When I carry a 1911, I carry condition 0 modified. When I holster it's with thumb safety on. Then I snick it off once it in holster. Now i know I will here about this, but Col. Copper and many other did this but did not talk about it. I drilled and pinned my back strap safety down. This is not for the novice or beginner so don't  do it. I shoot around 3000 rds per week out of a 1911 in 9mm with condition 0 pinned. Then when I go to carry, I carry a RIA in 45acp or 10mm in C0 pinned. I practice as lot in C 0 .

Isn't it against the law to have a 1911 in 9mm?  :th_thicon_funny:

that's exactly why I bought it - 10oz+ lighter with better ergonomics and (at least) 8 more rounds than a SS 1911 (of which I own 4)

but also have to say that my Coonan Classic, in .357mag, is much more "fun" to shoot than any of my 1911s in .45acp  :P

To All,

When I actually had a 1911, I carried it in condition one.

When I get another GM & it's in .38 Super (I cannot carry a 9x18mm, 9x19x19mm or .45ACP in the Latin American nation where I'm planning to retire, as those calibers are considered to be "weapons of war" & only the military there may possess any "weapon of war" absent a "special permit".), I'll carry it in condition one, too.

yours, satx

WHEN I carry it (RIA Full Size Tactical), it is in condition 1. But i hardly EVER tote the thing. It is almost exclusively a range gun.
