Politics, Gripes, Complaints / Re: Mueller Report?
« Last post by Alte Schule on Today at 10:37:18 AM »
David Schoen is a criminal defense attorney that writes op ed pieces for Fox. He wrote this column yesterday
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/the-mueller-report-should-be-rejected-and-not-believed-its-fatally-flawed
that I found very interesting.

If you don't want to read it basically what he says is that the allegations of Russian/Trump collusion and the obtaining of the FISA warrant to spy on American Citizens was all fabricated by DOJ officials and thus invalid and illegal. Thus "The process of appointing Mueller as a special counsel was, therefore, improper from its inception. Any report derived from that process will be the fruit of a most poisonous tree."
He lays out a pretty good argument as to why Mueller's investigation and report should be rejected. Sure would like this avenue of thought pursued.

Cars, Trucks, Bikes, Atvs / Re: Micro Trucks.

I always liked micro vehicles. Probably comes from wanting a go kart so badly in my youth. I miss mini trucks, if they still made them I'd buy one. I borrowed my Dad's 1992 Dodge Ram 50 once & it was a blast to drive. Handled like a sports car & torquey enough to spin the tires but got 30 mpg. He paid a whopping $8,300 for it. Today's trucks are basically big sedans without trunk lids.

Now they (dems) will spend the next two yrs on Trumps business and personal dealings looking for ANYTHING because they still cant accept that they lost even when they cheated they lost.

2020 and the next 18 mo or so of BS should be entertaining.
So far I see no serious contenders on the left.

I'm looking forward to all the dirty secrets at the White House, that were left behind from the Obama Administration for Trump to reveal! The ones that Obama was banking on that Hillary won the election! It never occurred to them that Trump ever had a chance of winning.

And Hillary? She keeps poking the bear, so to speak. Trying to maintain some presence in the media. Smart money says, she should get out of the limelight, scamper away to some private secluded place and thank her lucky stars she's not sitting in prison wearing an orange jumpsuit. At some point, someone, somewhere is going to dig up enough to get her on her past misdeeds to make her life miserable. She isn't smart enough to bury things deep enough that someone smarter than her can't eventually find and bring to the public's attention.

Handguns and Revolvers / Re: What handgun is next on your list?

I hadn't planned on buying a new gun anytime soon & I just finished telling my wife I had all the guns I wanted. Then I went to Academy for ammo. Saw the new Taurus TX22, held it & bought it. The most comfortable grip I've tried. Great trigger. 5 pounds, short & crisp. Feels like 4 pounds. Short reset. Vey accurate & fun to shoot. Decent sights but for target shooting I like a thin blade in a narrow notch. 16 round magazine, striker fired & mine's very reliable. Maybe I got lucky. A new Taurus with no problems. I know some bad magazines got out & Taurus is replacing them. Also a magazine loading tool didn't come with these pistols but soon will. It needs one if you have wide fingertips.

General Gun Discussion / Re: Does this offend you? Yes / No / Comment

I saw this today and wasn't sure how to take it...

"If Jesus had an AK, he'd be walking the earth today."

Well, the statement assumes Jesus is dead, which he ain't.

Jesus Christ died on the cross. He was resurrected to live eternally for our salvation.

Rifles & Shotguns / Re: K.I.S.S. Home Defense Shotguns.

.
I have a Mossberg 20ga pistol gripped pump ("camper") (Wife had a 12ga semi auto) and I use it, in rotation with my AR and the Wife's 9mm Beretta PCC as my nightstand long gun (sits along side my FN 5.7 which is a permanent fixture there..)

the 20ga is a great weapon - the slugs will go thru both sides of a 55gal steel barrel (my "burn barrel") and keep on going - for HD I keep it loaded with Winchester PDX1 Personal-Defense Shotshells

Mossberg top - Beretta bottom

Well I guess it could be offensive if your among those who believe such person ever existed and or is of some higher power.

It is a historical fact that Jesus existed and was crucified. This is backed by historical writings outside the bible.
However, believing whether or not he is the son of God and a deity is a decision made by each individual.

General Gun Discussion / Hearing Protection.
« Last post by Axxe55 on Today at 07:38:56 AM »
This is more targeted to many of the younger shooters out there, since most of us old-timers have already found out the hard way.

Hearing protection is you friend. This isn't just about shooting guns either. Any loud, or constant noise can cause hearing damage. I'm proof of that. Working around loud machinery, and equipment in shops, and factories have left me with hearing damage. Constant ringing in my ears, having to have people repeat things, because I couldn't understand what they said.

Going out and shooting guns, isn't the only time you should, or need to wear hearing protection. Mowing the lawn, or weed-eating, or running a chainsaw. Your power tools in the shop or garage. You should, and need to wear hearing protection of some sort.

And the thing is, the loss and damage are gradual. It can take years to sustain the damage, and loss to your hearing. I wished I had known many years ago. It's never too late to start using hearing protection if you aren't already doing so. Once it's gone, it's gone. But you can stop further damage and loss if you use hearing protection, even in your daily chores.

I hope this will help someone not to have to live like I do.

Rifles & Shotguns / K.I.S.S. Home Defense Shotguns.
« Last post by Axxe55 on Today at 07:29:45 AM »
Many of us have or keep a shotgun for home defense, I do as well. I have several that can, or are pretty much pressed into that role.

My philosophy is, the simpler the better. My inspiration came from the old school riot shotguns that LE officers carried in their patrol cars many years ago. Very simple pump shotguns with simple and clean wood stocks, and shorter barrels than hunting versions of the same model of shotgun.

But in the last several years, I have seen such a transformation, of all sorts of gee gaws and doo dads adorning SD shotguns! getting almost as bad as some of the "Tactical Timmy's" and their AR's!

I like simple. Adding nothing that isn't absolutely needed. A lot of people think a pistol is what is used to get to a rifle in a situation that might happen in the home, but my usually go to weapon of choice, is the shotgun. Some have misconceptions about shotguns, much of that coming from the BS spewed from the movies and TV. Shotguns do need to be aimed, but they don't need near the precision in aiming that pistols and rifles require in order to hit the intended target. And even a hit in an extremity with a round of buck-shot is more damaging than a pistol or rifle round in the same area IMO.

Shotguns for me over the past many years are more of a utility firearm than one that would be used for sporting or hunting purposes. It's just where I have gravitated to with shotguns. Several I have could be still used for hunting or sporting uses if I wanted to pursue that again.

So lets open up the discussion!
