Off Topic Discussion (NON FIREARM RELATED) / Living under a rock lately?
« on: September 17, 2019, 04:09:21 PM »
I guess Iíve been living under a rock lately! Is it just me but why didnít I know that a tropical storm was to make landfall today in SE Texas? Did this storm just pop up over the last day or so?

These Democrats donít know what will happen if they start taking property from people that didnít commit a crime. This isnít a 2nd amendment issue anymore, itís a 4th amendment issue. What part donít they understand of ď...unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated...Ē I donít hear anyone talking about taking weapons (even a buyback) being unconstitutional.

For the record I never owned a gun and theyíre arenít any in my house!

General Gun Discussion / Free ammo
« on: August 27, 2019, 07:37:54 PM »
I had a strange but lucky delivery today. When I came home from work this afternoon there was a heavy package at the door. Upon opening the package I realize that it was 500 rounds of 9mm, that I didnít order. My name and address was on the package but I didnít order any ammo this August.

Rifles & Shotguns / Anderson Manufacturing?
« on: May 14, 2019, 11:04:02 PM »
What do yíall know about Anderson rifles? Came across an incomplete (not 80% but still just the frame) AR lower last weekend, (had no intention to build another AR) but I bought it ($60) then ordered from cheaper-than-dirt a trigger, butt stock, and all the other items needed for the lower. They all came in this evening (2 business days, thatís fast!) and now I have a compete lower. Now looking for an upper... BUT whatís yallís opinion on Anderson rifles? It is RF85 Treated which means it doesnít need lubrication?! Sounds like a sells pitch to me. Oh and the wife has no clue but my 11 year old son says I should build an AR every year but in a different caliber.

General Gun Discussion / Gun skins, would you?
« on: March 26, 2019, 08:43:29 PM »
I found a site that sells vinyl Ďstickerí skins for your gun. I bought some skins for my AR-15 magazines to try them out. But what you think? Would you buy a skin for your gun?

« on: February 02, 2019, 09:57:18 PM »

Chris, your always in my familyís memories, God bless.

Off Topic Discussion (NON FIREARM RELATED) / Iran lol!
« on: July 23, 2018, 10:26:50 PM »
Iran says:
ďAmerica must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all warsĒ.

Trump tweets:

Iran tweets:
COLOR US UNIMPRESSED: The world heard even harsher bluster a few months ago. And Iranians have heard them óalbeit more civilized onesófor 40 yrs. Weíve been around for millennia & seen fall of empires, incl our own, which lasted more than the life of some countries. BE CAUTIOUS!

What do you think? I would say the mother of all wars was WW2, other than the Tehran conference, they didnít contribute much in the motheróó, so they shouldnít underestimate the US. Iran and even that other crazy nation, North Korea, are mini Nazi Germany and Stalin Soviet Union, respectfully, both we beat.

👍 Trump

General Gun Discussion / US model of 1917 article

Has anyone read their American Rifleman magazine? Nice article on the model 1917! One of my favorite and largely underrated World War I Rifle.

Off Topic Discussion (NON FIREARM RELATED) / R. Lee Ermey died.
« on: April 15, 2018, 11:12:08 PM »
Just read the news tonight, the marine turned actor R. Lee Ermey passed way Sunday. Damn shame, good guy, and he was only 74 years old. RIP and remember, ďYou little scumbag! I've got your name! I've got your ass! You will not laugh! You will not cry! You will learn by the numbers and I will teach you!Ē Boy have I always wanted to tell my students that line!

General Gun Discussion / Tomball gun show this weekend
« on: April 12, 2018, 10:18:16 PM »
Just FYI, for you north Houston, Tomball, cypress, woodlands people; there is a gun show this weekend April 14-15. Itís at the VFW on Alice Rd just a mile west of HWY249. Itís small, but good deals can be made. I traded a $350 gun for a $500 gun at the last show. Last time they had a nice selection of knives too! I might just get me one of those knives the nice lady was selling, if sheís there again.

Well I guess I fired my ďgunĒ off a little too much. My wife and I are expecting our third child sometime this fall! We thought we were done, my youngest will be 10 and my oldest will be 14 when the baby is born. Iíve been in a state of shock for the entire week.

General Gun Discussion / 2018 NRA Exhibit, Dallas
« on: March 20, 2018, 06:01:44 PM »

Gun News & Laws / School shooting, here it comes
« on: February 14, 2018, 07:30:56 PM »
If you seen the news, itís happened again, a shooting at a Florida high school. Very troubling and sad, I had a long nice talk with my daughter (7th grader) this afternoon over the different things for her to do, watch for, and how to respond. I didnít want to scare her but I want her to be a prepared mostly mentally prepared to know how to survive a situation like that. Not many of yíall know this but Iím a high school history teacher, these school shootings trouble me. The current laws prevent me from carrying my gun on campus, I can leave it in the car (not much good that does). I do know that school districts can allow for LTC/CHL holders that are trained by law enforcement (40 hours or more training) and are teachers to have a weapon on campus. Other teachers, students, and stuff members would remain unaware of that teacherís other responsibilities of carrying a gun. Currently under my understanding, my school district that I work at does not allow for that. Itís sad that at work Iím a soft target.

General Gun Discussion / Misfits shooting range
« on: January 18, 2018, 10:13:35 PM »

General Gun Discussion / A shooting meet?
« on: November 14, 2017, 07:01:35 PM »
Hello gentlemen,
Iíve been on this forum for a few years now, but Iíve only met one of yíall. This coming week Iím off, I was wondering if any of yíall in the Houston and surrounding areas might be off from work or able to meet at a shooting range next week? Monday or Tuesday (nov 20-21). I have some rifles that I received this summer that I havenít shot yet and some that I just love shooting. .308NATO, how are your eyes? I want to shoot my German G-43 rifle and compare it to my M1 Garand and to my .303 Lee Enfield No4MkI. Good company is always nice.

Im also off the week before and after Christmas!

I saw on the news today that a train carrying M1 Abrams tanks hit a cement truck in front of the hotwells shooting range.

I canít get this damn picture to post.
