General Gun Discussion / Survival Point Shooting

How many of you fellow forum members practice the P&S technique....?

Here is an interesting perspective.......

Since this is not considered a "professional" sporting event anymore sanctioned by the PRCA, as a Texas CHL holders can we not carry into Reliant Stadium if we wanted....? I'm not sure that I would want to but........just saying.

Gun News & Laws / Parking Lot Bill Updates (SB 321 & HB 681)
« on: March 03, 2011, 07:48:18 PM »
Hello fellow forum members..! I wanted to give you a quick update on our two "Parking Lot" bills working in this legislative session. They are both progressing along so far without any hiccups and both have had public hearings held on them this week. Here is the recap below.....

SB 321
The chair laid out SB 321 and recognized the author, Senator Hegar, to explain the bill.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.
The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Whitmire moved that SB 321 be left pending to await a quorum; without objection, it was so ordered.

HB 681
The chair laid out HB 681.
The chair recognized Representative Kleinschmidt to explain HB 681.
Testimony taken/registration recorded.  (See attached witness list.)
The chair recognized Representative Kleinschmidt to close on HB 681.
HB 681 was left pending without objection.
At 8:17 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.

This is important legislation and effects probably 75% of all CHL holders in Texas. Please go to the link below and send a quick note to your State Sen & Rep and let them know you support these bills. If you look at the witness list of people who attended the hearings there are many names from business and industry who oppose this legislation but there is a lot of support as well this time around.

Politics, Gripes, Complaints / Louisiana Casinos
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:09:49 PM »
The wife and I made our first stay at the L'Auberge Casino this weekend. I'm a craps player and the only complaint I have is that they jack their $15.00 tables up to $25.00 & $50.00 at night when it gets crowded on the weekends. As far as I could tell they never have $5.00 or $10.00 tables in the place. We left and went over to Isle Capri for awhile Saturday evening but that place reminds me of a cheap teenage video arcade /game room.

General Gun Discussion / Holster Shirt

Does anyone here have any experience with one of these holster shirts...? I'm not sure what size gun you could carry in one comfortably, but I could see where they have there place for certain situations if they keep the gun secure.

Gun News & Laws / 2011 Texas Legislative Session
« on: February 07, 2011, 07:40:46 PM »
We have some important legislation introduced again in this years session related to our rights as CHL holders in this great State of Texas. This is especially true for those of us who work in the corporate world and are currently restricted by most of the employers from carrying our handguns in our private vehicles on to their parking lots. The two bills of interest are SB321 & HB681. I encourage each of you to send a quick e-mail to your State Rep & Senator requesting that they support this logical and reasonable legislation. I've included a link to the Texas Legislature Online where you can look up your Rep and send them a quick note to let them know you support this and they should as well. And remember....the squeaky wheel gets the grease..!
