Tactical Shooting / Legitimate Advanced Training
« on: March 18, 2017, 04:51:10 PM »
Anybody taken any classes from professional instructors?  Who were they?  How was it?  What drills or instruction really stuck?

Defensive Tactics / Dry fire practice. Do you do it?
« on: March 18, 2017, 04:49:09 PM »
So how many in here do some sort of dry fire training?  Those of you that do, what drills do you run?  Mag changes? Malfunction drills?  Draw and double tap?  What?

How often do you do it?  Weekly, monthly, what?

Handguns and Revolvers / Beretta APX Release Date
« on: February 28, 2017, 07:16:12 AM »

MSRP for these is $575.00.  That puts them on par with Glock.  Hopefully they will end up at 80%ish like normal.  The Px4, for example, MSRP is $650 but can be had for  $525 pretty easily.  If Beretta gets to the shelf at under $500 that would be awesome.  I guess we'll see soon enough.

Rifles & Shotguns / M&P 15-22 or a Beretta ARX 160 22????
« on: May 26, 2016, 12:46:05 PM »
What say you guys?  Since I've got a 22 suppressor on the way...... Decided I need a 22 rifle host as well. Definitely going to get one or the other. The new Mlok M&P looks pretty dang sweet, but I do want a ARX eventually. Lol. Anybody shot the ARX?  The abundance of parts and excellent reliability of the M&P make it irrelevant how well made the ARX is or isn't?

Handguns and Revolvers / My (NOT Ship's) new 92A1
« on: May 21, 2016, 06:54:07 PM »
So I listed a new Ruger American 9mm for trade a little while back. Ended up trading for a 92A1. Much more my speed. Then, of course, I ordered a bunch of parts for it. Decided to go with the XS Big Dot sights, and while the levers were off went ahead an put in Wilson Combat's low profile lever.

Then it was time to get started.

Installed the following from Wilson Combat:
1 - Fluted guide rod and flat wire recoil spring kit
2 - Steel short reach trigger
3 - Oversized mag release
4 - Mag guide

Also installed a Beretta Elite II hammer and D spring, finished it up with some LOK Grips and Hogue grip screws. A little Lucas gun oil and it feels excellent.

Anybody have any experience with these?  Good, bad, meh? I've read about some problems with the decocker, but that's about it. Don't I remember a member here with one or two?  Ship?  Ever handle one?

Sold my Neos and picked up this bad boy -

Going to get some grips and more mags for it. Much better than my Neos. I've read good things.  I'll do a review after shooting it.

For Trade only. Can add cash on my end.  Located in the Waco area but can travel if you have want I'm after. Really after the following:

Beretta 92A1/M9A1
Beretta 92FS Inox
Px4 Inox
Px4sc in .40

Open to other offers as well, but I'm not really needing another striker fired anything.

Handguns and Revolvers / New Grips on my 92's
« on: April 06, 2016, 08:30:55 AM »
I decided I wanted something a little more aggressive than my Hogue wrap around grips. Figured I'd try these out. So far I dig it. Very aggressive.

Handguns and Revolvers / Added a "Mag Guide" to my Beretta
« on: March 22, 2016, 01:44:15 PM »
So after I switched to the 17 round mags I discovered I wasn't a big fan of it not really being a "flush fit" anymore.  I'll take function over form usually, so I kept them.

Came across this WC "Mag guide" the other day. I really like the look. Honestly, doesn't seem much more functional. I'll do some work with both of mine and see if I can really tell a difference, but I doubt it. At least now I can have function and still like the form. Lol.
Besides, who the hell uses a lanyard?

About time to replace that grip now that I look at it.  Lol.

Anyone seen this yet?  They are only available to preorder that I can find, but being priced at $100 you can bet your sweet bottom when they hit the shelves I'll be giving these a try.  Looks pretty sharp.

General Gun Discussion / Double taps?
« on: December 23, 2015, 01:59:29 PM »

Double's a great phrase, especially if you want to sound like a B grade 80s action hero. It definitely sounds cooler than "controlled pairs." Despite what some may think, the two things are different. This evening guest writer Jared Ross is going to explain the difference, and why he thinks one is far more appropriate than the other.

Rifles & Shotguns / M16A4 Clone
« on: October 30, 2015, 03:00:22 PM »
Got everything in except for the low pro ladder rail covers pretty much.  All I can say is........................ I likes.  Lol.  I'm digging it, but with the weather so bad it'll be a little bit before it gets broke in.

Got my rail covers in, as well as my Blitzkrieg front sight post.

Added - Final touches

Well, I say final touches. I do have a magwell slap ordered. So one last thing and I'll leave it alone. Lol.

Gun News & Laws / Texas Law Sheild in hot water?

"TLS charges its members $131.40 a year if they have a concealed-carry license, and $89 a year if they don’t. But what members actually get in return — and who they’re getting it from — has aroused plenty of curiosity and skepticism among gun owners."

Off Topic Discussion (NON FIREARM RELATED) / Newest Family Member

Well, we were finally ready to have another German Shepherd Dog after losing Trigger almost 7 months ago.  We have missed him very much.  Floppy ear and all.

So we went back out to the same breeder and got a puppy last Thursday.  Meet Gunner (the dog, not the kid.  Lol)-

He's a ball of energy who is either napping by one of our sides, exploring the house, or chasing the cat.  Oh man, I forgot how bad puppy teeth hurt.  Lol.  He likes to wait until you fall asleep then climb on your head and nibble your ear or nose.  Lol.

PS - My kids named the dogs, incase you couldn't tell.  My vote was on Maximus, but I got vetoed.   :P
