General Gun Discussion / Re: Giant D**che or T**d Sandwich?

I had a Ruger single action and an EAA with a 9" barrel. Both shot well in LR and Magnum but I got tired if the slow reloading. I picked up an Arminius 22  LR/Mag  revolver. It has a swing out cylinder, is single/double action. A 6" barrel. Adjustable rear sight. Mongo like!

My G17 is as accurate, reliable and holds more rounds than my 1911 (10 mm). It became as accurate when I changed to a Lone Wolf barrel. I had a CZ75B for a few years also an S&W 5906 both excellent pistols. I could have kept them. I chose not to. The worst P O S is/was the Sig P 250 F. I wasted my money on that one. I hear that Sig Saucer is a fine pistol but I can't bring myself to invest in another. I read other peoples opinions about pistols the liked/didn't like and make my own judgements.

Portlandia and Eugene are a leftist/liberal voting block that force their opinion on the rest of the state. We recently lost the right to conduct private party sales. Now a transfer is required but you can call the state police, pay a $10 fee and complete an instant transfer/background check. It also provides the buyer a check that the gun being purchased is not stolen. Multiple guns can be done in the same check. I'm still working on getting my wife to move to Texas. Looking at the hill country/Kerrville area. I was born in San Antonio, have a lot of family there.

I bought a P250F as my first Sig. I didn't like the trigger. Sold it. No more SIG's for me.

Handguns and Revolvers / Re: Ruger LCR in .327 Federal announced

I bought a Single Six in .327, stainless  5 1/2" barrel. It holds 7 rounds. It shoots .32 acp as well as the 32 short, long, H&R. The trigger is light enough that I'm shooting it as is.
The 327 LCR is very tempting.

Introduce Yourself / Liberty Pistol and Rifle Club

I  joined awhile back but was out of touch for awhile too.

Recently I found an old coffee can that belonged to my dad. He passed on in 1981. Inside the can, I found a crumpled envelope  from Liberty Pistol and Rifle Club 208 Luther Drive, San Antonio. The envelope is postmarked July 31, 1951.
I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this club. I did goole it with no info.
I'm also attaching a picture of me holding an F N Mauser inherited from dad. I have it still but added a Timney trigger and a Leupold scope.Well I couldn't get the picture to upload

What type of wood does Ruger use on 10-22 rifle stocks?

Handguns and Revolvers / Re: Thoughts on Taurus?
« on: July 02, 2014, 10:24:42 AM »
I am not a taurus fan but  I did take one as a trade in last weekend. It is heavy and large for a 40 cal. compact. I was surprised that the lifetime warranty  applies to the buyer of a used pistol. My daughter might take it because is has a Crimson Trace instead of her Kahr CW40 which does not.

Handguns and Revolvers / Re: What's your favorite trigger?
« on: July 02, 2014, 10:02:53 AM »
Ghost in my Glock , Timney in my 2 Mausers, Wolf springs in my BlackHawk. Factory trigger in my Dan Wesson.

I took in a Taurus PT 140 Millennium Pro with Crimson Trace in trade at the Canby  gunshow last weekend. The battery died today. I called Crimson Trace and they are sending a new battery for free! I was also surprised that the lifetime warranty on taurus is lifetime---meaning even though I got it used, the warranty is still good. I am not a fan of taurus but that is a very good feature of their warranty.

General Gun Discussion / Re: What was your last gun you bought?

Savage model 24 with 30 30 on top/ 20 gauge below and a Turkish Mauser original military / package deal

When I flew from Portland Oregon to San Antonio, they were nervous in Portland. When I flew back, it went smooth.

I too have been working on the list.
A Stainless 444 Marlin Lever action
La Rue OBR 7.62  20" barrel. I would have it now but the waiting list is very long.

Handguns and Revolvers / Re: How many mags do you keep for each handgun?
« on: February 08, 2014, 04:02:36 PM »
For my Glock 17, 5 mags fit in the Glock box one in the grip, two 17 rds and two 33 rnds. Thats all that wil fit and still close the lid.

My friend Skip bought one, accurate and functioned perfectly right out of the box. He did change the grips and installed an extended slide release to go with the grips. Well worth the price.

I also like the Saiga in .308 for a semi auto. For accuracy, I like 7 mm or 6.5 Swede.

I was born in San Antonio in 1947 and in 1955, my folks moved us to calif. I have lived in Oregon for the last 11 years. I was in Texas about three years ago visiting family. The most fun I had was going to Big Spring for a week where my cousin Vern has 20 acres with a cabin. I am retiring this May and plan a trip to Texas in October. I would move there to stay but my wife can't take humid weather. I like shooting 10mm in pistol and 7x57 Mauser in rifle. I'm a second generation NRA Life Member.
