how, and it what order, to make these fittings.  I already own one TriStar o/u (see posting above) and I've been thoroughly impressed with the bang to buck ration of these guns.  I'll let you know how this experiment works out.  Realize it is a pig in the poke, shot in the dark (pun intended) sort of deal, but at that price I had to try it.

Last month I was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease. Three months from retirement and I get dealt this crappy hand. My MD thinks they found it in time and that although my kidney function will be around 35% he's pretty sure he can keep me off dialysis if I respond to treatment and I do as he says. Told him I've got too much living to do and that I would grovel in the front yard and eat dog crap if he could get it me in remission. He said he didn't think that would be necessary.
I was really pissed for awhile and couldn't shake it. To get me in better spirits I decided to buy a pistol I had been eyeing for some time. And in this case a nice expensive firearm. So I sold a couple of things I thought I could do without and yesterday I picked up a Springfield Enhanced Micro Pistol (EMP) in 9 mm. I had shot one last year and really liked it but the 1k price tag threw me off. Well I have one now and I'm going to shoot the hell out of it and have big smile on my face when I do. It came with an on line swag "rebate" for four magazines (it comes with three) a paddle holster and a dual magazine belt holder. Ordered mine last night.
Aluminum frame, forged steel slide, 3" stainless steel match grade barrel, low profile combat 3-Dot tritium sights, Cocobolo wood grips and a host of other things. I also think it's a real nice looking pistol and will pair well with my CZ 9mm EVO Scorpion carbine. Hopefully will be going to the range with it and my Shockwave next week.

Thanks! I'm well read on the subject now. I did this to myself by not taking my blood pressure meds as prescribed. I'd forget and skip a day or two and not think anything about it. Was felling kind of lethargic one day and took my BP at home. 220/160. That's right 220/160. Went to the ER, admitted to ICU, and ya'll know the rest of the story.  PSA take your meds.

Well, well ...

Marlin 22lr rifle #4 is now incoming - too many?  Been watching for one of these for almost 2 years.  I found it Sunday and I'm not missing football.  So ... scored a Papoose on Saturday and followed it up with a Marlin 7000T on Sunday.  I've been walking up my bid for two days and had not located the reserve - I could no longer stand the idea of someone swooping in b4 me so I smashed Buy it Now.  Funny to me that I will have more into the old beat up Papoose than this Unicorn rifle - and yes, buy it now was smashed immediately after I did the math.

Y'all prolly won't mind see'n a pic:

That stock is laminate - colored to complement Old Glory = and length of pull is adjustable.  I does not come with irons.  I pulled the trigger on a Leupold for the Papoose on Monday - so, for now, I plan on running the Leupi and/or my cheapo digi night scope.

The last one I bought was actually a 2 guns in the same day deal. Different sellers. I'm not sure the 5.7 qualifies as a buy since I traded for a cz scorpion pistol, but the VEPR-12 I bought. Its funny because I was trying to help the original owner sell it. I posted on a few web pages for him as well as forums and I tried posting on here but it was taken down due to too few posts. No biggie I'm a firm believer in rules. The guy needed to sell though by the end of the week he just got laid off and had bills. Well no was interested so he was going to sell to a pawn shop. They offered him $300 and I had $450 so I told him I could do the $450 instead. I got the VEPR, 3x 12 round magazines, 1x 5 round magazine, and that "Raptor Claw" barrel shroud. One of my better buys.

Since the last update:  2 more heavy barrel 22lr Marlins - another 7000 (poly stock not a Target), an 880 Sq bolt, a 22lr Heritage Rough Rider (fake ivory version), and a 5 shot NAA 22lr and Magnum 1 5/8" folding grip revolver.

USPS is holding the 880 Sq hostage - it's been on a 10 day adventure since it left PA with a projected delivery day of 1/19.  It finally got scanned in Houston this morning so I hope to pick it up tomorrow - then I can get the 22lrs together for a photo shoot.

I got a SIG P290RS 9mm last month. Always liked what I read about them but never shot one. Found they were discontinued in December so I quickly searched & got one. I've been carrying a Ruger LCR 38 for a few years but this will probably be my new carry once winter's over. I've put about 250 rounds of various types of ammo through it. No fails & the DAO trigger has smoothed out a bit. Put a stronger (22lb) recoil spring in with a steel guide rod & it's a little less snappy. Fun to shoot.

Kel-Tec Sub 2000 Gen2 9mm for M&P Mags.  This thing is FUN.  My mags and early upgrades are here too.  Good news for me came when I saw the rifle was delivered with a 17rd Promag.  So the 32rd happy stick by Promag may prove reliable - I'm thinking Kel-Tec probably wouldn't supply a junk mag.

My FFL did a buy back so I got her for $315 plus $35 shipping.  I'll be swapping out the trigger but she's so much fun I ain't crying.  Runnin Irons, I was able to hit an 8" round target consistently shooting off hand.

I'm 200 steel case rounds in and she's 100%.  I've got no regrets choosing this over the Ruger PCC.  And, I'll be shopping for a M&P as soon as I pay last years taxes.

I've got a Kel TEC Sub 2000 in 9mm that takes the Glock magazines. Bought it NIB about six months ago and planned on giving it to my grandson as a Christmas present but gave him the Ruger 1911 Commander instead. Kind of forgot about it and it's still sitting in the closet unopened. I'm thinking about keeping it for myself now and putting it in the trunk of my car. Ordered an aftermarket 50 rd drum for it right after I bought it. Guess I should take it out soon and shoot it.

That glock mag version is the hot seller.  The multi mag version I have can be modified to accept CZ, Beretta, S&W 59xx, etc  - Glock version is on it's own due to Glocks uniquely unnatural but highly popular grip angle.

Mine is working its way up to doing vehicle duty.  For the past couple years - getting to the vehicle has been my shortest route to a fresh mag.  Very soon, arrival at the vehicle will allow me to put a rifle in hand.  It will stow neatly in truck, car or motorcycle saddlebag and deployment is as fast as racking a pistol slide.

This one was priced $40 more because it accepts the Glock magazines but hey wadda ya gonna do? :th_thicon_idea: Folded it's going to fit right nice in the trunk side wall of my vehicle. Grip feels just like my Kel Tec .22 WMR PMR 30.

I'm hoping I can show this as "the last gun I bought" - I submitted an offer for it and the consignor sent a counter offer - this morning I delivered my "final" offer, so I'll be waiting to hear if it's accepted/or not - if not, I'll keep looking for that "collectable" that I'd like to own

Pulled the trigger on my first polymer pistol and my first non bolt action striker firearm Saturday morning. GrabAGun is slaughtering the market price on S&W M&P pistols, and their $7.29 flat rate shipping is keeping their price competitive.   I beat Bud's ask by $25 even after paying tax and shipping. I did not request a price match from Bud's 'cause I decided to support GrabAGun as a thanks for their pricing model - I saved a lot on mag's I got from them recently.

I will be yanking that trigger out as quickly as I can fund the mandatory Apex trigger upgrade. I rented the factory model last week and was soooooo disappointed that I spent the week shopping CZ. This 1911 fanboi is still amazed that the M2.0 trigger enhancement  is lauded as a significant  improvement of the model upgrade.  Then, on Thursday, I fondled Dom's Apex enhanced example.  Both Smith and Apex owe @domineaux commission on these sales. They would NOT have happened without his guidance.   He already has my thanks.

Picked out my first cross draw holster this morning 'cause this will be a key component of my vehicle/travel security kit. Yep ... I gotta buy a handful of 10 round magazines so I can downgrade my security to satisfy the States of Maryland, New Jersey and New York for my trip to PA in June - SMH.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180311/89bff111f763e8c214d96614317a5f65.jpg)

I look at it as being fiscally conservative. Unfortunately for me, and my wallet, I usually seem to work things out financially if I want it bad enough.
I don't need another Corvette but this 2015 with less than 10K miles caught my eye the other day. I want them to come down another 3K on the price which they are willing to do if I go with their financing which I am not willing to do. I get much better rates through my credit union and they are close but not close enough. I'm in no hurry and if they sell it that's fine. Unlike that Lugar there are always plenty of vette's for sale in the Houston/Austin area.

I went to the Ft.Worth gun show yesterday and picked up a new toy. A S&W 15/22 Sport rifle. I really never cared for the AR 22's until I shot a friends. They are pretty accurate little rifles.
I cleaned it when I got home and removed the flash hider off the barrel so I could attach my suppressor.

The one negative point I have with the rifle - The barrel is threaded about a 1/2" too far for a rimfire suppressor, I put two crush washers on it so I could secure the suppressor tight. I will machine a spacer to fix this problem, but S&W should've been aware of this to begin with. It's a rimfire, not a center fire - Thread the barrel for the correct style of attachments!

I shot 75 rounds out of it using Aguila 40 gr Sub-sonic's & Federal 38 gr High Velocity bulk match bullets. Not a single hiccup. It fed, and ejected every round perfectly.
It comes with Magpul BUIS sights, and I picked up a QD riser for it. I mounted my old trusty Sightron SII 4-16x42 scope on the riser, and installed it on the rail.
Now I just need to sight it in, and go to the ranch & clear out the turtle population in the stock tanks.

altho not in my possession today I ordered a (being) reconditioned 1935 Nazi 9mm Luger - came across this fellow's interesting site and clicked on the "Handgun Sales" tab - to see that all he had advertised were "Sold"

http://www.lugerman.com/Pages/MainPages/Contact.html

so I sent off an email, requesting that he contact me if/when he had other examples for sale - he almost immediately got back to me saying he was working on 6 pistols (and explained what he had in the works)

I telephoned him and inquired about the 1935 Nazi and ordered it - have sent the "down payment" and my FFL's info and am now waiting for pics (will post when I get 'em)

I'm still interested in a "collectable" but this "shooter" will offer me the opportunity to "learn" Lugers

so, ordering should count as the "last gun you bought", right..?

Legacy Collectables sent an email and informed me that the consignor of the 1906 DWM Luger that I submitted an offer on last week has been accepted - so now I'm gonna be a 2 Luger man - the re-built 1935 Nazi 9mm as my "shooter" and this pristine 1910-1912 7.56x23 (.30caliber Luger) "collectable"

Ordered

on Saturday.

GrabAGun has had my FFL information since Saturday.  But they hadn't shipped.  Since they were less eager than me (they have my money - why rush, right?), I didn't feel bad 'bout the left turn I made yesterday afternoon.  I put the brakes on that 5" thumb safety model with sights I knew I wouldn't be able to see.

Whenever they get around to it (SMH), they'll be shipping my FFL:

I decided that I prefer installing the drop-in thumb safety bits over installing dovetail sights which never (actually, once so far) seem to "drop-in".  It also brings me to my preferred (but not offered in FDE with a thumb safety) 4.25" barrel which I had sacked in favor of the thumb safety model.

The factory trigger is still on the chopping block, but I know which to order and install.

End result, I will get exactly what I want rather than settling for its longer barrel'd brother.  And, I get the Truglo TFXs factory installed rather than hacked in at home.  My only concern will be using an uninstall video to guide the install of the thumb safety - Youtube offers at least 10 video presentations on uninstalling the thumb safety but none for installation.

I picked up a cheap Stoeger Cougar 8040FT. Then I spent a bit on some NOS Farrar grips & grip grooves for the Cougar. Not quite sure about how I feel about the grooves yet. I think Iíll finally try my hand at checkering the front & back straps on this gun along with a few other modifications Iíve had in mind. I also put in an extended mag release. I have a stripped Beretta 8040D slide, so I installed a FastFire baseplate & sat a tall 92 Combat front sight onto it for this picture as potential ideas of what else to do with this frame.

Got my new H&K P30SK  I love this gun.  It shoots like its Big Brother the P30, but it conceals better and I find the DA/SA trigger to be better than the vaunted PPQ.  I added the pinky rest for an additional 2 rounds on the 10 round magazines, and got the adapter to use the P30 magazines.

Went to an estate auction with my brother last night. I got a flat out steal on this beauty! $533 with buyer's premium.

S&W 696 pre-lock. I did change the grip, I didn't like the Uncle Mike's hard rubber grips that are original to the gun. Looking forward to shooting the revolver tomorrow after work.

Ron picked up a like new S&W 432PD for $587 out the door, a pretty good deal on that too.

This one is still smoothing out.  My P30 took about 500 rounds to smooth out and I'm at less than 200 now.  The SA is crisp with short reset, and the DA ia a little long, but my DA shots are a little better on target than the SA.  YMMV

You'll want the V3 version of the P30SK for a DA/SA model.

well I'm getting pissed at the fellow from whom I ordered the reconditioned 1935 Nazi Luger in 9mm (shooter) - so I've gone ahead and bought a very nice conditioned 1938 Luger (gee - just happens to be my Birth Year - will be easy to remember how old it is..)

this will make my 2nd Luger (now, in addition to my P06 (1912) 7.65 collector, which I'll never shoot) - I am one happy camper and will be on pins and needles until it arrives and I get it to the range - pow pow pow

here's a few pics from the sellers website (Legacy Collectibles) (the adverted price is not the price we settled on..) :

Picked these 3 up this weekend at an estate sale.  They need a little cleaning but over all in great condition.  Unfortunate that previous owner wasn't big on keeping the boxes. I would liked to have gotten the box for the Beretta 92 and the safety key for the Smith.

Tango, Hat's off to your pre WW 1 and WW 2 Luger's. Just outstanding examples. If you don't mind me asking are you using a local FFL to have them shipped to or do you have a C&R license? Reason I ask is when I buy C&R eligible (50 years or older) firearms I have them delivered to my front door. No middle man. Have bought four since I got my license about this time last year. Best $30 dollars I ever gave to Uncle Sam.

Ricochet, is that a .32 Tomcat at the top right? Have had my eye open for one for awhile now. Have a Model 950 in .25 which is very similar.

I had thought about a C&R but this'll probably be "it" as far as those eligible coming to me - yes, I'm using Shooter's Station as my FFL for this one (too) - good suggestion tho

Yes itís the .32 Tomcat. +1 on getting a C&R 03 license. Have had one for over 15 years. No telling how much money it has saved me.

It's been a while since I actually got it, but I picked up a H&R Pardner 12 Gauge home defense shotgun, 18.5", in a butt stock configuration.

It's rough around the edges function-wise (the slide release requires a firm push), but considering I got it for $120 as new (still had the factory oil on it), I won't complain.

Bought a DE 14" hunting version in 44 Mag, really accurate at 25 but pretty heavy to hold.
Interesting enough if you 'hold it right', the recoil isn't bad.  If you don't it doesn't feed well and is painful shot.

Why you ask?  With 14" barrel and 1 foot sight radius, it's a blast to shoot.

If you are in Plano I'm south a dozen miles and would love to buy you a box of ammo and shoot a few rounds.
I'm guessing you shoot at Frisco Gun Club or the Bullet Trap?
If that's not being too forward.

got word this morning that my "new" 1938 P08 9mm Luger has shipped (via usps, ugh  :help:) - I'm hoping it'll be delivered to my FFL Monday (or sooner) - can hardly wait to take it down, scrub it up and shoot it

my 2nd Pistole Parabellum (Luger) finally got to me.  I cancelled my order for a reconditioned 1935 and bought a 1938, 9mm Mauser (from Legacy Collectibles, the same folks from whom I bought my 1st Luger)

the 2 pistols are shown below - both in pristine original condition - the top pistol is my P06 (model 1906) built in 1912 and it's in 7.65mm (.30cal Luger), built by DWM - the P06 and subsequent builds incorporated a coiled recoil spring vs the laminated flat spring and are referred to as the "new" models - this I consider my Collectible and it won't be shot (note the Grip Safety)

the bottom pistol, also in very very good condition is my P08 (1908 model year), 9mm, built in 1938 (my birth year) - it was commissioned by the bad guys (Nazi war machine) to be built by Mauser - because of the limitations of the Versailles Treaty (after WWI) the Germans tried to throw-off the powers-that-were with "codes" for all their war related manufacturing - the code for Mauser was S42 so instead of the name Mauser on this pistol there's an S42 stamped on it (note the Shoulder Stock Lug on the bottom rear of the grip)

Georg Luger "invented" the 9x19 round in 1902 and it's the same round that we all are familiar with today (9mm Luger, 9x19, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19 NATO and just plain 9mm) - and on the advise of today's Luger shooters, it's Winchester White Box 9mm that "works" the best in these old pistols.  This P08 will be my range "shooter" and after some range time I'll be sure to post a report

add :  barrel length on the top pistol = 4 3/4".....bottom pistol + 4"

OK already ... yes, Dred bought a flip'n AR15.  See, anything can happen.

- 9mm, blowback, 8" barrel, 1in10" twist, glockazines -

I'll be smiling ear to ear when I hand it to my father on Father's Day - you knew there had to be a good excuse.

And, I see that Palmetto has sold through ... glad I did the deed by phone from Kingsville yesterday and didn't wait till I got home today.  I happened to run into the only actual "operator" I know at Mandatory and with his help ... I grabbed this instead of the RIA VR60 (Turkish SA 12ga) that was my alternate contender.

Have you previously used ETS 9 mm magazines? Never heard of them until I went to the PSA site a few minutes ago. The $14  price is attractive.

Adjustable gas:  Yes, full power/magnum and light loads.  Adjustment is accomplished by selecting the appropriate gas fitting.  Both come with the shotty.

Aftermarket magazines:  Yes, but availability is an issue.  Came with 2 5 round mags; I've read about  8 & 10 rd magazines, but I haven't found a seller offering them.  I found 3 vendors that claim to have the 5 rounders in stock.  Thankfully, 5 rounds of 12 guage at a time is plenty.  But, when someone builds a drum mag that works - I'll buy one.  Since I'm gonna be "that guy" when I take it out to play trap or skeet ... a drum mag would boost me to "THAT GUY" status - I am mostly kidding.

I bought my son the International Ordnance AK style EM 12B last month for his birthday this Sunday. It accepts the Saiga 12 and 10 round magazines but not the drum. Making merry tonight but I'll put up some pics tomorrow and the accessories I slapped on it.
In the meantime enjoy this video of it and other assorted 12 ga.'s with bump stocks.

Not counting the stripped lower I just bought from Primary Arms (will pick up my $29 AR tomorrow), I stumbled across a 1997 manufactured Marlin 1894CS on Friday.  Looked at it for 30 minutes and could not identify a reason not to claim it as mine. Put it on layaway and planned to go back and try to talk myself out of it this week.

Well pops decided it would be too hot for the fishing trip we had planned for today while the shop was still open yesterday. Loaded up the girlfriend and grabbed it yesterday.

Took it to Bayou this afternoon and I am still smiling. I should have taken a revolver, but I'll have one out next weekend. LOVE the
357 lever that's hovered at the top of my list for a couple years. I was surprised though.  38 spl through 18.5 inches felt like 22 short at <900fps. But the 158gr .357 pushed around 1800fps. Both loads were Federal.   That was a bigger difference than I imagined

Last purchase. This was sold as used, but I can't find any wear on this thing. No wear on the slide or barrel. Went in to buy a new Glock 26, but jumped on this one when I saw the price. Saved a few bucks.

All this talk about Glock reminded me I actually have Model 33 in .357 Sig in my safe. Kind of forgot it was in there. It really belongs to my LEO son who carried it for years as an off duty piece but when I gifted him a S&W Shield a few years ago he put the Smith on and left the Glock with me. I have shot it a few times and like it OK., find it a little snappy for decent follow up shots and the trigger takes a little time to get used to but wouldn't hesitate to use it for self defense or carry.

Itís been a while since Iíve posted in here. Since the Neos I built a .556 AR pistol. That was fun. :)

Did some Gunbroker shopping.
Found a Beretta Tomcat with a pre-cracked frame for cheap. Itís been spending plenty of time in my pocket.
Found a KelTec Sub2000 Gen2 Mutlimag in .40 that takes Beretta 96 mags & added some MCARBO parts to it.
Found a very basic LE Trade-in 4Ē 6-shot Smith & Wesson 686-6 that should be on the way shortly.
And at a local gun/pawn shop I put a Beretta APX Combat on layaway :)

Bass Pro now takes Cabela's points!!! I can't wait to shoot it.

Its not the Baretta Custom Carry II that I so badly want but it helps get me through the search.
