Cars, Trucks, Bikes, Atvs / ..I'm very interested in this particular car..
« on: November 02, 2019, 08:40:48 AM »
have owned 2 BMW 850s in the past - a '91 850I and a '93Ci - they're not a car that'll break and acceleration records but they are true GT cars, the 5.4L V12 is a smooth running outstanding engine - I've driven both from Tejas to the west coast and back (bought the '93Ci from a dealer in Las Vegas and drove it home from there) - during the years that these were built '90-'99) BMW also produced a V8 version, the 840 (4 liter V8)

the example in the below advert might be worth my while at which to take a closer look

Smith County (the county boarding Wood Co on the South - "Wood", where I live) passed a resolution today declaring it's a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County for gun owners (did I hear there was just 1 other in the State ?)

Judge says Justice Department must give House evidence from Mueller grand jury, citing ‘potentially impeachable conduct’ by Trump

and gee, another Osama, er, obama appointment to the bench - who wudda thought

the laser on my 5.7 pistol would only send an intermittent beam and that was "if you held down the on/off button

figured it could be a battery problem so I got on the internet, found that laser for sale and in the description it said that it came with 2 different battery systems - a set of 3 (that the laser had in it) and a single one (forgot the item #)

couldn't find the 3 smaller ones but did find the single one, at CVS (and it was expensive) - brought it home and it wasn't the correct size (returned it)

then got on Amazon, found the small ones, they're here, they're installed and the laser now works as new (and it is really bright)

remounted on the pistol, bore sighted and ready to fine tune it at the range

Outdoors / ..goofy friggin' weather..

had the heaters "on" just a couple of days ago and now I see that it's 77 degrees in the shade on the back patio - came in from working outside and got into shorts and a golf shirt

today the Horse trainer and the Farrier were both here, while the Wife was on the road, driving to Houston for a flight to Munich tonight - I decided to take off the Rotary Mower and put on (the Tractor) the Rotary Tiller - I find that to be a difficult job for just 1 person - on and off the Tractor checking to see if the attachment pins are lined up and using a 6' steel pry bar to move the implement ever so slightly - tough job

the Boys are sure lookin' good - healthy and happy - almost time for their afternoon treats - a health grain, which they love & Carrot sticks - maybe #1 on their favorites list

life is good

Gun News & Laws / gun laws in kalifornia..
« on: October 15, 2019, 06:19:14 AM »
did someone here say that there are no "red flag" laws out there ?

governator of kalif just signed this :

"Coworkers, employers and school faculty will be able to petition a court for a gun violence restraining order against individuals they think pose a harm to themselves or the community"

it's here folks

Tech Zone / stuff - gotta love it..

how cool is this - Wife is in Munich (actually on the way home now) and was able to access the live pics of my 3 Wyze cams - have 1 set-up to look across the front yard and out to the Barn, 2nd one looks out on the rear porch, across the Pool, then out to the near back Pasture, 3rd one (which can be moved up/down/left/right) is stationed in the Den - where the Dogs and I hang out

she sent emails saying she watched at I was hanging a thermometer on the back porch then watched 2 of the Dogs and me in the Den (where I had taped a "get home soon" message on the side of my desk

then, of course, we can live video call using the "duo" programs that are downloaded onto our IPads   :th_thicon_idea:

I love this stuff

Outdoors / ..rain - finally..
« on: October 11, 2019, 12:50:12 PM »
yesterday the A/C (cold) system was on and off, trying to hold the house at 72 degrees - today it's still set to 72 (on the cold setting) but the temp inside the house is showing 70

a cold front moved thru last night at about 11:15pm and brought some rain (about 3/8 inch) - this morning there's a strong wind blowing with a heavy mist

the mist turned to rain and is still going at it.....and.....I'm thankful for every drop

(now, if I could just get Ship to clean the remaining dirty pistols.....)

Handguns and Revolvers / ..shamed by Wife..
« on: October 10, 2019, 08:08:12 AM »
3 or so of the 7 or so pistols that have been laying around, uncleaned, are my Wife's.....yesterday she "sorta-suggested" that I do something about that "problem"

so I managed to "do" 3 of hers, as cursory a cleaning as it was

still have 4 or 5 to do (I just hate cleaning guns)

Cars, Trucks, Bikes, Atvs / Wife's zero turn mower..
« on: September 27, 2019, 06:45:55 PM »
this is the same "brand" (Spartan) of mower that my Wife has - this one however has a few more "options"

Cars, Trucks, Bikes, Atvs / ..a good Wife, or what..
« on: September 26, 2019, 07:12:34 PM »
this Summer my Wife has seen me come in from mowing - hot, covered with dust and all sorts of nasty stuff

today we took her Spartan (muscular zero-turn mower) in for service - where I have it done it's also a Mahindra/New Holland dealership

her words today were "isn't it about time you got a new Tractor (my Kubota is 2 years old and has less than 200 hours on it) - something with an enclosed cab - A/C, Heat, Radio and a little more HP (mine is 39hp) - not only for Summer but Winter will be here soon"

so, I'm starting to do comparisons - probably between Kubota and John Deere - I love the HST transmission and around 50hp "would work" for me

thank you Sweetheart.....

Politics, Gripes, Complaints / ..I'm all "for" Impeachment..
« on: September 24, 2019, 07:27:37 AM »
yes.....any sitting government official who would have the audacity to have sex with a woman not his wife at a place of Public Trust should be Impeached - and not simply Impeached but forced from office.....

huh ?  what ?  -  oh, never mind - sometimes I forget things
