Title: Criminal’s Family Laments The Good Guy’s AR-15 Made The Fight Unfair
Post by: JohnnyDollar on April 01, 2017, 07:52:06 AM
Oh boo hoo.......

Quote
The grandfather of one of the three armed home invaders who were shot and killed breaking into a home in Broken Arrow (OK) earlier this week laments that the resident’s AR-15 carbine wasn’t fair against the knife and brass knuckles carried by the mask-wearing criminals.

In all places, a suburb of Tulsa OK, about as conservative and pro gun and 'stand your ground' as it gets.
While the families of all involved have my empathy, the laws are pretty clear.

even the most illiterate dummy instinctively knows not
to go places you're not supposed to be.
those "teens" shouldn't have been where they weren't
supposed to be. they wouldn't be full of holes now if
they'd stayed away from where they got ended.

i don't know where these folks these days get this
idea of a "fair" fight with the criminal element. it's
beyond me. :thinker:

More unfortunate for the family of the thugs is that they were white so no civil rights protesters will burn down broken arrow because these were just "good kids who made a bad decision."  Bullcrap, they were thugs and they went in there with intent to harm and were outmatched.   Good.. screw them, saves us 100k a year keeping their bum butts alive at the mercy of the state.

.
the grandfather is a moron

the exact reason for which I choose my nightstand/HD/carry firearms is to give ME an UNFAIR advantage in the event that I should become, God forbid, a victim of a home invasion or assault

i see on various places on the internitwit that some are
referring to this incident as a triple homicide or murder.
there's no murder, only three dead criminals that were
fatally shot in self defense. the only victim is the kid that
did the shooting. he's a home invasion victim. he used
the force needed to stop a three-on-one crime.
i don't suppose any of the relatives have commented on
the "fairness" of three against one ?

Anyone who would knowingly engage in a fight to the death and worry about playing  fair  just aint using their noodle.  :thinker:

I don't know AR ammo, but some home protection rounds might be good.  These can't be that expensive (compared to Boomer)

The Hornady Superformance 77gr 5.56 is about $0.94/round the 62 gr .223 Fusion is about $1/rd.  The Hornady lists a little higher muzzle velocity.  I prefer the heaviest round I can get in any caliber usually.

Well, I took my SCAR to the range a few years back. I had 1 box of Winchester PDX and a box of Fusion. The PDX did not shoot to my zero from the 55gr FMJ, and the groups sucked too (not really in a small group). The Fusion grouped well at 50 yards, and the zero was almost spot on to the FMJ rounds I shoot for target practice. I just slightly adjusted the zero to match the Fusion exactly, and shot 2 more boxes of it on the next trip. Now, that's what I keep in the mag, and I think I have about 120 rounds of the stuff. I'm just gonna stick with that.

ETA: at the house in town, I prefer Hornady 55gr TAP

ETA: at the house in town, I prefer Hornady 55gr TAP

I used that before I had my SCAR - in my AUG. But after that last ammo rush - I never see TAP outside of a gunshow. No gun stores or any stores here that used to have it carry it anymore. For years now. So, I bought just plain VMAX 55gr for a while. But, with the bigger bolt, the VMAX barely cycles my SCAR 16. It runs, but just barely. For self defense, I don't wanna tempt fate and have it not cycle completely once. So, I went with the Fusion.

I have my PS90 for my indoor gun, though. WIth the 198 ammo.

You could be right.
I have not bought any AR ammo in years,
I am living proof that there is such a thing as too much ammo.
