I couldn't care less about what you do to your body but second hand smoke for 1 thing and I won't mention how dangerous this makes driving under the influence can be  - this is total fill-the-coffers nonsense - brought about by the new generations of "me, me, me" morons

I care:  Stupidity by an individual can be incredibly expensive for society:  Not wearing a motorcycle helmet then having a -vegetative-state-resulting head accident, burning out your body or brain with drugs, (but not leaving this world), or engaging in other hazardous activities that's going to require very serious funding by society for very long periods of time.

What ever happened to Marvin Zindler Eye Bulging news?   I'm guessing some of the stations can't keep up with his standard of careful, in-depth investigations.

I don’t see the red flag, and 19 handguns and 20 long guns may be “massive” in philly but not Texas or west of the Mississippi or south of Ohio.
But the pipe bomb was just down right stupid.

Ok children stop fighting and go to your rooms before I take this belt off!

This thread is going around in circles and doing nothing good, can someone
close it?

Yes. Please do. Or remove it, even better.

If you've been under-fire, literally, what was that like, having someone shoot at or over you?  Other than staying low, how did you deal with it then, and any aftereffect now?

On the other hand, it sounds like a great place for bank robbers, murders, people who like to take a dump on the street, druggies and ...
Maybe we should be be offering felons in Texas $1,000 and a 1 way ticket to SFO?

Picture this: She hangs on for a short time, Pence is president (for whatever reason) and plays real hardball with the Senate.
Hard tilt right.

If rights under the Second Amendment can be regulated or taxed, why not regulate lies published under the First?

The SEER for a good window unit is about 70% of a mini split.

I see a move from central AC to room by room mini-splits.
Much higher SEER’s, lower cost and you get precise room by room temperature control.

Doesn't that end up costing more electricity?
No for 3 reasons:
1) you can turn individual rooms totally off, or set to a specific temperature (with your smartphone) instead of keeping the entire house (or zones) at a particular temperature.
2) The SEER of the mini-splits is significantly higher than almost every central split system, so the power drawn is significantly less than a similar unit.
3) There is no duct work. There's a unit in each room with a separate outdoor unit.

I spent $500 on a 1 ton 19 SEER unit from a importer of Toshiba units in Brownsville. (The US version is $1100) Wasn't difficult to install, and it's the most consistent temperature in the house as it has a variable speed compressor.
