This country has a serious problem with the healthcare system that is first in dollars spent but 43rd in services delivered.... But Obamacare was a terrible answer from highly vested interests that had no chance of achieving parity for everyone.

Guaranteed to go back to the Supreme Court, I’d be really happy to see them agree. But we still have to fix the system.  In this partisan environment I don’t think that is possible.

Off Topic Discussion (NON FIREARM RELATED) / Selling a used car
« on: November 28, 2018, 08:18:33 PM »
I forgot what fun it is to sell a used car.
Mom passed last year and Dad quit driving recently.  So I agreed to sell his car for him.

2011 Lexus ES 350, nice sedan, 38K miles.  Should be easy right?
3 people are interested before an hour goes by after the ad goes live.

First guy is really pushy, wants me to tell him what's the lowest I'll sell it for without ever having seen the car.
Kelly Blue Book for private party trade is 14.7K
I suggest he comes and see the car first.
Replies he doesn't want to waste his time, just give me a bottom price.

So I tell him I'll sell it for "1 Dollar.  If it's the right dollar."
He doesn't get it. (As in the right dollar is a 1901 uncirculated Morgan Silver dollar worth about $1/4M).  I tell him we're done.  He still doesn't get it.  Bye.

The other 2 people were actually very nice to deal with.  They'll get a grand off the Ahole.  :)

Interesting question was posed, so I'll repeat it here.  Someone gives you $5,000 with conditions:

You have to spend it all today (before midnight).
You can't give any of it away.
You can't pay off debt or invest it.
You must fully take possession of it today (no layaway, no future services or future delivery).
You can't buy something for someone else.

Make sense?

So what would you buy?

General Gun Discussion / Ultrasonic cleaner: Yes, no, which one?
« on: October 20, 2018, 10:16:53 PM »
Trying to clean some guns, I understand these can often do a better job than manual cleaning.
If you have one, what do you think, and which would you recommend?

Well guess who just got accused of lying by their ex...........

Apparently a boyfriend witnessed her coaching someone to pass a polygraph test, except the Psycho Dr. testified under oath she had never so coached....

I'm wondering if Schumer, Feinstein and Pelosi can spell "Suborning Perjury"?

Could be career, 'just a job', full or part time, paid or volunteer, what's the best / most rewarding / fun-est job you've ever had.
Most of us here have been around a while and likely had some good and bad jobs.

What was the best / most rewarding and why?

General Gun Discussion / Defense Distributed library / printing 3D guns
« on: September 28, 2018, 12:20:00 PM »
Received the (lawfully purchased) Defense Distributed library of printable guns today.
Curious if anyone else purchased them and has a printer?
Or any other related plans.

General Gun Discussion / OH SHI.!!!! Shotgun trap (2), homeowner&deputy(0)
« on: September 18, 2018, 12:14:35 PM »
Ouch!
Looks like a “young man” setup 12 shotgun traps in his Tomball home, catching himself and the responding deputy (even though he warned the deputy).

Not sure what you do with a 73 year old that could be charged with 12 felonies...

Prof shoots himself in the arm to protest Trump.  Yea, that makes sense....
Unfortunately, he only used a .22, and not something more substantial.

Monday evening I was unloading 6- 40 lb bags from the truck, being careful not to bend over and hurt my lower back.
On picking up the last one and turning it I apparently did a big time back muscle pull / major league 10/10 pain.
Went to the doc yesterday, he prescribed  anti-inflammatory + pain + muscle relaxer AND a steroid shot.

ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE AS AWAKE AS ME AND WANTS TO CHAT OR PUMP SOME IRON?
Note to self, don’t do that (muscle pull OR steroid shot) again.

Off Topic Discussion (NON FIREARM RELATED) / TXAZ vs. fire ants
« on: August 15, 2018, 04:48:19 AM »
Was working on a sprinkler last weekend.
“Found” about a dozen fire ants.
Hadn’t been bit in a long time.
So scraped each off and challenged them to a concrete match.
I think I won!

“It was just May”, that went by super fast.
Does it seem like the older you get the faster time goes?
