back at the mowing today and got a lot done..the temp wasn't too bad but the dadgum dust about killed me (well, it was bad) - tried mowing in different directions and found that mowing cross-wind worked best, but still.....

the Wife is headed out to Sydney manana so the chore of watering all her new plants and trees falls on my shoulders   :th_thicon_cry:

our local weather idiots (WIs) have been talking about it for a number of days now

wish it would make it's way north - we're dry as a bone and many surrounding counties have issued "burn bans" (not that I'm wanting to get out and do some burning.....)

well, I'm baaaaack (with my old computer and windows 7)

picked it up yesterday from the geek squad at the Tyler Best Buy and it's like finding that old pair of comfortable house shoes that had gone missing

only thing to complain about is that they, somehow, rendered my Adobe Photoshop inop - but it was just a matter of me re-installing it

so - I'm good to go   :th_thicon_idea:

phew.....come on Fall !  After struggling by myself swapping implements on the Tractor yesterday I'm back out on the near and back Pastures, mowing Goat Weed.  Not only the heat but because it's SO dry the dust is really getting to me - went thru 2 handkerchiefs today - not only in the nose but the eyes and everywhere else - plus my 1 liter, 1/2 frozen/1/2 water had gotten, actually HOT

after about 4 1/2 hours I headed in - blow dried the Tractor then hosed it down - then headed for the cement pond - the Wife was finishing up with her stuff and joined me

this farm/ranchin' stuff is hard but I think I'm doin' pretty damned good (for a guy who's right at 81 years "young")

not switching to Mac - will not-so-simply learn windows 10  :-(

my 1st computer was a Mac (1986 I think) - cost $5000+ (with a black only laser printer) - used to make Family calendars (with a Landscape program) - 'twas a very painful task

don't know how Macs are now but it "used to be" that if you wanted ANY program you'd have to buy it (or get it from a friend (and that friend died  :frown:)

no, I'm perfectly happy with windows 7 - too bad they think a good program has to be changed or no longer supported

I had an excellent WWII oriented Combat Flying program for on-line gaming against others) but they (ms) eventually stopped supporting that and rendered the (expensive) program useless   :frown:

of course, change makes $s for the companies.....

I have the full Adobe Photoshop program which windows 10 won't allow to be loaded - same with MS Streets and Trips - plus other programs that won't "work"

and to think I "started" with a Mac.....(shudda stuck with them)

my old computer with windows 7 home is about on it's last legs (plus the fact that m.s. won't support that operating system, soon) - had problems with it in that it sometimes wouldn't "start", sometimes would

have the BB Geek Squad year long maintenance program so took the old guy there yesterday - the "clerk" sorta indicated that it might be the HD giving out

I do have a newer Dell, stored on a closet shelf, that I drag down for just such occasions - but it runs windows 10, with which I'm totally unfamiliar - plus I hate the mail program that is bundled with the OS

guess I'll need a copy of "windows 10, for dummies" before the time comes

beto the guppy, is swimming with the sharks - it does show, however, the mentality of the dimwitocratic party that he's even allowed to be "up there" as one of the ten finalists

but, on another note.....I'm surprised that the subject of "reparations" wasn't brought up in the "debate" - in light of the debate's location - now that would have brought hoots from the audience

have the "hefty" (1/2lb plus) marinating in my Teriyaki for tonight's Burger

but, while it's doing so, I went ahead and make the Chicken Marsala (I always have a bottle of Marsala in the fridge) - I used the most simple recipe that I could find and I believe that it's as good as any Marsala dish I've ever had in any restaurant (my 1st time making it myself)

almost swapped the Burger for the Chicken for tonight's dinner.....but will have the Chicken manana night   :th_thicon_idea:

got the ingredients to make Chicken Marsala, which I will put together, but I've been hungry for a good Hamburger so I just finished making a batch of my Teriyaki Sauce, in which I'll marinate the Hamburger Patty - then when ready to put on a Bun and eat I'll add Cheese, Tomato and I've also got a couple of "just ripe" Avocados - so will add slices of one of 'em

have some packaged Curly Fries which I may, or may not fix  (?)

also picked up a 1/2 dozen Peaches at the market - will peel those, then slice 'em, put 'em in a bowl and sprinkle some white Sugar over the top and let 'em chill in the fridge - love me some fresh Peaches

ironically I had recorded that movie and decided, this morning, to watch it.....after "those from outer space" arrived, then left, I fast-forwarded thru it,  to the end and then hit the "delete" option

what crap

guess the above is "over my head" (of course, a lot of things go that way.....)

our cleaning gal was here this morning so (after doing my "pre-cleaning clean) I made myself scarce - hand watered my Wife's 42 new plants and trees - then, with the hose, watered all the plants she's got out on the deck of the cement pond

weed eating under more of the front Pasture fence and then washed the Gator (so she'll have a nice clean ride when she gets back from Sydney - then it started heating up outside so finished early to (but still got in 5 solid hours of work)

gonna ask her which is her favorite - the Gator or the Spartan zero turn (I know the answer.....she'll say "both equally")
- tho she's driven it she's sorta intimidated by the Tractor

..using one of those nose flushing pots,
where you pour warm/hot saline water in one nostril and it flows
out the other..

believe I'm gonna pass on that.....

so, with the diagnosis, did you get a treatment plan (hope so and that it'll make ya all better))

now see - I knew there were funny stories out there.....

dang - I thought each here would have at least 1 fun story to tell - I've been involved in a bunch of funny things that have happened thru the years - fortunate, I guess - must be the pits to go thru life without "humor"
