Axxe, Search for specially knife shops in your area.
Try to find one or more that offers knife making classes and enroll.
You'll get a look at the various tools, techniques and raw materials.

Cars, Trucks, Bikes, Atvs / Re: ..gas prices..
« on: December 03, 2019, 08:11:51 AM »
While I was getting some burritos to go a gas tanker pulled up and began filling the tanks. Didn't think much of it until I was at the Wally World gas emporium a couple hours latter filling up my ride. Same tanker and driver were there pumping gas into the stations tanks. Price for super at Wally World was $2.55. At Exxon it was $3.10.

I was getting gas at the station when a tanker pulled up.
Wasn't in any hurry so stayed to watch the process:

It was not a 3 compartment tanker trailer.
Driver went to the first tank lid and metered out gas,
Then opened a storage compartment beneath tanker and
got 2 quarts of green and poured them in and closed lid.
Didn't see any labels on the green additives.

Then went to the next tank lid and metered out gas.
He went back to the storage compartment beneath tanker and
got 3 quarts of blue and poured them in the tank and closed lid.

Then went to the next tank lid and metered out gas.
He went back to the storage compartment beneath tanker and
got 6 quarts of red and poured them in the tank and closed lid.

Looked like same gas with different additives to get the 3 different octane ratings.

I don't watch a lot of TV. See some YouTube vids.
I do like "Tracks Across Africa",
so I have a recording set so don't have to remember when it comes on.

Well...Since we didn't allow alcohol in the house while he was growing up.

I told him to let me think about that and would call him back that night.

Yeah, As an engineer, the guys at work and kids were always bring me some kind of math problem.
Some problems were easy, some hard, some tricky requiring read carefully, some you really need to know the trick.

Then there was this ONE from my son at college.
Called me middle of day at work and asked:

Dad how many beers can I get into my 2 liter hiking hydration pack?

I heard about this a few days ago when I read about the interview of the robber's family. Crazy.

.....

Guys, I, too, saw this a few days ago.

It is crazy.

My "take away" was:
The whole family was taught at home that he could rob and would not get shot.

Tango, Teacher her to clean her own guns !!!

Yea, right. Let us know how that goes.

Well...My wife knows how to safely handle, shoot and clean every gun we own.
She cleans hers.

My son had 2 GFs over the years that liked to shoot as much as he does.
He taught both of'em to how clean the guns they were shooting - And they did.
Still dating 1 of'em.

.
3 or so of the 7 or so pistols that have been laying around, uncleaned, are my Wife's.....yesterday she "sorta-suggested" that I do something about that "problem"

so I managed to "do" 3 of hers, as cursory a cleaning as it was

still have 4 or 5 to do (I just hate cleaning guns)

Tango, Teacher her to clean her own guns !!!

..I've swapped out every emergency tire with a real one in all vehicles.
Also have a air pump, pressure gauge, extra stem valves, stem valve wrench, stem caps and
tire plugging kit in all vehicles.

so, what you're sayin' is that you spent all that money of stuff you haven't needed   :th_thicon_lol: :th_thicon_lol: :th_thicon_lol:

NO!
That was THE BEST PREVENTIVE MEDICINE I've ever taken!
Y'all should try some of it

Really works!  I may never have another flat tire ever!!!

I feel for you man.
I caught some kind of flat tire virus years ago:

Had 3 flat tires and 2 stem valves go bad one at a time all with a 1 years period.
Ever since, I've swapped out every emergency tire with a real one in all vehicles.
Also have a air pump, pressure gauge, extra stem valves, stem valve wrench, stem caps and
tire plugging kit in all vehicles.

Was good medicine!  Have never had a flat since!
