you're welcome - I've been very pleased with the 2 that I've got hooked-up - the new "rotating" one will be interesting, to say the least

my Buddy, for whom I've bought the V2 camera, is about as techno-challenged as I - so I'll probably be on the phone with him, after he gets the camera, flopping around my wee bit of knowledge to help him set it up    :th_thicon_lol:
What sold me was going online and seeing their robust forum, there's alot of support and good sized community, and quite a few reviews, all pretty positive as their competition is often the $200 Next cam.

messin' around with 'em today and put the phone by the IPad - both showing the live image of a camera I've got pointed out over the back pasture - anxious to get and see how the new "swiveling" camera works..

Just got it in the mail today, wow, $30 (plus shipping), that's a deal.
First picture was on the TV, "Sands of Iwo Jima".  You can see where it spotted motion with the box.

Thanks again Tango!

glad it worked out for ya

I had one sent to my Buddy in Vancouver, Wa (a V2) and I ordered for myself the one that rotates - it got here just this afternoon - it's still in the box (afternoon chores)

my Wife has the IPad with her on a Sydney flight but I'll go ahead and mate it to my phone (manana, if I have the time) and then on the IPad when she gets home Sunday

have the two V1s set up in the living room and on the inside of a window that looks out the back (where the Horses feed and their pasture) - she likes to check in on me, the Dogs and the Horses when she's on her layovers   :icon_wink:

I'm sure you know but in case not.....you can get a microSD chip and install, so as to record

It didn't like the microSD I had so I ordered another from them, but yes, the features / price ratio is impressive.
The tracking function is a bit coarse, but it's better than the fixed cameras on the 'so-fist-I-kated' system on the house.

And it's just cool to play with.

The YouTube videos are great, do a search in YouTube and you will see their weekly  but short how-to instructions.

That's impressive for $30 plus shipping. (plus $9.95 shipping on their website.)
So for $40 vs. the thousands that several neighbors have spent, what's the difference?

Here's 1:

Also go to youtube and search "Wyze Tips on Tuesday's". This will give you all of the Wyze videos they produce once a week.

Their shipping is $9.95 on their website.
I'll make that more clear in the post above.

So for $40 vs. the thousands that several neighbors have spent, what's the difference?

Massive storage (maybe 1-5 years real time live video stored and instantly accessible)
High end search and export facilities
Very high resolution (4K+ resolution)
Very sensitive cameras (can resolve color in virtual darkenss (by your eyes)
PTZ cameras that can nail a license plate  or a face at 100 yards
Serious auto tracking capabilities
24/7 on-call service

This is a pretty cool little camera, and it's an incredible value.  But if you wanted to be able to absolutely identify a bad guy or an event 50+ yards away, this probably isn't your camera.
But if you want to see what is going on in your home, particularly when you're gone, this is one heck of a deal.

or.....have both - I've got a somewhat "expensive"/"normal" security camera system (Lorex) but I bought these Wyze cams for the purpose that I've been mentioning thru this thread :  a nifty and convenient way, for my Wife, to monitor our animals while she's "away" (out of the country, for instance)

they also have the added benefit of adding another source of video to embellish the "normal" security camera system - I now have 4 + 3 cameras set up viewing the property and inside the house

for someone who doesn't care to invest a lot of $s in a security system the Wyze cams are an excellent/reasonable way to go (I know there are a few, uh, frugal members of this forum.....and then) there are some who live in condos/apartments who want a security cam setup but don't need "license plate recognition"

nifty.....the IPad "came home" (from Sydeny, Au) so I was gonna set-up the new Wyze Pan camera on it but discovered that by having it already set-up on my phone it was on the IPad automatically (must be the "local" wi fi thing)

and, the Pan camera "panning functioning" is great - the ability to have the camera "pan" from afar with the IPad (don't know if it'll do it thru the phone, or not)

anyway, with the Pan feature there's really no need to have 2 or more V1 or V2 cameras pointed in one general direction to get overlapping coverage (of the entire front or rear pastures, for instance) - just use 1 Pan cam and move it around with the controls on the IPad

out this morning running chores in town - bought an IPad for myself (the other one I bought for the Wife) - at WalMart, by the way

started to do a set-up on it and, dang, they've changed the procedure and made it more difficult - I'll admit that I'm semi-tech-ignorant but I didn't have the trouble with the other one that I had with this one

I think I finally got it - at least I'm able to sign-in and (finally, with great difficulty) downloaded the free Wyze and Dish Anywhere apps

I can see some jughead, sitting at a desk in Apple's HQ saying "let's see how I can make this really really difficult" - it just reminded me, again, of why I don't buy Apple computers

For a guy that can fly a dozen different complex aircraft and exit at least one via ejection seat Tango, I figured you'd have aced this one in about 10 seconds :)

some advise for prospective Wyze cam purchasers.....

if you're contemplating a purchase I strongly suggest that you spring for the xtra $10 and buy the "Pan" camera(s) - they're both great but take it from someone who has both
