The ambi side isnít the problem with this holster.

Yeah, today I went back to carrying my NP3 96G Centurion today.

I rarely ever carry my RIA 1911A1, but decided to today. I had to make a stop at the post office to pick up a package, so while I was in my truck I took the 1911 out of the holster. I noticed that the safety was not on. I know it was on when I holstered it about a half hour earlier. When I put it back on I make triple sure the safety was on, but tonight it was off again when I got home. I unloaded it & looked to figure out the cause. It didnít take long at all to realize that the thumb snap was pushing the safety down as the gun moved around in it. Thatís slightly disconcerting.

So, other than throwing the entire holster away, what can I do to it to prevent this from happening?
The only holster I have that I would feel safe carrying a 1911 in is a full-flap OD green M12  :icon_redface: :icon_redface:

Defensive Tactics / Re: How Often Are Guns Actually Used In Self Defense?

Iíd say that the limited capacity of a gun would be a good reason to not give any warning shots. Plus, the old saying that thereís a lawyer attached to every bullet.

I have personally used (Pulled & pointed, but didnít fire) my handgun in a defensive situation to where the presence of it made the other guy change his mind. I was just getting in my truck after a date where we went to a pool hall/bar after dinner when a van pulled up behind me blocking me in. A guy came up to my driverís window begging for money. I had my M9 leveled at his chest, but he couldnít see it at first in the dark against my dark clothes. He wasnít wanting to leave & asked to shake my hand. I said I was not going to do that & activated the Crimson Trace laser. He saw that & got the heck out of there. On my way home I called the local police to let them know, just in case anything else happened to let them know to keep a watch of the area. Nothing ever came from it.

Smith county includes Tyler.

Many years ago, Smith county, and Tyler Texas, were the most corrupt counties and cities in Texas.
Yep. I live there now. My family (both sides) have lived around here for a long time. Theyíve come a long way.

The factory P-11 trigger sucks. I wonít deny that. But I will say that my trigger is not factory. I did a little work to lighten the weight to consistently under 7 pounds, & swapped in a metal one that feels much better.

I have been carrying my subcompact Kel-Tec P-11 for a couple days now. The other ones I mentioned are now back to backup pocket guns.

The P-11 uses mags for the Smith & Wesson 5900 Series. They offer FLUSH fit 12 round mags. MecGar makes 10, 15, 17, & 20 round mags. Heck, ProMag makes 32 round mags that fit!

I would suggest you stop dinking around and go buy a Cz rami 2075bd 9mm.  :th_thicon_funny:

Are you wanting to kill stuff, or just pizz it off ?  :th_thicon_funny:
The Rami probably has a better trigger, but it holds fewer rounds & has a slightly shorter barrel. It also costs multiple times what I gave for the P-11 (since it was my first pistol.)

And I actually do not want to kill anybody. I want to stop the threat. If that requires the threat to die, so be it.

Aside from probably a slightly better trigger, the P365 has nothing to offer over my old Keltec P-11

And my mags are cheaper  :th_thicon_idea:

Oh yeah, the 12 round mags are flush fit.

With a little persuasion I was able to get my Keltec P11 to fit in the Galco ankle holster made for the 642. With a spare mag tucked in my pocket beside my wallet I carried 5 times the ammo as I have been. Plus, I put a night sight on the front of this gun.

I also want a Five-Seven some day. I havenít shot the pistol before, but I have shot an AR57. It was nice.

I work at a NPE, but carry a 642 J-frame. Iím sorta wondering if I might be better off carrying my Beretta Tomcat. They are close in weight & conceal well. I want more capacity, but Iím not sure if I should trade off the reliability & power.

What do yíall suggest?

Chris, actually you can use the same magazine extensions for the Maverick as you can for the Mossberg 500's.
Considering how the barrel screws into the end of the mag tube, you would need a completely new mag tube and a new barrel to otherwise add rounds to the Maverick or a standard 500.

I used to see them all the time at my old job where I got to drive around a lot at night.

Does this count as unusual?

How about this version?

Howís this?

Interesting but probably not. Would like to shoot one though.

Thatís a funky looking scatter gun (says the guy who has an FNH FS2000 & a VEPR-12)

But do you have a light saber?  :wave1:
Does the VR Star Wars lightsaber game count?
